Slave 1, means it will go off the first time it sees a bright flash of light. Slave 2 means it will go off in the second bright flash of light. Red eye reduction usually has two flashes, one to get your eyes ready and the second for the image. If this is the case you would out it on slave 2. Otherwise it would go off with the red eye reduction flash.
ur xplanation is very good... i've had this flash for coupla months now... and was figuring how to use it... but man ur tutorial helped me alot..... thanks buddy!!!
1. The RED faceplate on the front is actually the slave eye SENSOR. 2. "M" label for one of the LED, indicates "Manual" and not "Mode" . 3. The rubber part you thought to protect the unit while it's positioned down on its side is, actually, the cover for the PC Sync cable. I believe the 3-pronged terminal is meant for an external power source unless the users' manual states otherwise.
Thanks for your review. I just ordered the Neewer TT660 which is the newer model and slightly more powerful. I wish you would have shown how to set your camera f stops, since this is a manual flash I guess it's trial and error. I could always use it as a slave to add more light to a room.
Just to let others know. It's not a built in diffuser, yes it does slightly defuse but it's actually used to increase the angle of the light for when you use a wide angle lens.
TuberTut0rials, I've seen many of the videos on the Neewer TT560 on Utube, but no one mentions the shutter speed that will sync the flash to the camera. What shutter speed are you using and what mode do you use while using this flash? Does anyone know if it will or will not work on Sony cameras, thank you for your help...
The pop up flash when being used to trigger the slave does not affect the exposure of the picture so it doesn't matter if the pop up is turned down. You may want to just so you dont blind your subject as much or you want to save on battery but other than that theres no real reason to turn it down.
Also, while pointing the flash directly at the model isn't recommended there are cases where you have to. You aren't going to damage anyones retinas unless you are pressing at against their eye. Direct lighting is flat but in some cases you don't have a choice and there are techniques used to tell the subject to do so the flash isnt as bad and their eyes arent so squinty
Hi. I bought the Neewer TT560 Flash Speedlite for Canon through AMAZON from USA. The problem is that the camera CANON 600D does not recognize it. I tried all known means, in manual mode, and at no time recognizes it. I performed the manual flash test without connection to the camera and it works but never when it is connected to the camera.
to use this kind of flash, you need to activate this flash first then when it goes off you need to click your camera shutter when the flash goes off? sorry I'm new to photography and need something that goes off when I click the camera shutter. is there one like that if this one is not like that? thanks.
this tutorial helped me too! Tank you! i have a question why when i set the flash in the camera the flash work just one time and it stop after it. it won't continue flashig :( i don't know why? please can you help me? :)
Samantha Cedillo okay. I'm not sure why it would do that. Each time you take a shot the flash should go off, maybe its the batteries that needs to change or test the flash by pressing the test button and see if it flashes each time you test it.
TuberTut0rials When you have it at full power it takes up to 30 seconds to refresh for the next use. It refreshes much faster as you lower the settings closer to minimum power, which basically can be used repeatedly without waiting.
Thank you so much! I found what was the problem already! I was not looking from the viewfinder! lol " :) I am still learning! However your video helped me a lot of how to use this flash! :)
Nguyen Ha having to put everything on manual defeats the purpose... taking pics in the dark (the flash helps with the auto focus when its a compatible flash). If you have the Canon rebel t3i or newer... it wont be compatible.
I LOLd at "I love pouches" but thanks man. Good review! I ordered one from amazon for $34.95 + free shipping because I want my camera to look like the bawwwss! :D
What he doesn't say in the vid, probably cuz he doesn't know it, is that this flash doesn't work in hotshoe except if the LCD live view is turned off. I discovered this only after I'd bought it. It was a disappointment. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STUPID FLASH AT ALL.
Satellite? Dude are you fucking serious. You got so much to learn about flashes, and maybe what even more important much to learn about editing and making unboxing videos. 19k views a joke. Satellite fucking hell

Which is the best trigger you would suggest getting for this flash?
do you think this would be a good pop flash to light specific objects in a night shoot?

hows the flash duration, have you tried photographing anything moving with it

that is because the flash is a manual flash you have to set your camera to manual mode for the camera to work with the camera

That's weird. Are you talking about the external flash or the on camera flash.
I am talking about the external flash This is the same as that one in your video :)
