Should also mention now that this particular version (141, I think?) is very out of date. Enemy AI, the blood system, animation, attacking/blocking/dodging and combat overall are vastly improved.

i fucking love hand to hand it's my favorite thing in the entire game
that feeling of dodging every move and throwing punches and kicks at people makes you feel like the most badass thing on the planet.

hey guys don't hate on this guy he just said he fought 25 bots he didn't say how and he didn't want to seem like a pro so I dont know why you would hate on him i think this is an awesome game-play video and shows of the game very well, also what are your specs for your computer man?!

Spears aren't all that great, swords are best for fighting crowds
@JewTubeUsername There's plenty of variety in combat, unforuntately I didn't get to show off alot of it. Being an early alpha version, the targeting and hit detection only works for one target at a time, essentially making it impossible to take on groups of enemies. You can block the first attack and maybe hit back at one enemy, but they can all hit back at you simultaneously from 3-4 different angles, which is why I rely on the overpowered jump kick to try and seperate them.
I think you missed the point entirely. Ofcourse there's slowmo, aswell as the ability to revive yourself - but the only reason you have that control is because it's an alpha and they're debugging tools. You wont be abusing slowmo or invincibility in the finished product.
@Schnippshly I tried, but without seperating them out to 2-3 at a time I would just be jump kicking on top of a tightly bunched crowd of rabbits for 5 minutes. Not particularly entertaining.
@AIfeim The art style isn't perverted enough to be considered furry. You might aswell be telling bugs bunny to yiff in hell, because these rabbits are even less personified than he is.
Does it crash or just lag? I found when making this there was a chance it would crash every time you add a bot, so I saved after each addition and kept going till I had 25.
I expected this sooner, It's been 9 and a half months and 65000 veiws and you're the first person to point that out. You win a speed boat or something.
Splitscreen, and single screen duelling (like any fighting game), but I don't know anything about online at the moment. It may be planned.
I don't see why you're panicking so much. There's nothing that taxing about a serverside ragdoll. This isn't 2004.

There most definitely is a revive button, and I used it twice. I also got hit a heap of times.
I haven't played this in forever, but I'm pretty sure there's a config somewhere you can edit.

@Sharley001 Split screen currently exists, online is planned for later as far as I know.

The game is heavily data driven and scripted, so that's entirely possible.

They spear flew out of his hand, drifted a distance away, and then without the model changing position to move towers the spear, it popped back into his hand :|

Dude. Epic mastery of controls. The overgrowth fights are hard. Awesomely done. What kind of pc set up did you use? it looked so sweet and fluid.
online will NOT be happening. too much of OG is ragdolls, and as we all know simulation will be diffrent for diffrent people. local multiplayer is only possible because all players are directly connected and viewing the same simulation. besides, even if multiplayer happened from an outside source, they would have to take into account that problem. there is a forum post about it in the SPF that talks about this.
so, just to summarize
OVERGROWTH WILL NOT HAVE ONLINE MULTIPLAYER.

Actually, he got hit a plenty of times and he couldn't hold that amount of'em.
And going against twenty five bots without a revival button is actually quite a challenge. Would love to see someone doing this .3.

at about :43 a bug appears... the spear is not in your hand, but moments laters SNAPS back into place...
it seems whenever you are in trouble you can just jump and roll kick to get out of it. There needs to be some sort of stamina to limit this so you cant spam it

Easiest way is to double clock a bot, then hit control+c. Then wherever you point your mouse and press control-v, a copy of that bot will show up.

yes you r: yes there is 20+ bots at the scene but you r allways running away just to fight 2 at the time so that dosent count
Right now, the AI has no way to count aerial attacks, so the Leg Cannon is really all you need. But it's really boring to watch.

Indie game!? This has more f****** potential then Skyrim ever had. I would so liie this game to be an epic RPG.
I so bad want to believe in these guys that they have the ability to make a project that's worth the 30. I've been following them since 2008 and felt that WF had the talent to make one of the best combat experiences with THE best physics engine known to man. But no matter how much they improve the engine and polish the graphics they still need to build a AAA game around it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they know the difference between a sandbox (which is fun) and a retail game experience.

For all the flexibility allowed in the system, it is an easy design oversight to allow such a move to become too dominant, through simple ease of use and effectiveness when compared to other attacks/defenses.
This game have a great Animation for Fighting/Action game but,WHY RABBIT?!

Add in upgrades like a dmg increase, dodge system (where you can upgrade your dodge skill to dodge more blows ( this is automatic) ), jump height system, and maybe some slow down special ability and boom, you got the best matrix game ever!

@bullno1 Yeah, the Leg Cannon was a pretty sweet move -- but, because AI characters weren't capable of pulling it off, they were instead given the ability to superhumanly predict and counter it. Looks like Overgrowth's going to be a bit more balanced.
The constant shout cracked me up. This game is looking pretty good. If nothing else, give Wolfire your support for using OpenGL. It's about time it made a come back so we can get away from Microsoft's proprietary system.
@TheReasonWhyGuy well we will just have to agree to disagree. Similar things like that happen to me, when you are falling or rolling you can pick them up instantly if near them. At least from my past experience

Take this combat engine, put it into a game like Rome Total war, only you play as one soldier fighting on the battlefield, tweak it a bit to make it more human like = A fucking awesome game.
@ReavinBlue Its a amazing game, that is being worked on by Wolfire games, and they have a youtube channel where they show new builds every week. Its REALLY Good and you should check them out.

@Sharley001 Well for now they worked on split screen multiplayer but for online one im not so sure for now still worth taking it for modders and ninja rabbit people in this world :D

a cool move could be that you jump go upside down hold the stick straight to the ground and then on down come hit someone in the head with it
Please to the slow-mo and edit for mount and blade please. If you press ctr + F9 it goes into slow motion. We all now thats a fast game :p
