Tennis without Roger will never be the same for me. Respect to Novak and Rafa and of course Andy, but for me Roger was the player who raised the bar and brought everyone up with him. His achievements have now been surpassed by Rafa and now Novak, but I’m sure those guys would agree that chasing Roger made them the great players they have become. Thank you Roger.
Exactly. If Sampras had 25 Grand Slams Federer would have 26 or 27. But he broke the record by so much that he got "too cool for school". He clearly had 5 down years in the Middle of his prime. Because he was the record holder. If Roger had 14, Djoko would probably have won like 16-18. It is always like that. That doesnt mean Djoko is BETTER than Roger. Just that he kept his body and had a higher goal.
Bjorn Borg won 11 majors by the time he was just 25, without even contesting the Australian Open. He was dominant on both the fastest surface (Wimbledon/grass) and slowest (French/clay) Probably could have won a string of US Open titles if he didn't have trouble adjusting to play under artificial lights (lost 4 finals there in night matches). Greatest player of the previous era. I wouldn't exclude him from discussion of "best ever." @@felipefasanella7764
Thank you for keeping the magic of RF alive! RF fans like me have seen these points a 1000 times, but it still brings a smile to our face. We remember the Fed! ❣
Miss watching this guy play. It's a good thing his highlight reel is bottomless. There's Greatness Of All Time In Numbers, and there's simply The Greatest Of All Time.
Roger Federer was the ultimate tennis player. Nadal nor Djokovic don't even come close. Djokovic can go on to 100 Grand Slam titles and people will forever talk about Roger Federer. Federer defined what a player should be, on and off the court. With his sublime style of play, his mannerisms and the decorum with which he carried himself. He is arguably Rolex's greatest brand ambassador.
Yeah seriously, all that matters is how cool you look when you play and how good of a brand ambassador you are. Winning the most titles means nothing. Federer will always be the goat because he is the coolest and classiest.
Such fun, thank you. I must admit I enjoy it when people lose their cool, like Ivanisevic (can't spell him) and RF has a quiet smile. And I love the fan who was dancing. But the best is when the whole crowd goes crazy, the atmosphere is so wonderful.
@@viksinha5410 And you would be very boring. At least when Federer dominated, he blew them off the court, not bored them off the court. Including Djokovic.

Thanks for all your vids Raz. When Feds retired the avid interest I had in watching tennis just disappeared. I can only compare it to when Ali retired.
Thankfully because of the era, youtube, yourself and about 40,000 matches to choose from, we can still enjoy on repeat how the great man played. Favourite is probably vs Roddick because it was a sign, before he'd won any of his GS titles, how good this guy was going to be...
As a follow-up to #4; there was a similar situation with Delpo and Roger in their '09 US Open final where, early in the match, Roger closes out a game and, as they are walking to their chairs for changeover, Delpo playfully hits a ball at Roger, as if to say, "Cut me some slack Rog! It's hard enough beating you as is"😁 Also,...#7 and #9 are straight-up next-level! And, I still don't think Goran has emotionally recovered from #14. Roger's innocent giggling was priceless! Great selections Raz!👏

The defensive passing shot winner against Sousa was extraordinary and a Federer-level-only shot, IMO. However!!! In the Falla clip, Federer hits a magical defensive squash shot that skims mere inches above the net and lands inside the service court, setting him up for a transition to offense and subsequent execution of one of the most ridiculous shots I’ve personally ever seen. Two phenomenal shots in a row that I’m positive made thousands of fans drop their jaws in awe. And a prime example of how Federer could make decent professional players look like amateurs. No offense, Falla. I know you took him to five sets once. 😂 Note 2 : poor Goran :-(
Watching Federer is liking watching MJ or Tiger in their prime. These are the icons people will watch even if they don't usually watch that sport because we all appreciate watching a genius doing something special that nobody else can do. Roger is not just a automaton that keeps hitting the ball back - he often hits amazing unorthodox shots for winners that the current generation all try to emulate. Nobody had his variety or looked more graceful playing tennis than Roger. I wanted to play basketball like Mike, golf like Tiger, tennis like Roger. They inspired a generation.
Being the GOAT is not just titles. Federer changed the game and did things we never saw before. Its the total package. Nadal and Djokovic are great players but they both are 2nd place if you ask me. For me the GOAT is and always will be RF.
without a doubt to many slow courts nowadays, without the constant slowing neither Nadal or Djokovic would have the numbers they do. Watching this years atp finals I laugh that its one of the quickest surfaces around this year.
That Djokovic expression in #19 11:25 perfectly encapsulates why so many tennis fans don't/didn't like the man. I think he's gotten better, but it is right there.
Love your videos! I think the shot versus Roddick is unbelievable. The only other one that I think rivals it, is the running forehand Fed hit at Wimbledon versus Lucas Pouille! Ball was practically at his ankle level when he hit it cross court!!
Why Roger would always be the GOAT for me. It isn't about records or stats. It's about coming up with impossible shots that doesn't seem to even be legal, and still making it look effortlessly.
imo you missed the one from Kyrgios when he full on launched a rocket forehand towards Fed at the net during 2017 Indian Wells, him just standing back pondering
No one teaches the great Fed, but I feel he needed to play more long balls (while returning) to make it hard to return. Many of his returns were short giving opponents enough time to pounce back as they wanted. We miss the elegance of FedEx❤❤
Against Roddick and the last with Djokovic are the best of the list. The sentence that commentator say in Roddick vs Federer is the simple true and shows what Federer is to tennis and why he was loved by those who love TENNIS. He was having fun on the court, that's all.

Tsonga at the Australian Open in 2013 I think. Pretends to hit a ball at Federer after losing the point.
