I thought that figure was so cool as a kid....I mean this was is a throwback to that they included the "ice slide" accessory and it's the same classic look

It'd be alot better if the color of him and his ice sled matched; Whether it be the pearly blue or the silver. Another accessory or two would've also been nice.
His face looks like Josh Brolin's Cable to me for some reason (from the front) . I think the figure looks cool, but I do think he should've been bluer.
I have this figure, and personally I like it, it does the job it needs to do as far as I'm concerned. My main thing I'd have wanted with him was alternate hands. Also a nice little accessory they coulda tossed in was those psionic dagger-type things Blink came with, just cast them in slightly frosty translucent plastic and boom, they're suddenly icicles.
I think a figure that 'does the job' isn't much of a figure. It's like having a piece of paper under the leg of a wobbly table. Definitely needed extra hands, like the ones on the packaging
Oddly, the colours of the figure resembles his appearance in X-Men: The Animated Series. But, each to there own.
I actually need an Iceman for my collection but I think I'm going to pass on this guy. If he was blue and white, I would have bought him in a heart beat but he's some weird pearl purple silver and just... no
He should have been made like his ice slide. I wonder if some translucent blue paint highlights will help? Still, way better than previous versions.

Looks like Silver Surfer’s lost cousin. If this was shown to me without the X-Men belt i wouldn’t know it’s Iceman.
It's interesting the differences in color consistency with this figure. Mine is a very consistent whitish color, not silvery or gray, no odd dark pieces. I would have preferred it were the same color as the accessory but the one I got seems like a rarer "good" piece lol
Yesterday, my local Target had the figure while my local comic shop had the original Ice Man figure for sale for half the cost.
He looks freaking weird. You hit it right on the dot with him almost looking like the silver surfer. How can they screw up a simple task of not having him in a blue tint? Not to mention a whitewalker king looking head?
Aesthetics -- 6/10 (Don't like the color, should be the same color as the ice slide).. Accessory (Ice slide should be bigger; open hands should be included)-- 4/10 .. Articulation -- 10/10 (love this Sunfire body mold)

The Dazzler figure is the only must-have for me out of the lineup.
I air brushed blue highlights on mine and it made a big difference.

The Toy Biz Iceman with the sled was one of the first action figures I'd ever owned, so I have a bit of a soft spot for this guy as well.

I like the white shiny plastic, it looks nice, but the Iceman from the Juggernaut wave was way better in my opinion, that one actually looked like ice. I thinks this one would be better with some blue highlights? I am not a customizer, so I don't really know if a blue wash or some blue dry brushing would make it look better.
Also, no open hands for an Iceman figure feels wrong.

I think they're trying to borrow color schemes more from Alex Ross for a couple of reasons. One to blend with the 80th Alex Ross figures and two to mix and match with movie figures, which is probably WHY they're borrowing more and more from Ross. I also think this goes to why they deco'd Walgreens Human Torch with a darker belt, boots, and hands and a lighter head, to suggest a more realistic "man on fire".
Adults may not need these to mix with movie figures but I'd bet about half the buyers are parents/kids who indiscriminately mix these with movie figures.
Alex Ross draws Iceman silver and, honestly, it makes a certain amount of sense ignoring the fact that Iceman probably shouldn't be covered in thick ice at all or turn into ice but should probably in reality look more like a hypothermia victim with a 2mm clear gloss coat. Blue ice is dense and thick and doesn't make sense as moving armor anymore than John Henry Irons Steel's mask.
In any case, what makes him different from Silver Surfer is that Silver Surfer has never had ears and generally has giant eyeballs.
I remember the original 90s release and I had a blue-ish shaded Iceman but a friend of mine had one that was crystal clear. EU release Vs US release maybe? I don't know, but it could be that they were going for the crystal clear version with this one?

I couldn't agree more. I would rather see him in the Blue Tint. However, if they were going for that original release, why did they do the Ice Sled in Blue. If that was truly their intent wouldn't they match the accessory w/ the figure?... Also the torso, hips & head seem to be from a different mold compared to the extremities. Its extremely apparent in the lighting you have in the video. The torso is more grey, while the extremities are more pearlescent. This would have been a 9 for me, if they just matched ANY one of the three colors they used. Instead this is a 6, and mine stays on the card.
Gotta say I am with you on this Anthony, I sort of want to pick this guy up but I hesitate lol! I still am not sure if I like this guy or not, I feel really the color is just off and a few other things on this. Great video and honesty as always man, much appreciated to see it presented like you do as always:)
I dry brushed a baby blue paint on the figure and it came out alot better
The problem with this figure is the lack of accessories that really kills me like atleast some open hands when do we ever see iceman punching stuff? Lol
How do you remove the figure without totally damaging the card?

