Free Broken Craftsman M250 with Honda GCV160 engine- major Carb Clean and Handle Fix

Picked up two free mowers- a Craftsman M250 and Snapper Commercial 2 stroke. The Craftsman has a Honda GCV160 engine and the carburetor needed a major cleaning. The handle also was broken so I fixed that by adding an extra bolt to each side. The Snapper will be a project for a later date!

Bracing the mower with your foot worried me as the risk is that as you pull the cord towards you, the mower climbs over your foot and you are only wearing sandals. As the handle was compromised too you had very little control. Take care and wear safety shoes.

Point taken. I’ve never had a mower climb over my foot, but things do happen!
