      MARK'S AQUATICS I looks dead like the river Leven up here in Scotland Mark. It runs out from Loch Lomond and into the Clyde estuary. Not a bad little river. Really good for the sea trout as well.
      Thanks for the reply.👍

    Had a bit of a scare yesterday with some rocks I was cleaning. I like to get all my scaping stuff from the river or the beach, I then test them with vinegar and descaler, rinse them thoroughly and boil them before adding them to my aquarium. While I was boiling some little rocks from the beach yesterday I noticed a funky smell, went in to check and immediately started feeling dizzy. One of the rocks from the beach contained tar... I immediately put the pot out and emptied it and opened all the windows but it took me a good hour to stop feeling kinda drugged. It's all good now but it's a pity I cannot use all the rocks I had in that pot as some of them I really liked. I think I will stick to the ones from the river from now on like you do :)

    Has anyone seen any videos about how vampire/ giant African shrimp breed? I'm curious because I only recently learned about the caridina/ neocaridina life cycle and now I'm looking at my giant shrimp thinking how did you guys get here? (In the world I mean, they got to me via pets at home 👍)

    Awesome tank! My tank is still cloudy 1 week after introducing guppies and my shrimp, do I need to use something to clear it up or will it go away on it’s own? Ive been testing the water religiously and it’d at 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrate.

    I'm very impressed by the hydroelectric dam and would love to fish that river for the barbel!
    Vlad's tank looks much better now! I had to laugh at the speeded up bit, where everything in the tank was going mad... but Vlad just sat in the corner and never moved... lol

    Hi Mark. Some help if you have time. I got 2 bamboo shrimp which went in with cherries. One died after a week and the other today. I moved the second one to a faster flowing tank with rabbit and trumpet snails because I thought maybe he wasn't getting enough food. What am I doing wrong. Have also ended up putting 2 neons in with cherries due to worms for the second time even though I feed them very little. Don't seem to be having much luck. Help.

    • @MARKSAQUATICS
      @MARKSAQUATICS  7 років тому +1

      Hi Debra. Bamboo shrimp need frequent feeding as their food is very small . they need high flow areas to go to to feed. I feed Vlad a mix of crushed fish flake and spirulina and put it in the flow so it despersis around the tank so he can strain in out of the water. Make sure the worms are not planaria ok.

    • @debrapage582
      @debrapage582 7 років тому

      Thank you and whatever the worms were they neons have eaten them.

    Mark, it looks perfect for Vlad and his gripping claws, it will be so much easier for him to get around his tank now. I'm sure he will forgive soon, for invading his palace. :) I would kill for this in my living room! lol! Thank you for showing us the river, quite beautiful.

    I can’t believe I paused the PS4 to watch this... looks like this takes the top spot for entertainment for me !! Love the tank. Don’t you vinegar test stones to see if they are alkaline? And you didn’t sterilise

    • @MARKSAQUATICS
      @MARKSAQUATICS  7 років тому

      A good old scrub in tank water is all I do, and in all my years of fish keeping never had a problem. And the stone we get in the river here is a mixture of granite, pennant sand stone which are all ok. But that's a good thing you bought up about vinegar testing stone's in your area.👍😀
