One problem I have is so many channels sounds like it’s easy to make money while they all know this is a long and steady process. So why don’t you get real with people and tell them what it actually takes to make it and keep it?
While their own income reports are missing.
I agree that too many videos make it sound "Get rich quick and easy!" But this one did talk about how this seller had a professional website done... paid for Amazon ads... created content for Instagram and TikTok... So, what real stuff do you feel is missing from this video? I'm asking because I agree that it's truly vital to know.
I'm also concerned about the terminology. Shadow working isn't a "medium content" book. There's a lot of research and design going into it. There's exercises covering several facets of psychology so it's what I would call a "High Content" book.
EXCELLENT! It takes a whole lifetime, if it is based on your talents. 🌠
If one looks back through this channel's content you'll see she gives a lot of real information typically in an authentic manner, not as a "get rich quick formula". She shares her research and that creators should do the same.
Excellent as always, Catherine. Finding the right niche and supporting it with good air and ground cover, are key.
I watched 3 of your videos back to back. I usually don't subscribe to many channels, but I found your advice so extremely helpful and inspiring that I had to.
Wow! That was such awesome information, a thumbs to you for your research. That is truly inspiring!
I love this channel. She’s revealing golden nuggets.
Very inspiring! Thanks for doing this video!
Thank you for your always inspiring content!
I’m so grateful for your videos!
Those tips on calculating royalties were really cool, thank you for sharing this!
Impressed. Inspired. Motivated! Thank you for creating these videos!
Fascinating fascinating video. Thank you for sharing this inspiring story.
Excellent video! Thank you! 🤩
Thanks for sharing! Very inspiring!
Very inspired. THANKYOU
Thank you for your helpful videos i love your channel, please provide us with some good more niches with a less competition because now days low content books are flooding insanely and we need something new ❤
great insight thank you!
I have a book in my head that i rely did't know how to get out, and I just got a idea to do it! Thank you!
Ha! I see you were also a child of the 90's! I too have the default postcode set to 90210 - it's the only US postcode I know.
I noticed that as well!! made me laugh out loud! HA
It's probably the only code she knows in US haha because she is British (Or Australian, my English accents detections has gotten very bad.)
Thank you for this video
Cool video ! Thanks !
I really enjoy your videos, especially this one. Yesterday, I was thinking about creating journals with prompts, quotes etc. and I decided it would be too much work 🥴But after watching this case study I will take a deeper look and give it a try... Thank you so much for the inspiration and motivation, I truly appreciate it. 💗
Brazil, Alegria, RS, first video, very good! 🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎
Thanks for this encouraging video. I don't believe in false hope and rose-colored glasses, and I do love seeing the potential. The things I'd like to know about THIS case are: How did she determine that this niche was the way to go, and how much she had to invest up front, before she started realizing returns on her investment.
Interesting content
Also since she is offering this also in spiral bound is she offering this you think through Lulu? It's direction I am considering and curious your thoughts?
Thank you
The cool thing is that she benefited from the royalty structure change.
question on this book - would this be registered as a low content book or just regular book given that she has prompts?
Excellent video! Very informative. Thank you for creating it.
What is it that make the royalty on this book so high? - is it just because of the price of the book, or are there other factors like ranking etc?
I was researching some journals and I did see some in color I know it would make it more expensive what is your take?
"the shadow work journal" is trademarked. So be aware ladies and gentlemen.
That’s insane 😢 it’s been a trend for years in various self help and healing groups, there are far better journals and prompts out there can’t believe this will be regarded as standard from now on
Should’ve trademarked it as a basics or intro to shadow work instead
there are mountains of shadow work journals on amazon, including many from before this particular one was created. And I did not think you could trademark a book title, correct me if I am wrong.
It's a Carl Jung psychology philosophy she did not discover it.
@@bosslifebeauty 💯 shouldn’t be something that is so easy to trademark
As of today the first book is #1 and the 2nd one is #4! There are very few that could emulate this kind of success but that’s not to say it can’t be done. If you have knowledge or skills in something that people want or need to know about use that to create your books.
Very insightful video. Their marketing is extremely on point, they have created a brilliant sales machine. It's troubling though.. They are teaching people to affirm "I always get what I want" and calling that spiritual progress, mind blown! Amazing how rich you can get if you sell out all morals.. did they really have to sink so low as that in order to succeed...
People will buy any trendy notion these days. Wouldn’t be surprised if most are women who want daily affirmations. Yeah I said it.
Great
That shaodow witchraft worked for that seller.
It is not shadow work as in occult. It has nothing to do with that. It is a self-help book and more closely related to psychology
When you did the calculation you didn’t change the trim size to 6 x 9 inches so wouldn’t that make a difference?
How does the first example add a spiral bound to their kdp listing?
Not just that, but how are there even ANY options for different formats? I’ve never seen the ability to offer that when I have uploaded books - you either have to choose softcover or hardback.
spiral bound books are not KDP, KDP does not have an option to have that
@@mikeha Yes, I’m aware of that which is why I was questioning this, because we were told she’s an independent publisher - meaning she simply uploads to Amazon (just like I do) and yet here the listing plainly shows not one but three options for the buyer.
