    I'm guilty of retiring once it gets past about 9-10 o'clock but- mostly because I'm getting older and have some health issues- can't take the direct sun for long. Sitting on a kayak in the middle of a lake- it will cook you man. If you live in the southeastern US like me- it gets unbelievably hot in July and Aug. But- that means sunrise is perfect- still nice and cool out, the fish are generally feeding topwater- there is literally no other experience like it huh? Feels like sitting on a big piece of glass, watching the dragon flies skim along its surface, the iridescent sunrise reflecting off it- then some hog smashes your frog and slaps you back into reality as you set the hook and remember why you got up so early. I love it. Great video guys- definitely some good stuff in here, even for guys who have fished a long time. A lot of it I had learned or heard but forgotten along the way- it happens. Thanks for the help.

      It gets really hot where I live as well. I am younger still so I am going to stay in the heat until I hit that age. I know a few older anglers that are not allowed to fish during the middle days of summer. Good luck to you this summer!

    Shade lines and hard defined edges are so important! I love fishing blue bird skies during the day. You know exactly where those fish are set up along shade lines. That's when I do my best fishing.

    Some great stuff Jimi. I love the heat of the day, most people pack it in, I get my tan on but always have sunscreen and a hoodie.

    I feal like most people are like myself, we only get to fish mainly on the weekends. And my local lake is absolutely filled with pleasure boaters on the weekend during the middle parts of the days. So thats why during the summer, i do all of my fishing at night. Ill start a couple hours before dark, and fish all night long. Its wayyyyy more peaceful after dark lol

    Full coverage sun shirts and a big straw hat. Been dressing that way for a couple years now and it helps so much. Also love catching bass middle of the day on topwater. Definitely usually a bigger bass that hits it too.

      Awesome! I may need to look into the straw hat - Jimi

      @stoneysdead689 Рік тому

      Hey bud- thanks for sharing- can I ask what kind of straw hat? I've been thinking about getting one- I'm really light complected and the sun just cooks me. Aftco has a decent looking one for around 40 bucks. But I'm suspicious you're paying mostly for the name and that one of these no name straw hats for 10 bucks from any gardening store would be just as good. Does the one you have hold up and remain comfortable?

    All of them! 👍 I even use moisturizing sun screen to keep my face from roasting… it sure helps!

    Skin care is a good point. Hydration is important too. I think we as fisherman can sometimes focus on fishing and get in the zone and then pretty soon, we realize we haven't had anything to drink in a few hours. Always nice to bring a small cooler or thermos with ice cold beverages when you're fishing in the middle of the day.

    What lures do you suggest for fishing shallow bluegill beds in the post-spawn and early summer?

    • @BassFishingDeclassified
      @BassFishingDeclassified  Рік тому +1

      Good question. This can depend on the type of lake you are fishing. If you are fishing shallower areas, a buzzbait is a choice. If the bluegill beds are deeper which means the water is more clean, a walking style topwater bait/popper. A big worm is another choice I like to use when targeting deeper beds. - Jimi

    When it comes to fishing shad lines think about what we have that fish don't have We have eyelids imo fish will set up in the shade for several reasons but one has to be to keep the sun out of their eyes

    I would like to fish middlenof day or later but our lakes here in Arizona are flooded with jet skis, Wave boats are causing havoic for bass boats.

    • @BassFishingDeclassified
      @BassFishingDeclassified  Рік тому +1

      Man…. I understand that. I stay away from those lakes or run way up the river arms to get away from the traffic. That is another reason why I preferred the Arkansas river when I was growing up… it did not attract the crowd of people that just boated. Thanks for watching - Jimi

    How are you gonna talk about how important the moon phase is but not say which moon phase you prefer??

    • @BassFishingDeclassified
      @BassFishingDeclassified  Рік тому +1

      I intentionally did not since I would of maybe spoke 5-10 minutes on it. So I decided to keep it short because I wanted this video in the 10-12 minute range. - Jimi.

    • @BassFishingDeclassified
      @BassFishingDeclassified  Рік тому +1

      Also hard for me to say which one I prefer. I will consider other factors with it. Weather and water levels all need to match up with moon phase at times. - Jimi
