ITALIAN C27 SPARTAN BEING FLOWN LIKE A FIGHTER JET AT RIAT 2022 4K

- Forget The fast jets!! The Pilot of this C27 Spartan from the Italian Air Force has no perception of gravity. This is one display I never miss on my annual visit to The royal International Air Tattoo. As if going inverted several times during the display then watch the Landing and imagine being on board.
"you can't fly a c27 like a fighter jet"
some italian Pilot: hold my Chianti
Takes me back to the legendary Dutch F27 of the 70s 80s 90s. Remaind my all time favourite
Small enough, powerful engines, good pilots and that's it.
Awesome video dafydd.and spectacular flying by this crew
Thanks Andy, the pilot here is just incredible 👌
beautiful footage once again. Thanks!
Italians always put on a great display every year....especially the RSV probably the only time we'll get to see a flying Tornado in the display
Great filming. Wow, impressive flying but testament to how strong the airframe is and how powerful those engines are.
Engines are the same that are on the C130s.
@@autogyro333 Clearly in a military role, it wouldn't be doing too many loops and rolls, so that assessment is pretty much false.
The stress on this empty plane flying like this is far less than the stress of flying it normally with a full cargo load
Why the surpsrise? It was originally designed by the same guy who designed the G55 fighter plane. ;-)
Crap pilot I guess
Proudly of this italians. Awesome frames, as usual. Thank you.
Had to be Italian... Bello, molto bello!
Italians Plane and Pilots..N.1
Aeronautica Militare School..the same of famous Frecce Tricolori..🇮🇹
A Great Plane and a Great Display...hope no Soldiers onboard..!!!
Incredible flying and lovely respect with both flags and waving for the crowd. Fantastic
One of the most impressive peices of flying of any aircraft I've seen. Camera on the pilot would be awesome
Displaying the flag of the other country demonstrate also that these amazing pilots are also great gentlemen.
How could anybody not be impressed with that. Great video.
Thank you.
My favourite display of the event. Unbelievable manoeuvres in such an airframe. Respect to the pilot... And any passengers!
Охренеть! Если бы не увидел, не поверил! Крепкая машина! Ну и пилоты просто КРАСАВЦЫ!!! Полное восхищение!
That is AMAZING!!! I didn't know an aircraft like that one could even do those maneuvers... WOW!!! The skills of those pilots are one n a million they fly it like it's a small RC plane yet it's a 70,000lbs. plane...!!! It's just Remarkable!!!
Italian pilots are the best in the world
I'm not sure if taking risks makes you best in the world.
@@caribbaviator7058 It depends on how much of the risk you take but mostly of how good you are in handling that , which makes the best pilot .
my father flies the C-27J, he is stationed in Pise, serving in the 46th Aviation Brigade. I've been on this airplane since I was little, and the things it can do...stunning.
Rispetto tantissimo il lavoro che tuo padre fa per l’Italia ❤
@@filgiupo4853 grazie mille, anche io voglio seguire le sue orme
That was incredible. Probably a jet jockey snuck into the cockpit and fired that baby up. Those pilots did a outstanding job. Popping the hatch and flying the flags.....the best! My flag is different but we all know the pride in waving our flags. Again thank you for being there and sharing this cooler than cool aircraft show..
That nose dive was so cool to watch, fantastic action!
Wow didnt expect that. Thats the best pilot i ever did see
Italian pilots are amazing.Italian plane, wow.
What a machine! That pilot knows what he's doing.
What an ACE pilot and obviously the Spartan can handle all that, impressive
Nice. Really cool. Must be a pretty tough airplane.
This pilot is an Ace. Period. If you watch it live you understand what he and the aircraft are capable of.
Wow! Seen this brilliant plane fly at Riat a few years ago. Never fails to impress! Amazing aircraft, amazing pilots!👍
Brilliant footage. I saw the C27 Spartan at Farnborough in 2010 and RIAT in 2011 I believe it was, and it was very similar to this display. Everyone on the ground was just totally amazed
Si l'ho visto anch',io a zeltweg..incredibile pilota. Grande italia
Certainly one of the stars of the show for me, some of those maneuvers were seemingly impossible on the airframe! The crew were absolutely amazing.
Agreed 😎👍
Italian ……
none of those maneuvers put more than 1g on the airframe.
