    Credit to Michael Bay he was willing to answer the question honestly. Creative people love to help answer questions on their craft, even pompous ones like Tarantino.

      Micheal hates being the centre of attention he don’t like being interviewed he wasn’t being rude here he answered the questions. I know this because I follow this guy he’s one my favourite directors and he’s never been comfortable being interviewed. He can handle directing multimillion dollar films but sit him down for an interview and he gets nervous.

    Filmmaking is moderately easy itself, but to navigate the politics of it all with companies, legally binding contracts and producers is probably pretty difficult.
    A couple million dollars and some creative liberty to adjust the movie on the fly and you can get it done...but to ''cut through the noise'' and actually market your movie is going to be hard.

      It's a bit odd to start with the premise of producing art for profit. Produce the art. If it's high quality (especially these days with YT/internet), the people will find it and there will be demand. These blockbuster movies NEED to make investors money back. Can't have the almighty dollar driving creativity (IMHO).

    • @SlyTF1
      @SlyTF1 8 місяців тому +2

      @cozyslor Why not? Money is what gets the film made. Filmmaking isn't art, it's a business. That's what most student filmmakers don't get, and that's why they're all broke with useless degrees.

      @@cozyslorThats the name of the game though with film. The idea that because its commercialized it taints what it touches is a weird puritanical notion. Film has always gone through the circuit. People always praise the artistic aspect but the only way to do it is with money. How else would you properly compensate your staff? Or do you not want to compensate them at all lmao
