Another Midnight Run was one of many "movie of the week/pilot episodes" that ran during the weekends during the mid to late 90's on ABC. These shows were presented under the "Action Pack" series. They aired a total of three Midnight Run movies during that time. They also ran about 4 movies on an updated Smokey & The Bandit as well as one God awfull futuristic take on Knight Rider which was Knight Rider 2010. They had a few others that were pretty good. One of my favorites was Vanishing Son. But the ones just mentioned couldn't out do the Popularity of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess, & William Shatners: Tek War which gave way to popular series of their own. I miss the old "Action Pack" weekends. Thanks Junkman!!! Peace!!!

The movie was intended as a pilot to a weekly "Bates Motel" series that would've been an anthology where weird stuff happens at the motel. It never came to pass tho and then there was a theatrical Psycho III. Psycho IV was a direct to cable movie that actually starred Anthony Perkins, it played as both a sequel and a prequel as Norman, now "cured" tells his story to a talk radio host about his abuse from his mother and his eventual murdering of her and his stepfather. I believe that was used as the basis for the more recent "Bates Motel" series that ran a few years ago.

American Psycho 2 isn't really a sequel. After American Psycho's success, Lionsgate forced another production that was already filming to film a couple of scenes to make it reference Patrick Bateman and the opening scene (hence why American Psycho 2: All American Girl doesn't fit tonally with the first film), just to make it fit. If you want a real sequel to American Psycho, you're gonna have to look at one that may have gone under the radar. It's called The Rules of Attraction, starring James Van Der Beek. The reason why I say this is a sequel to American Psycho is because it's based on the book with the same name by Bret Easton Ellis. The book and the film features Sean Bateman, who is Patrick's younger brother, and there's even a chapter in the book the follows Patrick (in his first appearance in literature before Ellis proceeded to do American Psycho). Though the film doesn't feature Patrick (there was a scene filmed involving the character, this time played by Casper Van Dien of Starship Troopers fame in the role, the scene was cut from the film. However, Patrick is still referenced when Sean gets a phone call and calls the caller Patrick before he realizes it's not Patrick). Though The Rules of Attraction was written first by Ellis, it was adapted into a film after American Psycho had been (and despite TRoA updated the setting from the 1980s to the modern times, the story is still basically the same to the book with some minor changes). So, American Psycho 2 isn't a sequel to American Psycho. The Rules of Attraction is the real sequel to American Psycho.

@That Junkman The actors name is *Paul Le Mat*👈. And yes, "Roman Polanski's" films are kind of an acquired taste. With the exception of movies such as "The Fearless Vampire Killers" (1967) and "Chinatown" (1974). Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 classic movie "The Birds" was not solely his creation. The movie is loosely based on (Daphne du Maurier's 1952 novella) of the same name. I'm not sure about "Splash, Too''? But to my understanding...{The Jerk 2 1984} was originally conceived as a 2 hour TV pilot for a TV series based on the 1979 film. Although "Steve Martin" is credited as (executive producer) of The Jerk 2? He did not write or appear in the film. And I can definitely see why. FYI! That was actor/comedian "Mark Blankfield" who played the title character- Navin Johnson in The Jerk 2. Blankfield is best known as a regular cast member of the ABC late-night live sketch comedy show "Fridays". Which ran from 1980 to 1982. "Fridays" is also known for boosting the careers of future stars such as "Michael Richards" AKA (Cosmo Kramer from Seinfeld). As well as comedian, writer, actor, television producer "Larry David".
This is why I don't like new Star Wars shows/movies. If it doesn't look and feel like Star Wars, it's not Star Wars. I agree with you on IT, the new clown looks lame. Tim Curry is an awsome and talented actor who can step into any role with ease. He was the voice of the Joker before Mark Hamill lent his voice. Tim Curry was awesome as the Joker, but something was off. I'm glad Mark Hamill took over.
I think George Lucas has a writing credit on More American Graffiti, but it was a different director. The original was one of my dad's favorite movies of all time -- he played the soundtrack constantly -- and even he was disappointed by the sequel.
I remember all three "Midnight Run" made-for-TV films--"Another Midnight Run," "Midnight Runaround," and "Midnight Run For Your Life"--from the mid-nineties starring Christopher "Shooter McGavin" McDonald. I have all three of them on DVD along with the original "Midnight Run."
I still haven't seen the Police Academy sequels only shown in Europe. Also American Graffiti 2 was a colossal pile of crap. I saw it and understood completely why George Lucas didn't touch it.
You should look into the Italian ripoff movies from the 60's to the 80's. I like most of them because they are over the top bad. One example is the director Bruno Mattei made a Terminator 2 like 5 years or so before the actual one. It's all over the place and really has very little to do with the real one, but it's fun. He also did a Jaws sequel called Cruel Jaws. Shock Treatment is just a continuation of the story of the two normal characters in Rocky Horror not the whole group. Yeah I spit on your grave is a bit especially for a kid. They made a remake and like 3 other sequels. Splash is ok.
Shock Treatment is a very good sequel, and movie in general. I'm not a big fan of musicals in general, but love Rocky horror, Shock Treatment and Little Shop of Horrors
I think that Brady Bunch in the White House one was a TV movie. They included it in the DVD set, and my wife is a huge fan of the TV show and the movies, so we watched it. It was God-awfully horrible.
I watched the Jerk Too when it aired on TV when I was a kid. Me & my little brothers laughed & laughed. I've not seen it in 40 years.. I'm sure if I saw it today I wouldn't laugh too much.

