If this is the Madeira LPMA airport as other posters have claimed, everyone is jumping to conclusions about there being no winds. This is a coastal airport with an ocean on one side of the runway and a 6100 foot mountain on the other side of the runway. The winds will get squirrelly there. Case in point, the aviation weather observation report there at this time is METAR LPMA 221630Z 01011KT 330V050 9999 SCT016 25/16 Q1019. That means that the wind is currently constantly shifting through an arc of almost 90°. Even in landlocked flatland areas, the wind strength and direction can change drastically below 50-100 feet AGL just because of obstructions and ground friction. At LPMA, that effect may be increased considerably.
Reasons why Ryanair have hard landings: 1. It is quicker 2. The Boeing 737 can easily handle them 3. They land at shorter runways so they need to slow down faster 4. Boeing recommends pilots to not try to butter 737’s If you fly to any small airport the chances are that you will usually have a hard landing

That's cheap because Ryanair always tries its best to save money. This is the main reason for their "hard" landings. They want to land as fast as possible to minimize fuel consumption because every dollar or euro counts for Ryanair, some even taxi with just one engine having to turn on the other when they reach the runway.
Quit your overrated and overused Ryanair "jokes." Fly with Ryanair and experience it yourself, kids.
@@ThunderMappinGamerYT well said 👍
Reverse thrust before even hitting the ground is the most Ryan air thing I’ve ever seen.
last guy had real skills to get her down in a heavy crosswind
Ryanair HQ: “He did WHAT?!???!”
Pilots : we did a butter landing, whats wrong?
-Famous last words
Quit the god damn *"joke."*
A smooth landing Sir...
A WHAT!!
Smooth landing do t lie tell me how bad was ot😅@@semakulanicholas3626
I’m from Ireland and I can say with confidence that they hire the best pilots
Same I’m from Ireland
And yeah they do
The best pilots, or the best pilots in Ireland?
@@georgemcclelland5207 the best one
Ryanair? Lol. You must be fraking joking. Its like you're telling us how they land because you think we don't know. . Ive never had a good landing as of yet. And i've landed with Ryanair in Dublin Bruxelles Dortmund Koln Cluj Sibiu. Never once the landing did not feel like a stone hitting the ground. Now that they fly the 737 Max 8 I stopped flying with them so maybe thay changed. But o
I don't think so
That last one is actually pretty fucking good, short turn and down to runway with crosswinds...
I guess he was performing a crosswind landing.
Quite, literally nothing to see here but pilots doing their job.
All Ryanair pilots are good it’s just most Videos were taken in Ireland or England where it is very windy
Its just for the memes, Ryanair pilots are usually very young and quite inexperienced
All though sometimes they should go around
@@Int3gralFinally someone gets it..
Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing
@@Int3gralI agree, seen one ryanair landing at Gdansk, the pilot did a butter landing, seems like an experienced guy was landing.
Admiral: Who's up there
ATC: Maverick and Goose
Admiral: Great!
The reoson of most hard landings is basically design of b 737 which Ryanair uses and also the runway are usually short cause they are budget airlines well... Its also good to have hard landing cause if they butter most it will be like most probably runway will end soo Ryanair is actually safe 😅
Why are you insinuating that airlines have their own runways? Ryanair runways are usually short? Wtf dude
lol. Cope more. Those pilots are shyte
@@daz1676They’re not, that’s just the way you’ve read it. They clearly meant that RyanAir often flies to airports with shorter runways as they tend to fly to the smaller airports that serve their destinations.
The shock absorber technician was pissed.
This looked like a crosswind landing! RESPECT!❤❤❤
To be fair the last one was landing in a heavy cross wind! Pretty damn good if you ask me
Those seem like extreme wind conditions. It's quite understandable
That last landing looked like Madeira, where strong cross and tailwinds are common. He nailed it.
Me landing
Delta: your fired
Ryanair: omg that was so smooth your hired!
That right there is an amazing pilot 👍
In August I flew to Tenerife with Ryan. The landing approach was turbulent. Landing was just excellent. Everyone clapped. Top pilot.
1st one was prolly used to his f16
Fantastic job but I ain’t getting on that flight. Fr.
That is the pilot you most want in charge. Not even a joke. He did a textbook crosswind landing. Phenomenal job in one of the trickiest ways to land.
Ryanair hiring process:
interviewer: “what do you know about gravity?”
potential pilot: “what is gravity?”
interviewer: “you’re hired”
Crosswind landings are usually harder than normal, it's the safest way to get that bird on the ground. People with knowledge understand this.
BRO LANDED HIGH CROSSWINDS
В конце ролика пилот экстра класса! Браво!!!🎉
Man's getting fired for too good of a landing
Shut up he won’t you prob never flew ryanair
I like how people who never flew a plane (or even on a plane) have an opinion on those hard working and great pilots!
Legends said he was fired 😅
Legends said he was the best of all the pilots in Ryanair history
Pilot: I’ve heard this landing technic that Crabbing is a smooth landing
CEO Of RyanAir: Your Indeed fired. HOW CAN YOU NOT LAND BAD!!!
Pilot: well I don’t want Passengers to die.
CEO of RyanAir: Makes Sense.
CEO Of Emirates: Hello show me how you land the A380.
Pilot: *Crabs*
CEO of Emirates: wow I am impressed have you been a pilot from a different Airline/livery?
Pilot: Yes, I’ve been doing American, United, Then I got fired by RyanAir.
CEO of Emirates: How?
Pilot: Crabbing.
CEO of Emirates: oh RyanAir they are bad.
Etihad Employee: Ummm Etihad is better?
CEO of Emirates: Wow no I disagree, Anyways.

“You can’t drift a flying plane”
Pilot: Say it again huh 🍷🗿
Ryanair: Your fired you landed to smooth
Shut up.
This is the best example of having an ace pilot with ace passengers and crew.
(Last guy) That approach though 😂! Wind must've been 40knots!
Pilot..”what’s your son called” … air hostess…”Trevor!” … pilot “Black box recorder, tell Trevor you love him”
Ive flown with RYANAIR & EasyJet multiple times & all the landings were spot on. They get the same reputation as BMW, AUDI drivers which is a shame.
This is the best pilot in Ryanair history bro😂
These pilots are aces recovery after firm landing and crazy cross wind landing give these pilots a cookie
That was actually a very difficult crosswind landing by a very highly skilled aviator.
Last one was perfect crosswind landing. Using the sideslip momentum instead of relying on rudder is simply elite pro.
Bro learned to fly in GTA SA
Last dude was a consummate professional, that crosswind landing was fucking textbook.
The last one was at Funchal, one the more difficult airports in the world to operate into. He did a good job.
That was a solid landing. Those crosswinds must have been hell but he nailed it!
Reasons why Ryanair have hard landings:
1. It is quicker
2. The Boeing 737 can easily handle them
3. They land at shorter runways so they need to slow down faster
4. Boeing recommends pilots to not try to butter 737’s
If you fly to any small airport the chances are that you will usually have a hard landing
Bei starken Seiten- oder Scherwinden so zu landen ist schon eine Klasse für sich ! ♥️👍
As an aircraft engineer, i was crying while watching the first part of the video 😭
