    Nice video. However I would suggest for you to use your digital amplifier dvd player and connect it directly with your edifier sub out port. In order for you to do this you can see that behind your DVD player there's a slot for TV input which is right red RCA and white RCA port. So if you simply just connect a single RCA cable and connect it with your sub out on edifier and also connect your sony passive sub with sony dvd player, it will work perfectly and will utilize full power as well.

    Hi, nice video. My AV receiver has a single RCA output for the subwoofer, to connect with this amp I gonna need a cable from RCA to 3.5 jack. My question is the 3.5 jack must be with two section or tree sections? Thanks

    • @rtechreviews
      @rtechreviews  Рік тому

      Hey thanks, good question, I believe a 3 section 3.5 cable will split 2 channels L &. R, and I have actually bought that cable. In any case for a Sub it doesn't matter if you use a Stereo cable or a mono.

    Thanks for a very informative video… I have an old Sony subwoofer like yours with speaker wire connection, which was a part of a surroundsound stereo system I would like to hook the sub up to my home DJ set up. Could I go from the subwoofer to amplifier to a preamp mixer unit? The inputs on the mixer are 1/4 or xlr. My mixer is Wharfedale Connect 802 USB Compact Mixer for your reference . Many thanks

    There are also some TPA3116D2 2.1 amps - I have one, and just use the sub output for my Polk sub after the amplifier died. That one has low pass filter adjustment up to 200Hz

    • @AK-sv4kb

      But the subwoofer output in the 2.1 amp is only 100w rms. Any subwoofer I see to add to my bookshelf speakers have gigantic power requirements like 400-500w rms and above 1000w peak.
      Can you use the 2.1 amp with an active speaker and use the subwoofer terminals just for audio signal ? Or will it go KABOOOMM

    I really liked the video.
    I have a Pioneer HTP 200 -SW passive subwoofer with two drivers. It has 4 inputs from the my old Pioneer amp ( no dedicated sub out ) and 4 outputs to the side speakers . I have recently upgraded to a Denon amp with sub outs.
    It would appear to have some sort of electrical crossover ( at the back of the 4/4 input /output panel) to feed the two cones.
    If I connect the amp to one of the two inputs would this feed one of the cones?.
    Is there anyway to use both cones with one amp?
