Jim Henson's Creature Shop™ Reel

- Jim Henson's Creature Shop™ provides digital visual effects, animatronic creatures, animation and soft puppets to the international film, television, online and advertising industries.
The fact that they brought actual puppeteering to CGI with Sid the Science Kid would probably make Jim proud. That's a hell of a clever idea they did.
He actually did that almost two decades earlier: ua-cam.com/video/fP0EwL1AMFQ/v-deo.html Unfortunately, that was all the character was: just an excuse to show how far the technology had come.
@@yosefdemby8792 You know I think Brian Henson, of the Jim Henson Company, should make an attraction called The Jim Henson Creature Show at Universal Studios in 1995. Where the puppet anamatronic creatures and digital effects from the movies and TV shows, created by the Creature Shop, can perform live on stage.
What do you think it would be like to see The Jim Henson Creature Show at Universal Studios, Orlanda, Florida? Please reply back ♥
The background theme reminds me of cartoon network
Why does the beginning of the music sound like the Cartoon Network jingle?
Omg I wasn't the only one who thought that!
@@cfan6716 me too Bruh!!
I'm happy they're able to do comedies such as The Country Bears and Earth to Ned. Most of the time they do drama.
Whoa, I didn't know they did the animal effects in "George of the Jungle."
Well they also did the effects for the 1994 live action flintstones movie
I didn't know either
@@christiantracey1479 Have you ever seen Jim Henson’s Animal Jam?
The Jim Henson Creature Shop team also did 101 Dalmatians
you forgot jim henson's animal show, the smildon from los angeles, the muppets, dinosaur train, bear in the big blue house, labyrinth, neverending story, dark crystal and a whole more
Yes, and I think that if Jim were alive today, he would have been doing a lot of what was being done now. They are continuing his legacy. And yes, digital/virtual puppets WERE in fact Jim's idea, we have Waldo C. Graphic to prove that. He came up with the idea before the first CGI feature film was even produced! Just goes to show everyone how ahead of the times he was. :)
Great Stuff. I remember sitting and watching John Stevenson sketching out this Creature Shop Logo at Downshire Hill. It does the distinctive job!
Your so lucky!!
@@shellymanway9250 Have you ever seen Jim Henson’s Animal Jam?
It's all so diverse, it's amazing! 😍
1:11 the clip of the Grand High Witch in this reel promo still takes me back and still creeps me out to this day! (Thanks for the Nightmares Jim!)
Jim: you’re welcome
Jim henson animal jam is my favorite TV show in 2003!
I miss the puppets.
kinda bummed out that they didn't show at least a clip of either TMNT 1990 or TMNT 2 secret of the ooze, but probably it's due to copyright reasons i suppose.
Jim Henson, you’ll always be in our hearts. 🥺💚🥺💚🥺💚🥺💚🥺💚🥺💚🥺💚🥺💚🥺💚🥺💚🥺💚🥺💚🥺💚🥺
1:00
That Griffin sounds like Gilbert Gottfried and the man looks like Zach Galifianakis
Jim Henson is an icon.
Pause at 0:32 & you'll see Bozark from Animal Jam
Wow! Now all that is awsome. I wouldn't mind watching some of those things sperate from the whole reel. Cool also to be the first poster.
Love your work so much
I’m glad that Jim Henson’s Animal Jam was in this video.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
@Jman92854 I think that's an old show called The Story Teller or it could be part of The Jim Henson Hour.
Who knew puppetry was so complicated.
0:22 Fox And Knox!
0:32 Bozark!!!!
0:00-0:12-0:34-1:54 Sid The Science Kid! YEAH!

