Man imagine Warren DeMartini himself could have auditioned for Ozzy, but decided to help his friend George Lynch learn the Ozzy songs instead. Never knew about that until this interview. As a little kid in the 80's, Jake E Lee, George Lynch, and Warren DeMartini were my favorite guitar players. Still love them to this day.

@@aaronkristo858 The constant new live videos popping up on yt are pretty obvious George is the natural heir apparent. The fact that GL & EVH were buds starting out and there is discussion on which one saw the tapping first, George gave Ed the nod to take it because he wanted to take his style a slightly different direction is pretty much all you need to know. As a casual player, it never ceases to amaze the stuff GL pulls off every year he keeps playing. He just keeps better and better, sometimes almost exponentially. No one touches GL with his playing style, just as no one had EVH's touch than EVH.

Judas Priest is the one band that will always be my fav. Motörhead,Scorpion’s,Ozzy,Sabbath were also favorites but the West Coast bands like Dokken,Ratt, early Crue,Great White really rocked. Jake and Warren and Mark Kendall(so underated) and George Lynch made a impact. George on the first 3 Dokken albums was incredible. He didn’t over think his playing he just melted the fretboard. Lynch was my favorite player when I started playing guitar(probably 88/89) before kind of leaving the style behind; though it wasn't anything about his playing as much as a change in my musical tastes. It wasn't even like went from Dokken to Alice in Chains so much as going from G. Lynch to someone like L. Buckingham (though I did move to listening to more alternative).
I ended up for years playing in Indie bands in the 2000's before putting the guitar down for a couple years. Ironically when I picked out back up it was like two steps forward, four steps back and I was playing SRV and blues. Over the last few years I've gone full circle and am relearning that original 80s stuff. Interestingly enough it really wasn't because I suddenly longed to play 80s hair metal, at all really. I've been a luthier and amp builder/tech for years, and someone bought a Marshall Silver Jubilee clone kit and paid me to build it for them. Once finishing and getting it biased and dialed in I was running a Strat through it, then plugged in a Les Paul. Ive always found the Jubilee to have the quintessential "Marshall roar," and kind of a little of all the Marshalls. As soon as you plug a Les Paul into one it's almost impossible to not start playing GnR riffs, maybe unless you're Joe Bonamassa. It was like hopping on a dirt bike or go-cart after decades and instantly remembering why you loved riding them…just without the inevitable middle-aged body aches that the bike would give you.
I was going to build a Jubilee myself, but in an odd coincidence someone contacted me about some equipment I had online for sale and asked if I'd be willing to trade for one of the 20W Studio Jubilees. I did and it's a MUCH more useable amp than a 50 or 100W would be; half-power switch or not. Now I'm trying to decide between a Charvel Wild Card or a Kramer SM-1, as much as I generally hate Floyd Rose it's better than knocking everything out of tune.

Maybe. I take his comments as being possibly more regretful on Dokken’s lack of notoriety & the conflict overall, as well.
He’s hopefully satisfied in that they wrote some AMAZING songs in Dokken.
Ultimately, I agree he would of arrived at the same mountain anyway. He’s to amazing of a guitarist. Honestly, Ozzy & Sharon might of screwed up his career anyway.

@@RS-ol8or agreed. Look at what happened to Jake. Jake was so bitter about his treatment in Ozzy and the Gillan situation; he got so disillusioned with the music industry that he has only put out a handful of records, whereas George has been on like 50 albums. Lynch fans are lucky to have such a vast catalog to enjoy forever.

Sharon was informed by a roadie and then the bloody bus head butt incident with Ozzy occurred.