@@lmo1131 Agreed! And superb energy management too. I've seen a C130 looped, all done at 1g.
@@neilfoster814 You can't loop at 1g. A wingover you can.
It's crazy to see an aircraft with propellers pulling off those moves! Very impressive!
And it's not just some small single prop stunt plane.... It's a f*cking cargo aircraft.
My prop corsair would pull these maneuvers off with ease
Always a big pleasure to see the Spartan. So much quality.
Couldn't agree more!
I got to see this live in Halifax, NS, many years ago. They were showing the Spartan and the C295 off to the military as a replacement for our SAR Buffalo here in Canada.
Of course they chose the C295, (mistake I believe), but to see an aircraft that size of this, be able to pull off those maneuvers. It's crazy!
Yup, they picked the wrong plane alright. How many years behind is the RCAF C295 project now? When the USAF dropped their C-27Js, the US Coast Guard was happy to jump on them!
The Canadian SARTECH's are some amazing people i saw them in action once. They do superb displays and ground displays too. I applaud them and the CANSAR system, wish we had them in the UK, our government butchered our Maritime Patrol and SAR services.
Wow, a great Pilot! 👍👍👍
Saw this live at RIAT, ridiculous how nimble this aircraft was
Wow! For the first time I saw the cargo aircraft does the Nesterov's loop! ... Bravo to the designers and pilots!
Awesome video. Seen the Spartan a few times, but it always really impresses me. Great flying and display!
I watched this when i attended on the Sunday, definitely in the top two displays of the day, absolutely incredible.
3:10 plot twist: now same backwards.
these pilots have serious skills and way too heavy balls
Magnificent maneuver on this C-27J Spartan 😎🤩
So
Much cooler than any fighter performance!
3:10 For a moment I thought the pilot wanted to take off backwards 😄
Now that would be something to behold :D
Hello from Ukraine
Holy crap! Bavo Italia, magnifico!
Pilot: Loadmaster, check the handbrakes on those trucks you have in the back there, would you?
Loadmaster: Checked sir, why?
Pilot: Oh, no reason...
🤣
Some people know how to fly...and it shows.
You tell that because they have fun doing it
I saw this & for such a bulky plane the pilot made it look so graceful & athletic. Awesome flying. Great photography too.
Just tell me, did he get the As The Crow Flies trophy? I sure hope he did, that was very impressive.
Faaaan-TASTIC; both this fab airplane and the VIDEOGRAPHY. Bravo
Happy you enjoyed 😎✈️
Excellent flying, great filming, much respect to all concerned
And when I think of those who can't back a compact car down a 50-foot drive...
DAYUM!! Smoooothest barrel rolls seen in a minute.
Most people can’t stop their cars that fast! Brilliant flying and wonderful aircraft!
Definitely earned it's name. A go pro on the pilot would be amazing.
Wow . Some flying skills plus excellent aircraft !
That landing was butter too!
Excellent shooting! Thank you so much! The sound is fantastic and the flying spectacular 👍🏼❤️
That is simply stunning.
Someone forgot to tell him its a tactical TRANSPORT. Brilliant bit of flying and **very** impressive aircraft.
@@melino55 I think that is very true such capabilities can save lives in many scenarios. It seems much more capable than the C160 Transall too, it would be good to see a four engined version in comparison to C130. Stay safe, all the best from UK
@@robshirewood5060A four-engine C27j...in fact i would say then a ...C47j i don't think it will efver builtfor many reasons, the main one i would say is economic. The philosophy of this machine also derives from that of the G,333 and G.91 light fighter, winner of the NATO competition in the 1960s (but not later adopted by the USA). In practice aircraft that could also land on short dirt runways, practical and robust.
A cordial greeting from Turin, Italy
@@melino55 I agree, but one can dream. A nice new C47 I like the idea. The G91 was a lovely aircraft, especially as you say for the tactical operations, much like the Swedish aircraft, and our Harrier (sadly missed). I loved the lines and form of the G91 my great uncle was from near Rome (married to an English aunt) and he said it has the class of a Ferrari ,Italy has had some beautiful designs often overlooked. The C27 is another one. I wish the RAF had some. I return the friendly and generous greeting to you from UK. Stay safe, all the best.
@@robshirewood5060
The G91 reminds me of the days when safety was not yet in the "aviation vocabulary" and airshows were incredible, especialy when flown by the Frecce Tricolori.