I knew they made a the jerk 2 but not midnight run lol they also made a Splash in 1988 it was straight on video its a part two. The first one had Tom Hanks and Derryl Hannah 1983. Ron Howard film.
There was a sequel/remake of another Tom Hanks comedy, in 2008 there was a direct-to-DVD monstrocity Bachelor Party 2: The Last Temptation obviously starring nobody from the original curiously two of the writers from the first one wrote this one too.
The 80's teen classic Zapped! which gave us the dynamic pairing of Scott Baio and Willie Ames also spawned a crap sequel in 1990 called Zapped Again! 😢 But wait there was also a kid friendly remake of sorts from Disney in the 2000's that starred Zendaya which was utter ca-ca.

Arthur was a movie they should not have made a sequel to or tried to remake The Dudley Moore classic should have been left alone
This is why I don't like new Star Wars shows/movies.
If it doesn't look and feel like Star Wars, it's not Star Wars.
I agree with you on IT,
the new clown looks lame.
Tim Curry is an awsome and talented actor who can step into any role with ease.
He was the voice of the Joker before Mark Hamill lent his voice.
Tim Curry was awesome as the Joker, but something was off.
I'm glad Mark Hamill took over.
If I remember correctly there is a 3rd Midnight Run called "Midnight Run For Your Life" and yeah I'm sure it's just as bad as the title itself!
I think George Lucas has a writing credit on More American Graffiti, but it was a different director. The original was one of my dad's favorite movies of all time -- he played the soundtrack constantly -- and even he was disappointed by the sequel.
Film sound tracks were hip, trendy for years. Promotional tools, music videos. Home video 📼 helped too.
Psycho II isn’t bad. It’s not great, but it’s decent.
A few others said this. But I didn’t even bring up the movie in the movie. So odd unless people just adding to the list. :)
@ThatJunkman Spoiler, if I recall in Psycho ll, Bates does not kill anyone except 1 character which was a self defense type situation.
Midnight run is one of my all time Faves but I had no idea they ever made a sequel. It’s a tough original to follow up with the OG cast, all legends!
Tim Curry had the best villain laugh I liked his villain character in Gargoyle and in Mighty Max he played the main villain skull master
John Milner is the "cool guy" in American Graffiti
That he is
There were two more Midnight Run films after the sequl, Midnight Runaround and Midnight Run For Your Life.
Yup all three TV Movies that supposedly to pilots for a TV series.
Psycho 2 and 3 are in fact quite good.
Yes. Funny people lee bring this up. I didn’t even talk about the Psycho
Movies. But i know 2 is good. Didn’t see 3
@@ThatJunkman How about Psycho IV which was made for cable tv and was one of Anthony Perkns final film roles. He died from AIDS in 1992.🏠🎥🔪🙏
Can I pretend I don’t know about StarWars?
I remember all three "Midnight Run" made-for-TV films--"Another Midnight Run," "Midnight Runaround," and "Midnight Run For Your Life"--from the mid-nineties starring Christopher "Shooter McGavin" McDonald. I have all three of them on DVD along with the original "Midnight Run."
I know about the The Jerk Too I saw that on TV as a kid.
There is a a Christmas Vacation 2 that was made for TV.
I still haven't seen the Police Academy sequels only shown in Europe. Also American Graffiti 2 was a colossal pile of crap. I saw it and understood completely why George Lucas didn't touch it.
Not missing much
Shock treatment is stupid fun pretty much about how life is now. I've showed so many people it I don't know why it's a favorite of mine
I didn’t know there was a Star Wars 4-6 until episode 7 came out. I grew up with episodes 1-3.
Well, ya got me; a few of those are definitely movies I didn't know existed! And don't sweat it too much; I've never seen 'The Godfather' XD
There are two Star Wars movies made for TV they are about the Ewok's. They are not that great.
Dirty Dozen had several mad for TV movies that were awful. The original movie is a classic and I was so disappointed in the TV garbage. Ughh
If they would have just made the American Graffiti sequel all about Terry the toad in Vietnam because those parts are epic in the movie!
I watched the Jerk Too when it aired on TV when I was a kid. Me & my little brothers laughed & laughed. I've not seen it in 40 years.. I'm sure if I saw it today I wouldn't laugh too much.
The Jerk was a movie that the older kids got to see. by the 80s i had memorized most of Steve Martins Wild and Crazy Guy record
I'm glad they largely stopped doing stuff like this.
Opie Cunningham. One of Eddie Murphy's funniest.
How about Where the Buffalo Roam is actually the sequel to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas? Seeing Bill Murray in that role gives a different perspective to Hunter Thompson. I have mentioned this one to a number of people who had no idea that Terry Gilliam's film is actually the second one.
Revenge Of The Nerds The Next Generation and Nerds In Love were horrible sequels.
The omen triligy is actually a quadrilogy. The Omen 4 was s made for tv movie that had s girl as the baby born from the union of Damien and the reporter
Speed 2 is still atrocious. Such a waste of Willem Dafoe and Sandra Bullock
Alright, Junkie! You can talk all the trash you want about Rosemary's Baby, but I'm not standing for you making fun of Shock Treatment! I'm going to give your uncle a call! You can expect a visit from him in the next few days...
Loved midnight run . When he says " You get it started and ill run you over" always thought that was a funny movie
In 1998 they made a sequel to the 93 Fugitive movie called US Marshalls, staring Tommy Lee Jones as the heartless Lawman Sam Gerard with Wesley Snipes as the wrongfully accused person and Robert Downey Jr. One thing in the US Marshals film Robert Downey Jr was the bad guy all along,he was the one that killed the 2 Government Agents & frame Wesley Snipes
The original Robocop and 2 was awesome, however three was garbage.
