Thank you for the review. We are doing Polaris out of Chicago for the first time (we rarely fly United as our home city is an AA hub) in a couple months and are happy to see your good experience. We are on a 787-8 to CDG but I am sure the service will be similar. Our daughter is looking forward to the ice cream sundae.. in the sky!
I appreciate that you took the time to tell origin and destination and type of aircraft; not everybody does. Either that, or there is a whole page of miscellaneous info that I could care less about. Nicely done :)
Nice trip report. The food looked very good. As for putting the appetiser on the same tray I personally don't see this as an issue as I suspect it may speed up service a little and allows you to hunker down after for the good sleep you got.
Every passenger certainly has their own preferences when it comes to food. Lufthansa, for example, allows passengers to decide whether they would like an “express meal” or whether they would like the meal to be served course by course. I like such a solution.
Dont get me wrong, i like that option from LH or whoever as well. I was more directing at the sloppy comment below. its hardly sloppy. Happy Flying@@upintheair-travel
@@warrenrutherford3000 Agree. Not sloppy at all. UA does offer express dining. "If you prefer a shorter meal service, ask your flight attendant about express dining. You can get all your courses at one time or select a few items and your meal will be delivered at your request."

How nice to see a takeoff that's not sped up! I wonder if the meal was served all at once due to the length of the flight and maybe you wanted to eat and sleep?
Thank you very much. “Unfortunately” it is currently standard practice at United to serve food all at once. This is also how it is handled on day flights, for example from Europe to America.
Love videos like this. No talking and just the facts.
Thanks 🙂

It must be nice to be wealthy and travel like this. I envy you
I love United airlines and American and Lufthansa!!!
I agree with you that the meal should be served course by course. It's sloppy what UA did
Serving all courses in a tray is cheap, regarding you are flying premium!
