Schmidt was one of those rare things, a heel who knew his holds. It’s a pleasure to watch these two work the mat. Talk about a forgotten art. The wrestlers have disappeared from today’s game, replaced by acrobats, and lousy acrobats at that.

two well matched slabs of beef softening each other up like MEN... that gut hook at 23:41 by Gagne lifts Schmidt's leg up like dog and bends him over hard at 24:10 and gives him canvas nap...Schmidt better techincal fighter but Gagne's fists finding their mark with more authority... if not for cheap shot, Vern would have owned his man at the final
You gotta hand it to Schmidt he was one tough SOB.

わかんないけど、ハンス シュミット選手 アメリカでボーランドボックみたいな存在だったかも。あまりに強すぎて面白くない。😢一度日本でタッグでバーナード氏だったか、組んで試合しました。全盛期過ぎてたはずだが完勝。