Wow, I can’t believe they made a silver surfer figure with no surfboard.
I saw this one in target and went why does he look like silver surfer than ice man? The shiny silver reflects silver surfer vibes way more than ice man vibes only the sled is anything that resembles ice man like rlly cut off his belt and give him a surf board and he's litterly the silver surfer. I passed on him cause of that reason but I'm kinda sad I didn't pick him up for the fact that I coulda used him as a silver surfer stand in of course getting 2 for the original ice man but still I agree they shoulda made it lime the sled colors than that silver.
I like the action figure and I preordered it for the Jim Lee set but I agree that the head sculpt could've been better (more handsome like you said) and the color should be different. I think it should look more like the one drawn in the blister, I would give him a 6 out of 10 regarding the aesthetics because of the color and head. The only good thing on the accessory is actually the color, they should have painted Iceman like it, ofc Iceman and it's ramp should be the same color. No extra hands for the Ice#$%&ingman WAKE UP HASBRO the Iceman you have on the blister has two very wide open hands. Thanks for this review Anthony!!

I agree about the color. It doesn't really say "ice" to me. This same sheen with a hint of blue would have been better.
As for what the figures are going for, I think they are meant to be an homage more than leaning one way or another.
I'm definitely conflicted on this guy, Hasbro has been doing great, but there's still plenty of room for improvement. I have to wait for payday to get a second wave(one for posing, and one to keep moc, Damn you Hasbro!) to really take a good look at him. At any rate, thanks for all your content and solid reviews.
I agree on the color of the fig. Should have been completely clear or molded in the same plastic as the sled. And that head? Wow. If you were to paint the head flesh colored, he would look like a troll. Gross. I am mixed on this one too. After seeing it in hand though, I like it waaay more than the little toothpick we got in the juggy baf wave.
He should've been colored like the toybiz marvel legends (or just like the glider) lol

I baught this figure at gamestop, it's arm was snapped in package so I had to return him... Even though this happened the figure was still great
I wasn't too impressed when i took mine out of the package, I'm tempted to repaint, but afraid to botch it.

To me he looks like a Robot android automaton type thing. Guess it could be used as cannon fodder robot badguy. Just gotta get the X of its belt. Or Maybe the X-Men made their own robots and then it back fired. Who knows. Use the imagination. But I get more Robot man rather than Iceman.

i like this figure but this would have been better if it was a little more blue.
I was so excited about this at first but after seeing pics and videos not sure I'd pay $21 for this.

aesthetics: 6/10 could’ve been an 8 if it was hued, but oh well he’s staying in the plastic anyway. & the head isn’t a big deal to me, it blends in.

I think the sculpt is the best by hasbro so far. The colour is alright. But like you said, the light wash would have made this figure stand out. Nevertheless it's a good figure.

I agree with you! He should look more like his ice sled in color! The ice sled that this this figures comes with is a joke to me! Iceman to me is one of those figures that should come in a deluxe boxset with a nice size ice sled and ice particle effects to attach to his hands to show off his power set! An Iceman figure without ice effects and a nice size ice sled is useless to me. This figure gets a meh rating from me! Iceman needs another redo Hasbro to get it right! Wrong color!

It's a 6 for me. I don't get the colour at all. I instantly thought silver surfer not iceman. He should be the same colour as his ice sled. And I agree with you his face looks so weird!

I just came from Target and I saw this Iceman and they only had 1 so I got lt. The only issue I have with it is attaching the feet to the ice slide. I got him on the ice slide and I'm good to go. The ice slide is a nice addition to the figure. Without it I probably wouldn't have gotten it.

There were two versions of the original figure one was clear blue and one was just clear I had both of them and I honestly think both of them still look better than this Iceman

I'm surprised you're torn on this. Its a horrible figure in my opinion, through and through. Very little paint that's basically the wrong color, the face is horrible and expressionless, the ice slide is oddly small and a totally different color from him, no open hands included (baffles me)....I hate it. He looks better in this video with your white backdrop and good lighting though.
Yeah, that face sculpt just isn't right for Iceman.