The G222, from which the C27 Spartan takes its origins, was even more impressive and they had to ban some manouvers because considered extremely dangerous (Barrel Roll with one engine inoperative)....scary to say the least.
Today airshows are more appropriate and safe but some things are obviously lost, which is the price to pay and I don't regret it but, if you watch some old videos from the past, the G91 did some pretty cool stuff with 313° Gr. (Frecce Tricolori).
Cheers mate.....
When I saw this display back in 2011 at Airshows Downunder in Avalon, Australia, the scariest part was when i examined the still images later and saw large areas of 'oil-canning' between the frames of the fuselage when under positive 'G'!
Very precise and sharp. Credit to the pilot and the control system.
Love this plane, incredible skills. Thank you Dafydd 💥🌟💥
Didn't think the (fly-by-wire) controls allowed sideslipping but the pilot really removed some altitude before landing. Impressive flying.
Yes, that sideslip was very impressive. I was always warned NEVER to sideslip with flaps down.
Well if l didn't know better l'd say that was Bob Hoover at the controls !! Complete mastery and control ......wonderful !
Great Plane and Great Pilots from Reparto Sperimentale Volo (Italian Air Foce Test Pilot Wing)😎
I saw the C27 display at AAD 2006 at AFB Ysterplaat. Was blown away by it then! Still am. I have some photos of it somewhere.
Good filming - first saw a C27 pulled that level of maneuvering at the Paris Airshow in 2011. Real shocker then.
Super, muita habilidade!👏
Wooooow!!!! the pilots are impressive!!!
These boys know what they're doing great flying and wonderful bird
That's an ex- F 16 pilot. Easily the best display this year!
For what reason?
Absolutely awesome Plane Spotting video once again Dafydd I enjoyed watching your videos very much indeed and thank you for uploading this video for me today.
Damn i would have loved to have been on the flight deck of that aircraft, imagine being a paratrooper in the back, "has everyone got their sick bag", si signorie , "good then i willa beginn" I had the pleasure of jinking about at 700 feet in a C-130, and have never been airsick, but that would have been fun. wonderful display
Barrel rolls are one thing but the loop was impressive
OMG DAFYDD that pilot is crazy WTF he probably did not learn that from a GAME CONSOLE 😲 shittt the pilot must be NOT HUMAN. Damnnn
At 0:38 the pilot was saying, "I am dead serious, guys, where's the f**king manual?"
🤣🤣🤣
Co-pilot of the Italian FC-27 Spartan: He’s going vertical, Signore Mav. Go get ‘im!
My favourite solo display from RIAT 2022. Amazing piloting skills on show. Great footage!
Bloody impressive ! …👍👍
Those some hella experienced pilots. Respect.
Great Show. Very Good Pilot
Wow...perfect landing and perfect display who would have thought a C27 could do that!
The C27 manoeuvres WOW WOW, just awesome !!!!!!!, thanks Dafydd
Wow, that assault landing was a grease job! 🤙🏼
How about a 9 ship c27 display team now that would be impressive.
Indeed 👌😎
We need the cockpit video!! Amazing!
Badass demo! The C27 is a beast
Bob hover is smiling down upon that pilot
Wow! That's a superb wee birdy. What a display. Just superb.
Thanks for sharing with us unfortunates that couldn't get down. Superb Sir 👍🏻
Incredible flying 👍🏻thanks for sharing
For our next trick, we'll land the Red Bull jet in the back, while flying.
A large aircraft performing in this manner...Amazing?!
With how maneuverable that thing is, it'd simultaneously scare and impress WW2 prop planes that see it moving like it is for its size and duties it was meant for.
Are these C130 little brothers?
Anyways, manouvres were definitely impressive, but the perfect landing with the quick stop was probably even better.
The crew must have massive confidence and trust in each other and in the airframe to attempt these sorts of maneuvers in a two-engined mail van. :)
A hugely impressive display, the simulated combat landing was amazing, just fell out of the sky but touched down light as a feather. Awesome flying.
Amazing aircraft, amazing talented aviators.
Fantastic camera work. That is amazing for a transport plane.its not just the plane a lot is down to the pilot skills.
I was there
He normally doesn't fly like that. But he found out some politicians were in the back.....
🤣🤣
He could have dropped Italian politicians like empty fuel tanks.
Great video and impressive flying!!
