😅🤣🤣 You said..."I never expected to be smacked in the face with REAL!!! Nice reaction dude
You have raised a VERY VERY good point tho brother!!! Something I have never thought about before... You have raised in my mind a question...
I'm 52! I grew up surrounded by everything Elvis! My mum adored him. Everyone did! He was everywhere!!! I watched all his movies. I thought I heard all his songs!
I heard this song 2 weeks ago after watching the movie!!!! Never heard it before in my life!!! How??? How is that possible???
You also said, that we have been talking about this message of peace for years, over and over and no one hears
I have a question about that!!!
When have you ever heard this song played on the radio?
    Name a time!
    When?
NBC refused to play it in 1968 and I've never heard it played on radio since then!
    Get my drift?
If this song was Elvis's most powerful message about PEACE written in 1968... how come it's never played on radio?
Just because we talk about peace.. doesn't mean that our message gets published. Yeah?
Has this message about peace, as sung by him, been purposely banned from being publicised for 54 years?
Name a time that you have heard this song (this message from Elvis) played on the radio!!!!!!
    Name a time!!!
Imagine if the entire world was to react to this song all at the same time. Imagine it!
What damage could that cause to the war mongerers in power?
What damage could that cause to the type of people that would do something like assassinate Dr Martin Luther King?????????
How come you and I have never heard this song on radio?
    It's just a question!

This is considered to be the greatest stage performance ever given by any entertainer. He is
considered to be the most beautiful human to ever live..photographic memory..hearing a song once he could sing it..4.5 octaves..amazing breath control..sang bass , baritone both tenors..gospel, rock, pop, opera, rhythm blues country number 1 records in each category listed..top paid movie star played many instruments, sang at age two..taught himself to play the piano and I could go on on into infinitum. This song was written just for him because he believed what was in the song.

Oh man you've made my day with this one..
This is my ALL TIME favorite Elvis song. It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.. it has such a powerful message !!
There is actually an even more powerful version of this song, where they edited clips of Dr. Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speach into the song..
the song was written right after MLK was shot !!
Elvis was so multi talented.. He could do Rock, Country, Gospel, Soul and R&B... and he did each and every style to perfection !
I have been a Elvis fan since I was 6 years old.. my older sister had a crush on him and she played his music all the time..
When he died in 1977 I was only 8 years old.. and I cried for days...
I was so sad I never got to see him live in concert.
Back in 2009 I went to Memphis and visited the Graceland estate.. oh man did that make an impression on me !
That same year I went to a concert where he original band and backing singers performed, and Elvis appeared on a large screen in the middle of the stage..
I was the closest thing for me I could get to seeing him live on stage !!

Elvis preachin' is the best Elvis. Never fails to touch the soul...
He started his career singing gospel and never forgot it (though his managers might have). This was all him, demanding he'd end this 'comeback special' with this heartfelt tribute to MLK (against the wishes of his record company, but he pushed it through).
According to several people in the band, he went back to his dressing room immediately after that 'thank you, good night' and just curled up in a ball on the floor, emotionally exhausted. He meant every word he sang here.
The Vegas impersonators are such a sad travesty of the force of faith and soul that Elvis was.

I've been an Elvis fan since 1956 when I was 11 I'm now 76 so do the math 54 and 55 Elvis's plant paying his dues playing all the little nightclubs around Louisiana Texas whatever he could sing but in 1956 song Hound Dog overnight we have ervic early footage of him on The Ed Sullivan Show the Milton Berle show several other shows it shows you how it really rock and roll how he could get down he is to go to greatest of all time he was the Entertainer of the 20th century he's in for halls of Fame rock and roll gospel rhythm and blues and country he has the charisma that looks the Boise Stage presence and the moves his voice changed some after he came out of the army and as he got older it got deeper but it was always fine as wine Elvis Junkie right up to the last performance even though he was swelled up some loaded in the face son because he did have a heart attack even though they found drugs in his system his right side of his heart was twice or three times bigger than the left side so heart attack is the official death the death records standing in system it all played apart but the number one thing that killed him was Colonel Tom Parker who worked him to death he signed him up for what 31 movies all through the sixties which led to the 68 Comeback Special which led to the 73 aloha Hawaii Special Forces led to the Vegas days that break Vegas stays again and then Elvis on tour where they said Elvis have been in 15 cities and 15 nights took 50% of Elvis's earnings when Elvis was a tall or didn't feel like going onstage he went anyway I do not like the last two performances that they put together to make the CBS special Elvis in concert six weeks after his last concert Sammy's Presley his father tried to get CBS not to air that because Elvis was not at his best but the boys never felter faltered on his last performance AKA Elvis Junkie

Not one of Elvis’ own favourites! He said during the recording session “The goddamn thing is as long as life itself!” He only recorded it because his friend Lamar Fike, who was working for a music company, brought it in for Elvis to record. Elvis always found it hard to say no to his family and friends.

👍You hit it when you said gimmick sadly a lot do see him as that who don’t know him due to impersonators wearing ill fitted jumpsuits and dad dancing ,this 68 show was fantastic , though if you go back to 1950s things changed like never before when Elvis hit the world the image that voice nothing like this was seen before all respect to little Richard Chuck Berry they are legends also but I’m talking about commercially he was the whole package and more , if possible tune into the 50s and that great 1960 post army interview it’s along way from jumpsuits . has there ever been a cooler guy ?? NO

A stunning performance from Elvis, which was his tribute to Martin Luther King after he had been assassinated, & also the assassination of Robert Kennedy not long afterward. Elvis privately supported the MLK movement, & as a teenager shooting to global stardom, he had suffered racism, from his own White people, because he was bringing black-influenced music in a fusion of country, blues, & gospel, to young white audiences, & he refused to keep away from his Black friends. Elvis had been raised in a poor Black community, as one of four very poor white families to live in this Black community. Elvis’ friends were the Black children living around him, & he grew up with a strong affinity for Black people & their music.
