This captures the heart of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Time/Darkness/Sky: The fun moments are all in there, as are the dark ones. The rescues and explorations. There was betrayal and darkness, but the friendship between you and your partner stayed strong. There's sunshine in this song and the shining wonder of the time gears. The beauty of Fogbound Lake is especially seen: there's exploring at it's finest, and the serenity of the time gear at the end. Even the story of the game was captured: At first, you were reluctant and afraid, your only goal was to find your memories. You explored with your partner, and found friendship and hope. The peace didn't last, and the time gears were centered in it all. You were called on to save the world, even at the cost of your life. But you found resolve, and you and your partner stood up and changed the fate of the world.
I the the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon project/series. It was a great series. For once, you could actually play as the pokemon, feel the happiness and other feelings they had. Experience the adventure through their eyes. Make friends that would stick by your side regardless of the situation. That's why i loves this series.
Woah great arrangement! Time to try and learn it! Just wondering, what key should i try to play this in? Should i play it in what it is in this video? Thankyeh~
Hi threelines3!! This is so amazing i almost cried (jk). I found this at the start of last year and only recently have i started to learn it. I'm only up to measure 15 tho.... -sighs- will take me a while to learn it. I have a few questions for you! Please answer these! If you do I will die happily! So, how do you get as good as you to arrange these PMD soundtracks? Where and how can I learn so that in the future I will be able to arrange covers as good as you? Anyway, thank you so much for this arrangement! I look forward to listening to your arrangements in the future (even tho the PMD games aren't as good as they were -sigh-)
+Alex Newman Hello there! Glad to receive a comment from you! Well, I have never taken any specific education for composing stuffs, so it's hard to say... I just like music and listen them as much as I like them.
+threelines3 Woa you replied! And so quick as well! Sorry to bother you (again) but I have a question about the score. You don't have to answer if you don't want to (or can't be bothered (lel)). In measure 17, when the repeat of the same little passage happens but with added harmony, the left hand notes are changed from the Eb to a Db in the fourth quaver (beat 2) and from the Bb to the Ab in the tenth quaver (beat 4). It sounds a little odd like this when played on an actual piano (but for some reason it doesn't on this...) and I'm wondering the reason why you altered it like this. Was it because of the change in harmony in the RH? Anyway, enough of me. Enjoy the rest of your day! ^ _ ^
+Alex Newman Maybe it was just a mistake, or I liked that odd sound? I already forgot the reason. Anyway it's been 6 years after I made this song... You can adapt the notes to a proper way if it sounds like it doesn't fit when you're playing and I appreciate that!
+threelines3 Mm yea okay I will alter the notes a bit then. Hopefully I can finish it soon (or at least the explorer team theme) so I can upload a video of playing it (crediting you of course). A quick question: are your arrangements written to be playable, or for how well they sound? Some of them seem quite playable but others are a mass of notes on the page (I scream every time I see it in a piece I wanna learn) ^ _ ^ I can't believe I missed this when I found your account, but today I found your rescue team 01 arrangement (the one with the epically epic ending theme and the excellently excellent transitions from song to song inside the piece). I wanted to play it but I screamed (not literally (just inside)) when I saw the third stave. I love how the other theme (I dunno the name but I remember the melody) grows from a few notes to a very emotional (again - cries -) mass of notes. After I finish explorers 06 I might try to adapt your arrangement of rescue 01 so I can even play it...
