He's so good. Just knows how to sound good. It still escapes me though, how people end up going down this smooth jazz road. I mean, I guess it makes logical sense, there's an audience, they enjoy themselves, etc. God knows real jazz music don't pay the rent.
He’s also a studio guitarist who plays for a lot of major commercial artists, such as the Weeknd, Michael Jackson, etc. That’s BIG dough! He also teaches music for a college.
@@derrickjustice8891 oh for sure, Paul is big-time, session-wise. I know he's great. My previous comment was just noodling, wondering why the smooth jazz thing when he's out front. Put it this way, he's one of very few folks I'd actually listen to in this style😉. Cheers.
As a jazz musician who also was a studio player, I found that jazz musicians always play the top 40 songs (Someday my prince will come, my favorite things) improvise on them and use the beats and dance grooves of that time.
Man, this is so good, then to consider that he played for the greatest of this world, and he's got that Ronny Jordan's and George Benson tilt to the lift to it, makes this guy an absolute legend....😘
I like how Paul plays great technique ; plays with a lot of soul I think Jazz was meant to be played He's also Harmonically knowledgeable and extremely talented. Thanks Paul Jackson😊
Tremendous guitar flawlessly executed with the greatest improvision on the planet. ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE BEST IF NOT THEE BEST GUITAR PERFOMANCES OF ALL TIMES!!! I believe in giving props when props are due!!!...like Letterman..."Doesn't Get Any Better Than That Folks!"
I saw the credits, he plays on quite a lot of tracks on RAM. His contributions seemed to be overshadowed by Mr. Rodgers's presence and by people's assumptions.
Alone , this guitar track might sound wild and possibly odd, but in context with the composition? It speaks volumes of musicians that PLAY FOR THE SONG! Fantastic band. Play for the song. Not yourself.
Makes one guitar sound like three. The only other one to do that was Jimmy Hendrix. Only he's doing it without distortion effect. Rhythm, lead and lyrics.
I love this ❤. I was Paul’s tech 30 years ago. A very cool ,humble , and incredible human being! And he’s a great guitarist!!🎸🎼
That's amazing. I bet you can play some. Be great to hear you too 🙂

@@thelonious-dx9vi maybe it's one genre he really enjoys?
