- Minecraft name sniping has been revolutionized in the past few months, but prior to changes on Mojang's end, name sniping was in a very dark place. For years, just one name sniper was able to consistently grab names; chearful.ninja. However, they didn't do a perfect job, so in todays episode of Minecraft Uncovered, we see where they fell short. From turbos, to handsnipes, to Mojang bugs, to complete sniper failure, this is the dark age of Minecraft name sniping.

i used to hand snipe random 3-digits in 2019. I think I got around 7 or 8.
Some of them are: JQB, MP_, umo, wwo and probably my best snipe OG2

Unfortunately, chearful.ninja shut down shortly after this video was released.
Back when they were on top though, usually you would provide an account for them to snipe the name on, then they would block the name until they could put it on your account.
With the current state of sniping, it seems like the best snipers will be spamming name changes on random accounts instead of blocking on one account.

@@mcbyt you should make a video explaining the way sniping and blocking names works, maybe I'm just dumb but I don't rly understand how you can block and unblock names as well as how snipers work or how the api works and stuff. Id love to learn how it works.

I'm not sure, it's hard to appraise culture accounts like that. I don't really know much about Star Wars outside of the live-action movies, so it could be anywhere from $15 to $60, who knows

^I managed to get this name in everything i play, it being a nickname that evolved from my original username, "Luigi". that way now its unique and i don't have to worry about putting numbers after my name

Handsniping is possible, but you have an extremely low chance, about a 1 in 1,500 chance of succeeding.

Yeah, it's very hard right now. MCSniperPY and some mysterious new giftcode snipers have it on lock.
You have about a 1 in 1,500 chance of handsniping a high tier name
Yo I have a few bot snipers I wanna use, but I heard if you use them too often that you could get you’re account locked? Is that true? Kinda worried gonna get my accounts locked doing this 😂
Not really sure; as far as I'm aware, as long as you aren't using proxies and you use less than 30~ accounts, you'll be fine. I've tried to snipe probably about 20 names with the same set of 5 FA accounts on the same IP, never had any issues with them.

I have a good, (maybe semi-og ) name that i’ve found. It’s been available for about a year and im so surprised! In about 17 days i will be able to change my name and hopefully i can change it to the good name i found. However, im not going to say it bc i dont want anyone to “steal” it (sorry)

No. When a player changes their name, it drops to the public in 37 days. "Name sniping" is when a player tries to take that name as soon as it can be claimed, usually because it's a very cool or valuable name. Stealing accounts isn't needed.
