Yes, it is a very demanding vehicle. For me, shifting from i-10 to Gurkha (BS-4) was a harrowing experience. But I persisted and Gurkha taught me how to drive it. Mechanical problems are very common. I remember in Nagaland how the gear cable snapped and I had to go below the vehicle on hilly road and temporarily tie the gear lever by some electrical cables while taking instruction from Force mechanic. It is definitely not for faint hearted. BS-6 is very smooth. On the other hand BS-4 clutch is like that of truck. Gear tends to get stuck if you drive in single gear for long. You should go to gym before attempting to drive a BS-4 Gurkha. No music system, no LCD display - you will get no time for these, trust me. You meet the demands of Gurkha then Gurkha will meet yours - that is the contract. Recently I had an accident during a high speed (more than 100kph) overtaking attempt on a busy highway. Vehicle got damaged - but not a scratch on my person - even without airbags. This is the contract of safety Gurkha provides you. Jai hind...
Front left bearing of my Gurkha also got damaged and I had to cancell my journey. I have repaired first with a traveller mechanic then went to service centre which was 250 away from the breakdown place. Then replaced the bearings and checked the other, put fresh grease and packed both bearings. After that I have done almost 12000KM without any bearing issue. But that breakdown was without any sign and I got shocked. Now I check the bearing frequently, you may say in every stop, just go down on knees and have a look. One thing is sure, Gurkha will make every owner a mechanic.
Oh My God... I think it is a common but very big problem. I was thinking that it is by chance happening to my Vehicle. but its astonishing to know that it is coming from many Gurkha BS-6. Might be due to bad placement of bearing or something other. Please take care. Also thanks a Lot for your comment. plz keep supporting this channel. Have a Great Life Ahead.
@@natureandadventure1982 I am having a closer look at the bearing oil seal every now and then and from all my observations I think the oil seal of the bearing needs one solid metal locking support in the Gurkha BS-6. And an improved oil seal also may be a requirement. In my next visit to service centre, I will discuss the issue with the Gurkha engineer of North-East region. Bearing fail is sign of very very bad quality. It’s use to happen in 1980s . Unacceptable. Write e mail to force. Regarding this. Also install pipes on breather of both diff, gearbox n transfer case

@@anjjusista75 In context of Jimny and thar.. Gurkha is much much much better vehicle. I put this vehicle on most isolated and very very very very tough terrain which might resulted in these issues. Plz check ladakh, spiti, kalpeshwar videos on this channel in which almost in each video I explain good and bad of Gurkha. Look I never misguide my viewers for cheap views that is why I am recommending plz don't go for Jimmny. Go through above mentioned series and then decide. Take care

i jsut came bad from a summer trip and my scorpio could not take th 44 Deg heat. So was asking it it can take extreme temparature
