I did after 190+ attempts and most times I died to phase 1 got to 2nd less than 20 times alone and used help and mimic to get to 2nd most times the only boss I haven’t beaten solo in souls series I got hella frustrated but it’s also why I admire this boss on another level she’s entirely something else

personally for me this figth was a bit frustrating . the fact is, in my 40 or so first attempt when i died i had a blast , i liked it so much some of my try i was feeling good with the way i can dodge and makes it a super great figth , just that at some point u need to pass it and then i went from a defensive kind of play (dodge attack) to a super agressive kind of play , the things is the figth suddenly didnt looks nice at all super messy like it was just "first to hit" the point is using this it was ok after 3try ... i do believe i dont like the winning with "parry serie" , not that i can do it but its not a nice figth also IMO (eventhougth surely very rewarding) . so to sum up i enjoyed my figth when i lost and felt "bad" when i succeed whish is why i feel frustrated not getting to beat her in the "nice way"

Faith is really flashy, but in my 400 hours of playing Elden Ring, I never got a reliable Faith build. I always went back to good old STR/DEX/INT builds. They just feel the most reliable in damage output to me. Also because most Faith combos require more consumables and 'special combinations' as well. So with my Faith builds I feel like I'm juggling too many potions, tears, consumables and weaponry, v.s. my reliable INT/STR weaponry.

The flask of tears is kinda odd you can get to 14 uses at +12. I hope the DLC will change this to 16 uses at +16, as if you know hexadecimal it makes sense this would be the limit.
Hi, At 2:06:32 Girls do not sweat they glow. And don't do what I did once. I was gripping the joypad so tightly I broke it. As the game was so hard I got mad at it and a pice of the joypad snapped off. I had to go and get another one for my PC. I removed the game Mortal combat 3 from my PC and have not played any fighting games like that since. ;-(
It's weird that you want to challenge yourself so much by not using magic or summons... yet you choose to use, almost exclusively, one of the most powerful weapons in the game, the Moonveil. Seems to me you would use other weapons if you wanted such a challenge. Regardless, I'm enjoying your playthrough! I just beat Malenia myself after a few days of trying and the satisfaction from finally beating her was glorious.
I resorted usin rebirth and mimic to get job done was satisfied still after 200+ attempts she’s only boss I haven’t beaten solo in souls series but next time I go I plan to for sure win it solo
honestly just the challenge itself not to use summon looks way enough... and just the fact she will probably finish the game like that its a super big achievement that a lot of us (me at least) just cant do . i mean asking to use a "weaker weapon" would be a bit to much for someone not a pro of soul game IMO .

By her own admission, she doesn't like to cheese enemies and feels bad about it.... yet she chooses to use one of the cheesiest weapons in the game. It's just weird and arbitrary. But it's cool. She can play the game however she chooses to. That's the beauty of this game and why it's so great.
Julia can correct me if I'm wrong, but imo Moonveil doesn't feel cheesy because finding it was just part of her organic experience (not intentionally seeking out an OP weapon) and she doesn't overuse the thing that's cheesy about it (the weapon art). You have to remember that part of the fun of finding a good weapon is that it's fun to use and does good damage. So in a blind playthrough (which she was doing her best to do) she had no way of knowing whether a particular weapon was 'broken' or not. It'd be different if she intentionally sought out RoB, which chatters had already said was OP. Mind you her stats aren't even good for moonveil which scales much better with int. With that build honestly it's not even an op weapon WITH the weapon art.
I'm really amazed by the extent to which a good shield makes the game so much easier, and the extent to which even a basic shield is not considered by most players. Just get the strength to use one of the greatshields, and a reasonable amount of endurance, and you can tank *almost* anything. Then its a simple matter of timing your attacks to the intervals between her regular attacks, and rolling away from the really big telegraphed attacks. But what's lame about all of this is, that the DS veterans will call you a casual for doing *anything* that makes the game any easier. Magic? You're a noob. Spirit summons? You're a noob. Any legendary weapon (rivers of blood and moonbeam)? You're a noob. Overleveling? You're a noob. Does having a strong shield get you included in that list now? Probably. But then having 15 Estus flasks and 40 vitality should also put you in the noob category. Those guys better be playing on nothing but a level 15 character with basic gear and only parries or they're guilty too

moonveil is only broken if you keep spamming the ash of war, otherwise it's just another standard katana just with magic infusion.