@@goilo888probably lulu, Ingram spark, drafted to digital one of those. She would not tick expanded distribution on Amazon and use the others for that, my understanding only, still a newbie
@@mikeha but it is possible to print outside of Amazon and sell with Amazon FBA. so they just had to unit them for selling
I published 4 low content books in the last 2 days and when I tried publish a 5th, KDP informed me that I was at a limit. I see people on UA-cam who have published 100-200 books in 6 months to a year. I don’t get why it’s such an encroachment. I had a really nice journal ready to go and I have no idea when I can publish it. Is there another POD site I can use where I don’t have these limitations and don’t need to build a website?
one video (don't remember which one) said that Amazon is limiting now that you can only upload 3 low content books/day.
So, what is a page? Is that one side or 2 sides of a sheet of paper? So, 132 pages, does that mean 132 sheets of paper plus cover, or is it 76 pieces of paper?
The TCK calculator you used is woefully inaccurate. According to it one of my books sells 165 books a month, I can tell you the real figure is closer to 74.
Hmm that's nice. However you have to be in certain countries right? Because some are NOT eligible for 70% royalties in the range of 2.99 to 9.99 dollars. Correct?
I think it's 60%, that's what I get I believe.
Not sure what you mean. The author can set any price they want. If Amazon set the minimum price of $4 for example you can sell it for $400. You won’t sell any, obviously, but that is a huge royalty.
It changed in June. So she's actually making like $3 more now :-)
@@goilo888 royalties used to be that 2.99-9.99 books used to get 70% royalty minus distribution/print costs. And $10+ used to have a 35% royalty rate. That changed in June. New royalties are 60% across the board minus fixed costs and minus page count (over 109 or so) or no page count cost (108 or less pages) don't quote me on page count but it's something like that. So she's actually making more money than she used to make before June.
WOW! I'm a Newbie and all I am hearing is how oversaturated it is and you must have 100s of items listed to make sales so thank you for this! I LOVE this journal so much that I bought one for myself and gifted one as well! Thank you for your inspiration. Side bar- I would love to see you do a video on ISBNs- purchasing your own, where/when/how to use them, etc.. thank you again. Much blessings being sent your way
Do you know how she was able to offer a spiral-bound option? I thought that was not possible with KDP?
It's not. There is no spiral-bound POD option with Amazon.
Likely the books are printed in China and shipped to Amazon (FBA program).
Amazon will link the same title together regardless of the publisher, for example, not many indies do their own audiobooks (some do, but not most) yet the audio book is listed on the product page along with the ebook and paperback.
So, likewise, they'll put the spiral bound book on the same product page as the POD KDP version (analogous to the audio example above).
@@michaelsbeverlycouldn't a spiral bound be done with Lulu? I couldn't do FBA right away?
I looked this title up on the TESS and see that it has been copyrighted since Aug. 3 2023.
Not sure if it matters, but these books are both 6×9. Your demonstration for royalties shows 8.5x11.
I think you used 8.5 x 11 in your calculator…which means she is actually making more! 😳
This book is currently #2 on the bestseller list, beating Stephen King who is at #4!
As books become easier to produce with the advent of AI, it seems developing a following through social media is becoming an increasingly important element of marketing books.
...and all with an interior from creative fabrica.
How is it all creative fabrica? I commented 6 months ago but I don't see that and would like to better understand what you are seeing?
@tammybarrett2442 there is an interior on creative fabrica, or there was at the time I last looked, that matched up exactly with this book. I'm not knocking the person selling the book at all. She didn't do anything wrong and she's one hell of a marketing genius.
KDP offers spiral bound????
I have the same question.
Nope
Thank you, that's exactly what I thought, now she's confused me lol @@jillglascock
How do they offer a spiral bound book on Amazon?
If you can make $200k a month, why aren't you just doing it, rather than making videos?
A lot of online entrepreneurs have many income streams.
Multiple income streams alot of them make good money on KDP but most of there cash comes from selling a course they offer
I think you missed the point, the point freedom empire i making is that this low content book author makes 200k a month off her books and why is that? Well in researching it, freedom empire shows that the author is on social media going over the book and other content relevant to the book, which generates interest like it was an ads service but instead of paying out for advertisement, the social media ends up paying the author money to advertise her books if she is monetized . Those views are future customers which she then drives back to the low content journal book. Hence,. By using social media the author is driving sales of that book to the tune of 200k a month income. Not just sales,.. their actual cut of money is a payday of 200k a month, if i understood that correctly. It shows the importance of getting your work in front of people. Also unlike other paid marketing services, social media posts stay there. They are always there until you delete them. So it can still be seen and generate interest years later.
You clearly have limited thinking! Ever heard of multiple income streams? Hope that helps
So should she only focus on one income stream?🤨
Saying this is making this amount of money "per month" based on these really high rankings isn't accurate.
Almost no book stays for long in the top 100 or even the top 1000, some exceptions like maybe Colleen Hoover are exceptions to the rule, but the competitive nature of the business renders this idea of staying in the top 100 for more than a few days or maybe a couple of weeks very difficult.
Part of the reason is that the market gets saturated when a book is highly ranked and advertised.
Not to say, even if she's making $50,000 a month, month in and month out, that's not insanely great.
I'm just pointing out that saying she's got a multi-year multi-million dollar revenue stream isn't correct (at least not on this evidence, based on a snapshot of the BSR one one given day).
Also, for all we know, she could have spent $200,000 on marketing.
Btw, the 90210 zip code is cute...
This is fine but why are you saying this is a “low content” book? This is at LEAST a medium content book as the pages differ and vary. The title of this video is misleading.
Too much useless talk
very bad video