And dinosaurs
0:32 I used to love that show just because of the elephant!
You mean bozark from animal jam
Haha, the gasmask hedgehogs! Anybody remember what the commercial was for? I remember seeing it alot, but not the product....
Some kind of Garf Mercedes 🦔🦔🦔
@TheSympathy11 That Griffin bares a striking resemblance to the Fire Gang from Labyrinth.
whoa! the dragon at 1:00 looks a lot like a firey fron "the labyrinth" XD
Actually that’s from the storyteller
But replacing the felt originals (ex: claymation Bert & Ernie)?! No, I doubt he wanted to rely solely on digital media. It's like comparing regular books from book stores to something like a Kindle. There's more magic IMO in something one can actually feel tha something created by a machine.
It's neat how they have some Sesame Street clips in here.
Congratulations on your Fnaf Animatronic designs, my Friend.
Jim Henson and the people associated with him are all geniuses.
Nostalgia’s amazing 🥲
@ishouldplayzelda
Yeah... Jim Henson was known for his puppetry, so CG just doesn't really suit him OR his company. But the CG doesn't LOOK bad, in fact, I like the lioness character they showed on here. :) Shes very pretty. But something is amiss without the puppets when you hear or see Jim's name on a CGI movie. Labyrinth, Labou, Pinocchio and Dark Crystal FTW.
The Clip At 0:17 Is A Heiwa Commercial
@The Jim Henson Company I hope you’ll upload more Jim Henson’s Animal Jam episodes really soon.
can someone give me a list of everything they showed in that reel cuz since when did they do a hugging lion and zebra?
a ton of their puppets freak me out xD
Please, what music is used? Fantastic Job anyway !
It's funny because I've seen practically all of those movies/shows/something else.
I believe it's one of their commercials that they've done.
0:02 that was from good morning with coo
at 0:20 OMG its T.J. Bearytales
i have one of those
0:19 When will we ever see the T.J. Bearytales movie and animated series?
0:00-0:10 The music you created is a similarity and sample to the Cartoon Fridays from Cartoon Network!
I was thinking the same thing!

@ishouldplayzelda yea they should rename their company cuppets (computer puppets). cuz muppets is (marionettes and puppets)
The Movie At 0:48 Is 'Pride'!
100% of the comments: “What is this scene from?”
1.5% of the comments: “The beginning music sounds like the theme music to Cartoon Network’s Cartoon Cartoon Fridays!!!”
@Jman92854 I found out from which movie it was. 'The Storyteller'
Wow
The creature shop did a lot of movies like
The flintstones live action movie
Small soldiers
The witches
Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy
George of the jungle
Babe and it’s sequel
Buddy
Farscape (wait that’s a tv show not a movie)
And of course their original movies
The dark crystal and labyrinth
It is from one of the storyteller shows I believe.
@ishouldplayzelda they're CGI puppets, not purely CGI. I think Mr. Henson would have been really impressed by it.
LAWL 1:37 XD POOR BEAR XD
#jimhenson
1:48 what was that from.
Puppet Up or Stuffed and Unstrung
Its an improv touring show
Since the early 2000s
From what movie was 1:03? Looks pretty funny.
What's the music for this video?
what is the one with the cobra dancing
Aliens in the family.
What kind of show are these red blue cyan aliens from frances?
Could someone list all the places those clips were from. I recenise the Labyrinth, Sid the Sicence kid, and one or two else.
there use to be a show were there was a alien family and a human family but i remember is the baby alien does any body know what that show was called??
1:46 what show was that
I totally disagree. I love the Muppets as puppets, but Jim Henson was open to other mediums such as CGI and experimenting with it before he died. Waldo C Graphic was a computer generated Muppet that was created in 1989. A CGI Kermit was also being experimented with, but dropped because it was not yet possible. I'm not saying that the Muppets or Fraggle Rock or other existing characters should be replaced with CGI, but it is another medium that can be used for storytelling, and they can co-exist.
O.o Where is that gryphon at 1:00 from?
what creature is is in the minute 0:31
It from "5 Children and It".
anyone who thinks jim would be angered by CG should remember Waldo, one of the first RC CG creatures. He was not "old school", in fact he was very much an innovator. He believed fully in the advent of HD TV, Cable Programming, Computer Graphics all before they existed and/or became mainstream.
if he were around today I believe he would be doign what he always does, innovating the way stories are told without ever sacraficing the story telling itself.. he was and walways will be the master
That the heck this this show on 1:42
I believe it's brats of the nebula
Something like that

That was Stan Winston. I meant the other one.

That’s actually from the storyteller greek myths, from the icarus myth
That’s the part where they attempt to fly

@ishouldplayzelda Well if any of you knew anything about the company you would know that Jim actually started the digital puppeteering. Anyone ever heard of Waldo C Graphic? You all are just a bunch of pseudo fans who like to spew crap and misinformation all over the internet.
There is no spirit of Henson in any of this. Terrible.
