I’m a big Ohtani fan but this language barrier is starting to annoy me. as a fan it’s so disengaging when there’s communication issue. When your words are being translated through another person’s mouth the personality and emotions are not there. I really hope Ohtani learns English. It could make him relate to the whole world not just Japan.
He knows English. can converse well enough with it but he is doing this for his Japanese fans too, who majority of don't speak english. Hitting 2 birds with 1 stone with a translator.

Saw Lindors defense War numbers, he's at 32nd in mlb in defense and ranked 5th as defensive shortstop, you would think he would be at least in the top 2 if Met fans going to make a case for him, because Ohtani blows him away in every offensive statistics, and Lindor was'nt even good enough to make the first team was picked on the 2nd roster, and did'nt even make the All Star team this year because he was hitting under .200 in the first half, when did anyone get an mvp for having half a good season.
