- The giant container ship that was blocking the Suez Canal for nearly a week finally made it through. Salvage teams worked on land and water for six days and nights and were assisted by the moon and tide. The ship is one of the largest in the world - as long as the Empire State Building is tall. It weighs 224,000 tons.

How The Ever Given Finally Made It Through the Suez Canal
You know the captain that moments earlier decided to stop waiting and go around africa is furious

Oh yes, because nothing says good marketing like your ship having a technical failure and as a result blocking the Suez canal and causing distress to the global trade. Nothing says trust our company more than blantant incompetence and damaging your potential clients profit....wait, wait no that's not how the world works. Exactly the opposite holds true in fact, why would anyone choose a corporation that has shown such incompetence to transfer their products?
If this is marketing stun i am sorry but they should fire their entire marketing team because that's not how marketing works..
The ship was not towed but escorted while moving under it's own power.
It has not cleared the canal but has exited the southern portion of the canal and is at anchor in the Great Bitter Lake
which connects the southern portion of the canal to the northern portion of the canal.
Great job Egyptians crew's
The Egyptian workers who freed the ship said they haven't slept for straight 72hours.
Nice presentation Insider.
Very glad this has been solved. Hope a lesson was learned, maybe widen the canal? Huge disruption, as if more can be afforded. Congratulations to everyone involved is this mammoth operation, very well done 👍🏻👏🏻
A whole new section was dug and opened in 2015 (which this ship also blocked) and it cost billions and was heavily controversial in Egypt. You want to widen it with Egyptian money again? Over Egypt's dead body

Those responsible will be sued billions, and it will take years to pay up, because we are paying by that $5 or $10 increase in prices for stuff that we buy.

Specially trained Egyptian pilots are at the helm of every ship that passes through the Suez Canal. The ship's captain is nearby, but (s)he is not in charge of the vessel while it is in the canal...which makes this crash even more suspicious.
What's inside please?
I believe the blocking of the canal was intentionally done and Not an accident,
The most riskiest part of any journey, trip, voyage and etc. is when you're more alert, whether you are in control of a ship, car, airplane, train, walking through a dangerous neighborhood and etc. In this case the risk is passing through the canal, Ship captains are well experienced especially one in control of a ship this magnitude [the length of the empire state building] he would have been extremely cautious and alert while passing through the canal and would have quickly observed the ship drifting before it turns sideways, got stuck and completely blocks the canal.
Sure. They deliberately lost billions of dollars just for entertainment. As if this is the first time a ship ran aground. As if high tech societies can't just screw up. No doubt Suez is going to change the rules to exclude ships longer than the Canal is wide. You never know when some other incompetent idiots are going to screw up again.
I read somewhere that the ship lost engine power..
Then you have chosen to believe a lie, webb, which makes you a gullible fool.
@@robinlillian9471 The ship didn't simply run aground, it turned sideways and completely blocked the canal from one side of of the canal to the other side of the canal, this does not happen in 5 minutes but would have taken a significant amount of time to happen.
We were all expecting this theory , now i am expecting a theory in which there was no blockage of canel but all the world companies faked it so they can give excuse for being late and raise prices.
