Very nice 👏 Guru Nanak dev ji’s poetry is not only for this world but also knowledge of Brahm, which teaches us where we came from and where we have to go when we are done on this earth. So his massage is to meet Parmatama while we are breathing and nothing can be done when you have no more swas( breathes). Same massage was given by Baba Freed ji, that’s why his bani is added in Guru Grunth sahib. Only the bani of those bhagats is present in Gurbani who were one with God and there nivas was in the dargah.👏👏👏

Thanks for explaining Baba Nanak's philosophy and life... It has cleared the misconception that Sikhism is formed to protect Hinduism or somehow Sikhs are anti-Muslim. Baba Nanak's philosophy is progressive, Humanistic, and egalitarian. It was not anti-Muslim or anti-Hindu. It is indeed a humanitarian and universal philosophy. Babaji is the leader of Humanity like Buddha and Jesus.

It’s a point of view. We may not agree with some things, but it’s nice to know there is interest in knowing. Madrassas we’re teaching non Muslims even before partition. That part is a little off kilter.

Guru Nanak was man of God, for him there was only one religion(There is only religion, let everyone grasps absolute truth in life- Guru Nanak), He was on a special mission. For this he had to travel a lot from one place to another.

Sir you have not mentioned Ajuni Saibang, means His is out from the circle of life and death.
Over all very interesting brother except where he used English words explaining Guru Nanak's versions on Brahmans, pirs, yogis etc, in Punjabi they are very straightforward and easy to understand, you can say revolutionary and pinching words. Guru nanak's narration regarding kings is missing viz. Kings are butchers and their ministers are dogs etc. Good work congratulations.

Calling Nanik Sahib as just Baba or Guru Nanak is a faux pas in Punjabi culture and may be a blasphemy in Sikhism. The story of Guru Nanik Sahib pointing toward Kaba is only relevant to the subcontinent culture. Arabs do not care for such etiquettes. I have seen Arabs sitting in grand mosque with pointing their feet toward Kaba.
Sua Tiba - You Are right about feet direction as a sub-continent etiquette. This incident supposedly happened when Guru ji and Bhai Mardana were staying at an aaramgah for Hindustani muslims, and was operated by a Hindustani muslim.

It is also the effect of 'Backstanbing of Hindus, who put us in slavery again, and there continous interference in our Religion and religious beliefs... with the intensions of Show the Rightnous and Superiorty towards 'others' ... these facts also contribute to increase insecurity and hardness... So Dont mind the boys ... Everyone has equal right on 'Gurbani' as us.. as long as u dont have intentions of disrespect. ..This is a main quality of 'Nanak Gur Gobind' that he is Guru of All... He is Complete and Perfact in each and everyway .. Through Whichever mindset of Beliefs, smone will look at 'Nanak Gur Gobind' .. Nanak Gur Gobind will be Look as Perfact...He Will Find Nanak Guru Gobind as His Own and So His unconditinal Love towards All.. Thats why He is known as 'Jagat Guru'.. [Guru of Whole 'Universe']

+Vikas Arora Japji Sahib by Guru Nanak Dev ji is the composition that contains all his philosophy. There are many translations from different scholars but I recommend getting one by Osho Rajneesh. Its available on audio in Hindi.

This discussion is like a student of primary school trying to judge a lecturer of pH.d level. To understand Guru Nanak, one has to come out of d shackles of any ongoing philosophy and then to learn to meditate "as instructed by Guru Nanak". With deep meditation, we reach a point that is beyond a thinking mind, that's called "intuition" when Guru Nanak begins to be understood clearly. He brought something that was never available to the world.
Now, how cud we reach what Guru Nanak wanted to convey is to look for d company of a Holy meditating persons where his Divinity cud be understood. Guru Nanak is much away from philosophical discussions, historical knowledge, & bookish reservations.
In d last century, Sikh people have been blessed with a lot of secret & sacred saints, like Bhai Vir Singh, Prof. Pursn Singh of Dehrafun, Prof. Sher Singh of Kashmir, Attar Singh of Mastuana, Baba Harnam Singh of Bhuchovale, and a few more, like Jaswsnt Singh, Dodra wale, who carry forward what Guru Nanak wanted to say.

I think there’s a Nanak of faith and Nanak of history. Two are different entities. People here are interested in history. Faith is to the faithful.

Majority of the things were on point on a philosophical documentary basis. However, the individual misread and misunderstood quite a few writings/bani of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. All in all, the writings have a very different vocabulary with very deep meanings which can't be understood correctly by just reading the English translations.

میری راہنمائ فرمائیں. بابا گورو نانک کے بارے میں کہا جاتا ھے کہ انھوں نے واحدانیت کا درس دیا ھے مگر یہ کیسی واحدانیت ھے کہ مختلف شعرا کے کلام پر مشتعمل گوروگرانت صاحب جو کہ رب کا کلام نہیں ھے اس کو سجدہ کرتے ہیں. کیا ان کا پہلا قدم ہی شرک کی طرف نہیں جاتا ؟

Few other facts, the missing period that you talked about from 1200 to 1400 was actually lull in punjab but was actually active in other parts of India like Kabir, Ravidass and Namdev, all from the working class and not elite, making an important comment on social injustice that prevailed at that time. And all of their work forms an important part of Guru Granth Sahib.
Dr Sahib Talking about Punjab and specially people who build the movement. Guru Nanak collected their writing as well. But Dr Sahib clear very big confusion about uniqueness of Gurbani. Really a brilliant and honest person talk about Guru Nanak from other faith. from depth of knowledge of language and philosophy.we need to appreciate him.
