    How useful. A log is kept of every time you have opened or closed your curtains. Normally, I note it manually in a small book I keep at home. But now it's done automatically to my phone so I can reference it from anywhere in the world. Life changer.

      I highly recommend these me and my wife are both disabled and we have to climb on the sofa to close living room curtains . so we very really close living room curtains found out about this product so decided to buy them. quite lot of time and needed and had to use hockey tape on my curtain rail but the patience has paid off and they work great
      Also recommend switchbot I used it on my heating system to turn my old thermostat into voice-activated heating as I can't install smart heating as I live in rented home. This small switchbot has changed my life as I suffer from muscle spasms I need the heating on at random times day and night

    I have been looking *forever* for a way to make my curtains smart so they will open at sunrise and close at sunset, an established routine which would help with a health condition I have. Everything I have done across is either so expensive or poorly made.
    Thank you for making this detailed video and for letting me know the Switchbot exists!!! You’ve made a difference in my life (and the icing on the cake would be if I was one of the giveaway winners).

    I am very pleased with how the SwitchBot Curtain works. I forgot to mention, the SwitchBot Curtain does require a SwitchBot Hub and I was also able to link the devices into SmartThings without any issues.

      Considering I've already just purchased a twin pack of switch bots, I highly suspect I've now got a purchase a switchbot hub... kind of a bummer considering ive got a hub (Philips Hue) My own fault, I should have paid more attention! That way I could have probably found smart curtains which would have worked with a Philips Hue ecosystem!

    SNAGGED CURTAINS ISSUE SOLVED! After setting up a pair of switchbot curtain bots nevermind the first bot didn't have much grip on my rail but the second one wouldn't move at all, even without pulling anything.... but then after laying a strip of electrical tape on the top of my curtain rail, I noticed the frist bot had more grip! So after adding an extra length of electrical tape on underside of the rail as well. I now find with the extra grip that both bots work perfectly! hope this helps 👍

    Man I really wanted one of those! I got so excited by this video, but then I realized the price! I cannot afford that, so I hope there are other options that are cheaper. It still looks really cool. If I was able to afford one, I would use it to auto close the curtain in my bathroom, for privacy, in my living room so I can’t say Alexa movie mode and have a dark room, bd finally in my and my parents who are getting older bedroom to help wake us up naturally and refreshed! Great video though, I appreciate you going though the full product and giving us segments with well editing. It is a great way to show us a product and help people who have it set it up all in one. Also you saved me when it came to my free LIFX light bulb so thanks! Also next time I hope you take a little bit to talk about the product a bit more and with the price, but that is just personal preference! Stay safe!

    I actually have 2 comments.
    1) My curtains are almost like yours (rod and grommet) but the curtain "sticks" on the rod - it does not slide smoothly and I need to push each section of curtain to close it. Can SwitchBot handle that in some way?
    2) The schedule portion of the app definitely needs a "sunrise and sunset" option. That's when most people move their curtains.

    • @TechWithBrett
      @TechWithBrett  3 роки тому +2

      1. I will need to do some further testing to see if it can work. Mine actually wasn't attached properly so It could go over the bump.

      From my experience, it keeps the calibration regardless of how much it's moved manually. I deliberately tried to move the device to change the calibration location of how far it was open, but it still returned to its original position when I set it to open again.
