Its called heat setting-- the heat itself speeds up the process and locks the dye into the fibers of the fabric. You should look into shibori, its a form of tie-dye patterns that include heat setting with water and tying objects in the fabric to create interesting patterns

I just started messing around with patterns. Hearts are pretty easy. You need a baking cooling rack so when you flip it you get less contamination. Also thought it was hilarious that you wore gloves to fold it and not to dye. 😂😂😂

This week Tie Dye kits are on sale at Michaels! Regular 39$ down to 17$ (cheaper if your in the US lol. They have a microwave kit too but I got a different one that came with so many colours!! You have to buy the shirts separately but it’s so much fun. Love the colours in that kit funny Bunny! 🐰🖤🐊🍭

I got those kits too and I really like that the ones I got have the dye already in the bottles and then came with extra dye packets which doesn’t happen very often!

She wears extensions but her natural hair is very long too, all the blonde is her natural hair and the black is extensions. I think she's been growing it out for more than 5 years, but she cut a bit off during the pandemic.

Yes, watching your video's always makes my day! I would have such a blast hanging out with you for a day...up here in Ontario, Canada there are tie dye mini kit's I found in $Tree and $Rama, and also Walmart, so look around...think I might have a tie dye party for my birthday (in a couple of days)

Storytime about the color fuchsia:
About a million years ago (back in the 80's) I worked in an art store located only a few blocks from a fairly prestigious Art and Design College. It was part fine art gallery, part custom framing studio/shop, with a tiny little room sandwiched between (almost an afterthought) filled with high quality artists supplies for sale. Understandably, we got a ton of young art students in to purchase supplies for classes.
One day this very young (mind you, I was not much older) couple of students came in looking for a particular Pantone marker to complete an assignment one of them had in their design class. It was a mixed media portrait of a woman with some seriously 80's crimped hair and long fingernails. The two of them started chattering about color choices for the nails and the artist's friend started enthusing over what color...? None other than Bunny's current fave, fuchsia. Only, neither of these youngsters knew how to pronounce it correctly and kept loudly and confidently going on and on about that amazing "FOOSHA" marker. No, they weren't being ironic. It took every ounce of self control not to laugh or correct them. Now, every time I hear the color said correctly, my mind flashes back to those two young artists and those amazing FOOSHA colored nails.🤣💅🎨

i'm kansan but my grandpa was from oklahoma. good old boy country type. it's a running joke in our family and a good way to remember him but one time he said "i had to warsh (wash) my clothes in the crick (creek) wahr-ter (water) next to the gayzeboh (gazebo). as a kansan, half the population either adds unnecessary "r's" into words or it's nails on a chalkboard hearing the unnecessary "r's" lol there is virtually no in between.

Why would you dye it while it’s in the container?! You realize that the overflow would just pool at the bottom and make it brown right? EDIT: no, you clearly don’t know that. Because you just did it on a flat table on Saran Wrap. And then wondered why it all blended together when you turned it over. Yeah, because you just sat it directly in the spilled dye

Yes! The heat sets the dye. Also, to get less white, move the flaps and folds a little bit and apply the dye. My sister taught me how to tie dye when I was little and she always had me check every fold without unfolding the shirt or moving the rubber bands to make sure there’s no white!

you can permanently dye wool yarn with koolaid in a microwave so maybe it's a similar thing
I strongly recommend the channel Riahs Tie Dye. They have beautiful Tie Dye creations. They also give really good instructions. Tie Dye is my family’s favorite color!

Pro tip: for less white make sure you go between the folds so u get better coverage. Also soaking in soda ash water will help set the colors

That is so like me to have dye all over my hands despite having gloves right next to me I’m super messy I drop things I break things I’m a literal bull in a china shop.
If the shirt was left dripping wet would there be less white spaces. Water helps the dye run. I’m tempted to try this myself. I’ve never tie dyed on my own without assistance or guidance. I want to tie dye a few tank tops.
