- This tiny home is something very special indeed. Situated on an idyllic small farm and surrounded by animals and a beautiful rural landscape, this off-the-grid tiny house homestead is a dream come true for it’s owner Louise.
After purchasing the shell of the home from a local builder, Louise, together with her father fit out the home as a DIY project. Working together, they created a home which was not only functional, but also beautiful, filled with character and art.
Sadly, Louise's father passed away several years after the home was completed, but his memory is kept alive, built into the walls of the home and helping Louise to still feel very connected to him.
With the home now complete, Louise enjoys a simple life of art and quiet comfort, surrounded by the animals that she cares for. Living with zero debt and very low cost of living thanks to her off-the-grid tiny home, she is also able to spend a lot of time traveling and has already visited an impressive number of countries all over the globe.

While watching videos from those in FL affected by hurricane milton, I noticed there's this notif 9 mins passed then as i checked, I had to pause for a while to allow a shift in emotion. From watching a heartbreaking devastation to an inspiring content. Then decided to continue watching this to somehow uplift my spirit...

There are very few people who'll ever have the opportunity to build exactly the "regular size" home they want. But the reverse is true for tiny homes, where it's very rare to not be able to get exactly what you want. Quality over quantity is not overrated. Thanks for the tour!

She's so lovely. Must've been a very tough blow to lose her dad. He looked pretty young. But how amazing that he was there for her to help her build her home with her. That's pretty special. She mentioned more travel possibilities for herself in the future. Curious to know how the animals get taken care of while she's away since she lives alone and seems to do it all herself.
Friends or family come to stay to look after the animals. they are never left to their own devices.

I like how she's divided it into rooms instead of the usual, one long house with all the spaces combined. The wallpaper desk is also very cool. I like how she's divided the space upstairs, as well. I was surprised that she's been there five years. That's nice to see. Usually, they say, 6 months or so.
I loved the rooms too! Seemed to make for a bigger lounge and kitchen somehow.

Every room in her home looks comfortable and not cramped. I totally understand her sentimentality about her dad. My dad was a putterer, too, and we would fish together at the small lake behind our house. Mom was great, but Daddy and I were more alike. Miss him (and Mom) terribly! 😢. Loise has adorable pets!

I have a tiny house that was sold as a shed-house. It was built by the Amish and is very sturdy. My family did the interior work because it came in rough form of just 2x4's inside. I love my place. It's a little less than 500 sq. feet. Almost everything in the house was purchased at the restore. Gramma Candy
Here in Europe 500 sq. feet is not that tiny! Especially for flats.

I really like this house, beautiful space, for me it would be a little too isolated but I admire those who manage to live like this. Very touching that she worked together with her father, there is definitely his energy and presence in there. Louise is a very pleasant person and has designed a perfect life for herself. Lovely property! I don’t think I’ve seen a layout with the lounge separated off like that before. Love the big kitchen. My only concern would be as age progresses, stairs and crawling into a loft may become an issue. That’s my only issue with building a tiny for myself. I want the space that having an upstairs bedroom gives you, but I know I need a downstairs one due to health issues… so it’s a battle of the heart and mind lol.
easy just to add another pod tho. I think Louise's non-crawling days are a few years away!

Her Dad would want her to keep it up by doing new things-repainting, etc. He liked to putter around, do little projects so I believe that she would honor him even MOrE by keeping her skills up! She can "talk" to him while she's working on things-it will really honor him.

Another wonderfully inspiring episode. I am fascinated that the large majority of tiny home owners are women. Stereotypically , men have the building skills and DIY reputation yet it seems women are not only just as handy but perhaps more independent. These owners exude confidence, the kind that comes so naturally with taking on a hard project and finishing it. So inspiring!

What a gorgeous home that Louise built with her Father, which is imbedded with his handiwork as well as her own. Oh man, I want this so much, not literally but this set up in the UK but I couldn't afford the land and the build. I am so sorry Louise lost her Dad, both my parents are gone now too and it is so hard but I am glad he helped build this home for her and she has all those beautiful memories. Thought that you were going to tear up at the end there Bryce, it certainly felt very emotional.
