Parked in a California truck stop as a commercial driver, they failed to mention the dirt lot was not owned by them. Me and 75 other truck drivers woke up to 150$ tickets for illegal parking :x not to mention the vacant lot across the street full of trucks also with the little yellow tickets taped to their doors… California as a whole is hostile af and I refuse to go back after that. My google review got thumbed up 80000 times with instructions on how to park there before the truck stop had it removed.

As someone who lives in Orange County, California. It is way more worth it to get your hotel out of LA and in cities around it. Pasadena is my favorite city to hotel in if I need to be near the LA area. There's a hotel called the Saga Motor Hotel in Pasadena that is my favorite, it's like a hotel preserved in the 60s or something; WITH FREE PARKING. I had to find parking in LA one time for 30 minutes and I did this one random parking structure and after going through the same stupid pricing with the guy, I throw him a 20 and just don't care anymore. The entry lane for this structure is like a car and a half wide and I thought there was a separate exit lane. I have a 82' Toyota Cressida and this entry lane is STEEP. I mean like literally 45 degrees in angle up. I am in a low gear trying to get up this mountain AND ANOTHER CAR STARTS COMING DOWN THAT LANE. I now realize this IS the exit lane. Now because people in LA are so entitled, this guy wasn't moving for me. I have to scoot my car to the side of the wall to just get him pass and THE DUDE STINK EYES ME. I'm pretty pissed by now and once he passes I just gun it and do a burnout all the way up the single lane and park. In the end, LA sucks. I can't believe people live there.

When I go to Seattle for medical trips, at least when my mom take me, she usually rents a car. Hotel Nexus was booked, so they sent us to the Silver Cloud on Broadway. They charge $50 for underground parking. There was a parking garage literally down the road for $25ish, but it was sketchy. About 300 yards away was a hospital with an enclosed parking garage. We decided to park there for under $20.
at least seattle has a good excuse. massive population boom during earlyish 2000s because microsoft, starbucks amazon and boeing are all in the same place, so there wasnt time to redo the city with more parking for more people

Time is unreasonable, if you have record of the companies towing time, and took pictures of the parking space you might have an argument to take to court. Don't be nice to them, don't make excuses, don't admit you left the place cuz they can't prove that, if you want to be a big boy and take advantage of the judicial system, this would be a good way to get a small bit of justice against the crooks in LA.
