However the vast majority of the series is in fact focused on comedy. The comedy arcs in fact have very little action and mostly parody Japanese culture and or other manga. That is why this anime is more commonly referred to as a comedy anime than a action anime. Does that help explain it better?
This is what DBS is missing... The feeling of impact in their fights and blood... Their fights feel so anti climatic and empty. DBS doesnt seem like Anime more like child friendly cartoon. (My opinion)

the yato frenzy has been established in the lore since the yoshiwara arc. I don't know what's so bad about a "berserker mode". it's called cohesive writing, specially since it's totally justified for kamui at that moment to be overrun by his yato blood. the error would have been having kagura go berserk during the yoshiwara arc and never bringing up the yato blood again (which is by now one of the main characteristics of the yato race: their exacerbated predator instincts)
i love how gintoki and others still treats kamui as a family/friend than as an enemy even when they're fighting. really tugs the heartstrings :)
Remember this was all straight after Kamui had fought Umibozu and Kagura moments earlier. Goes to show how ridiculously strong he is.
