Fabulous and straight forward, your video has just literally 'released the tension' now I can save the other two ratchets I was ditching.😄 Thank you so much.xx
I’m only an apprentice and I’ve just tried to tighten the ladders in the back so they don’t go flying everywhere and this has just happened. I watched this video and by the time my boss came back out from the job I’d already fixed it thanks to you. Thank you sir.
Wow! I was about to through my ratchet in the garbage and I found your video. Super easy, clear. It took me 2 minutes to unjam my ratchet! Thank you sooooooo much!
Thank you! I had 2 straps that had been outside holding back bushes for 4 years. They were set up wrong to begin with (I know better now), so they were both jammed. You saved me a ton of time and trouble. Thank you so much!
Dude, you saved me! I’m using these ratchet straps to wrap a huge borrowed bounce house. But bounce houses are squishy. Wrapping squishy things with this type of strap is almost guaranteed to jam.
You were the only video that had the solution to my frustrating jammed ratchet strap - I ended up using a pair of vise-grips but it worked beautifully, thank you!
As a stagehand and marching band dad, it frustrates me to no end when newer parents think that jamming the spool is the way to use a ratchet strap. Today I had to make a general announcement after we loaded, unloaded, loaded and unloaded our semi on a competetition day and I had to unjam 4 ratchet straps. I had to make a general announcement that youi need to strart ratcheting with tension on the strap rather than drawing in 2 feet of strap and binding everything up.
This video is the best - thank you so much!! All the other videos and websites I saw weren't helping - I'm glad I kept looking until I should this one!!
This problem is a result of someone not understanding how to use these in the first place and it’s good tip. It would have been good if you touched on how to prevent this from happening Also maintain and take of your tools & equipment and they’ll take care of you. Lubricants work wonders in helping these work better and help prevent rusting.
I would like to think that people learn from their errors as they progress. It should be inescapably clear that this is a direct result of overwinding the spool. A small dose of lubricant in the correct spot is very beneficial. Over lubrication will lead to oily hands and gear.
@@OldSoulMillennial My point is it would have been helpful if you also explained how to prevent this from happening. Many people including myself have not pulled out all the slack before ratcheting resulting in jamming the spool.
Lol. Too late for me. I finally gave up and decided I don't need that much strap anyway and cut it after loosening it near the hub, then pulled the strap free. It's long enough for rhe reason it's needed. Now, I know how to unjam it, the other one is safe. 😂 Thanks for my future need. 😊
Did you know they make an 'Automatic Retracting' ratchet strap? Check it Out! amzn.to/3Ut3QVk
Oh my golly gosh!!! You were sent by heaven to save my sanity and our relationship! Thank you so very much. Xx
Lol your relationship?!

A little oil on the gears once and a while makes a world of difference in the operation of the ratchet strap .
I had to put my lower section in a vise and used a screwdriver. Damned if it didn’t work. Thanks

Hey I have a question did you have to adjust the carb on your redmax when you got the new carb
No, not for the redmax. It's very easy to adjust if need be. Look for a small flat head brass screw to adjust the fuel mixture
thank you
It looks good on the video, but I ended up throwing out the jammed ratchet strap. 😂
Man, thank you!!👍🏼
OMG Thankyou man!!
