I like very much your videos you are calme great footage plus canoeing is awesome and your country looks fantastic thanks and keep on trucking please 👍
Another great video. You do a fine job at editing. I see you have a different canoe in this video too. One of these days that alligator is going to catch you!
At 17.50 there is camouflage material under your hammock. Is that to hide your possessions or is it to stop wind under your hammock to keep you warmer? Or something else? Regards 😀
That´s my poncho which I used to block the wind to keep me warmer. And I can also store my shoes in the space between to keep them dry. As you can see, even under my tarp everything was wet because of the damp air. See ya.

Hans, Gday mate, back safe and well. Bushells coffee and tea are with my freight, delivery to UK, by the end of the month. Just need to meet up for delivery! How’s that going to work? 😬 Regards John.
Mate, loads of water to canoe in the UK. I paddle the Thames as it's close to me. On my to do list are, the Norfolk Broads and some really nice paddling up in Scotland. There are of course, lots of other places in the UK to get your canoe wet!
Hans, Bushells has arrived. For the delivery, I think I will ride my motorbike to The Netherlands, I need to give the bike a good run out. Just need to sort out the meeting place. Do you have a Facebook page, where we can chat in private?
Hi John, read your msg by accident. Haven´t got a notification for it so I was looking for this chat to continue it. You can reach me by my channel name at gmail.
Succes en see ya.
Alu is major, Ally is back up. Cheers.
Thanks for your words. I´ve my Ally for more then a year now, as a kind of back up. Although I prefer my old aluminium one (more crocodile proof, ha ha), the Ally needs to practise too sometimes. And the more we are together, the more we get used to each other. Mine is a 16 ft, so half a foot shorter then yours. See ya next, cheers.
Kababoes I've seen you paddle some in Telemark and the Agder-boroughs. Have you ever been to Femundsmarka at the borders to Sweden, and into Sweden? I haven't been there, but it's a dream destination for Norwegian paddlers. Personally I've been in Buskerud/Vestfold where I've done some portaging, it's not very vast as an area, but kind of wild like no vell phone service. The starter lake is called Hajern, east of Hvittingfoss. Good area for some portage and maybe three or four overnighters. There's very few vids from there, I might make one next spring. You could also check out Fjorda north of Hønefoss, but is probably heavy populated during summer. Elsewhere: The borders of Norway and Sweden has a lot of great canoeing lakes such as Foxen, it's a lot of other canoeists in the summer there, but is very huge and non-portaging. Not as wild, but some parts are close enough and with solitude. Anyways, Femundsmarka is wild, lots of portaging, and there are bears there, but encounters rarely happen I've been told. Hajern and Fjorda might be posibilities. Foxen also. I hope this gives you some ideas. Veldig hyggelig at du spør :)
Thanks mate. I´ve looked at the map for those area´s and some of them might be interesting. Hajern (I found a lake with that name west of Hvitingfoss) or Fjorda. Not that far from my route. Yeah, lots of vids about the popular places but about the smaller ones are rare. Personally I prefer non-portaging because I´m by myself and not very fond of walking a distance several times to bring over all my gear. In the past I intended to canoe some Swedish lakes but as soon as I got there I was confronted with mobs of other canoeists and nature reserve rules about designated places where to camp and where not. Probably wrong time wrong place. For some reason I feel more bonded with Norway. When I´m transit in Sweden I feel restless and keep going north. When I´ve passed Drammen I feel quite again. Anyway, I´m looking forward to your vid next spring about your Hajern adventures. Cheers, Hans
Kababoes I get your point about Sverige. Their lakes are very popular because they are more 'easy paddle' especially the border lakes and further south in Sweden. We encountered very large groups of canoeists that made it kind of crowded at our trips there, and yes, it's a bit more regulated in some ways, but further north it's less crowded though and wilder. I love Sweden, but for the last years I've "rediscovered" my backyards. There's lots of great rivers to paddle too, but be aware of spring floods due to massive snow melt hence our mountains. There's much to discover, and no reservations or booking excist here (I'm sure you've noticed) Though: There's some roads to lakes you've to pay an entrance fee. Mostly it's because the ground owners use the fees for maintenance of the road to the cabin areas. But no lakes are forbidden to paddle in, and I'm sure you know that you can stay anywhere you want for 48 hours and at least 150 m distance of the closest residence. Anyways, feel free and velkommen!
Sure mate. Would be great and very kind of you. To which part you go? My 'home' is The Top End, but at the end of Feb that's not an ideal region for traveling. Floods, road closures and cyclone warnings. So I guess you go to the south or east. Right? Anyway, would be lovely to have a cuppa and share stories when you're back. Cheers
Hans, hi, I will be south in Adelaide, not by choice, I’m going because of work. I have spent some great time in Darwin, but will not be going there; this time after work has finished, I will be exploring the South West corner of Oz as I missed this last time I was there. So, would you like Bushells coffee, tea or both? I have no worries with baggage allowance, so both is easy. I’ll watch the video you recommended later. Talk soon mate. Regards John.

Great video. Love your sense of humour. Thanks so much for showing how to enjoy canoeing in the rain.

Wat een prachtig licht even voor 8 min. Mooi film. Bedankt.

Well noticed mate. This trip I used my back-up canoe.
The croc, haha, it is trained not to overtake the leader 😄
Tks for watching. Cheers
Beautiful land. Love the waterways
Some of them are lovely indeed. It always depends to the weather or season wether it´s quite or not. But I think that´s universal now a days. CU

Zo. Lekker grondig uitgewaaid. Lekker buiten eten drinken. Klooien. Mooie muziek ook er onder. Good times despite the ffn weather..
Yeah, uitgewaaid en schoongespoeld. The positive about the ffn weather is that most people stay home and the water is mine.
