Depends on what you mean by opponent. You are determining who the opponent is from your perspective. As a lawyer you are speaking from a position of the namer of the moral high ground. How do you suppose you can avoid that?

As human beings we are all "speaking from a position of the Namer" whether it's the moral high ground or slogging through day to day living. It's not a question to avoid but to confront w/compassion and understand the stranger who is ourselves.
