Well not exactly a Complete Mary Sue since she did have her "Fault" like becoming a Rabid Dog everytime she meets Tanya and was later "Retired" by her Allies because the most merciful thing you could do for a sick "Dog" is to put a towel over its head and blow its brains out.
Ok for clarification: The reason she was very brutally training her battalion was that she hopes the soldiers would drop out/give up on being in the battalion on their own, cause she actually DOESN'T want her own battalion, and DOESN'T want to go to war. She actually just wants back the cushy, comfortable clerk job that she used to have. BUT because 'Being X' gave her OP magic, the military wants to use that to its full potential, so she has no shot at being in an office and HAVE to fight. It is WAR, she gotta do what she gotta do
ya tho she gets those cushy desk jobs short term periodically at least. at the end of the movie she got 2 months, which she specifically requested but she also gave them a way to use her own proposal she gave them against her. its hilarious how easily she talks herself in and out of said desk job and not only proves her worth on the frontlines but as an extremely intelligent and knowledgeable person which gets her more resources, influence and command in the army. XD lol
and the reason why none of the drop out because during they second exercise she kicked the snow out of glanz(the guy that got knocked out by the avalanche) and saved his life and at the time things like CPR was not common that the soldier sees that + what they have been through make them fear that if they quit they will face consequence worse then death.
11:55 A little context here: Tanya intentionally used a very high pitched and cutesy tone here because despite being legally required to warn them of the attack due to international law so they have a chance to escape, she wanted to ensure there were no survivors, so she used that unthreatening tone so they wouldn’t take the warning seriously and ignore. the wildest truth about this is that it was literal GOD that sent him to be reborn because he didn't believe in GOD. The amount of knowledge and research is impeccable you can tell when someone literally watches a show and analyzes it VS someone who just read a synopsis and CJ is truly the champ because he puts in the work.
