Looking for island camp spots on the river Thames in our inflatable boat

- In this weeks video we are on the search for potential camping spots on small islands in the middle of the River Thames.
The slipway I use is totally free with free parking. You have to go in the boat shop next to the slipway and ask them to unlock the slipway.

We find giant goose eggs in abandoned nests.
We have finally done the draw for the competition we are running for one of our subscribers to win a place in our boat on 29th June at Poole in Dorset at the boat meet I’ve arranged.

We will be returning next week to the island to have an overnight camp and cook up!!!
Im so excited to announce this invitation for you to come out on the water with us. Bring your boats, any size, make and model is welcome to join us as long as it is a motorised boat, no canoes or paddle boards. unfortunatly we wont be doing any fishing but please feel free to bring a fishing rod if you would like to spur off from the group and try your luck at catching your evening meal, lol!
please bring your own food and drink for the day, preferabaly a packed lunch would be the best option, plus any snacks you might want. there are many pubs and resturants for an evening meal in poole quey, a 5 min walk from the slipway. there is a tesco express also at poole quey.
How to enter the competition:
to win a seat on budgee's boat simply like the video, subscribe to the channel and make a comment in the comment section of this video.
you can enter up untill 14th June 2024 and the winner will be announce on 15th June 2024. by a live video!
Safety and plans for the day:
we are going to meet up on Saturday 29th june 2024 at about 8am at the boat ramp at baiter park in poole, address below. We hope to set sail approximately 9am. {best to come as early as possible to make sure you can get parked, it can get VERY busy}.

car and trailer FEES which include harbour fees: £17.30 6am-midnight
minimum boat requirements:
1: All boats must be in a good sea worthy condition!
2: All boats attending should have a life jacket for every person on board!
3: every boat must have a vhf radio or mobile phone to call for help in the avent of an emergency.
4: all boats need to respect the speed limits while inside the harbour.
5: All boat owners must be responsable for themselves and their passengers.
weather permitting we wiil head out of the harbour to the studland bay area {swim stop for 1 hour}. We will have a sneak peak at harrys rock. we will then head back into the harbour for some lunch {your packed lunch}. - Розваги
A few years ago I paddled over 85 miles down the river Wye from Glasbury to Monmouth and wild hammock camped the whole trip. It was excellent and a far better experience than using campsites. I was visited by fallow deer and early one morning had otters visit my camp.

I camped on an island 2 years ago and had grief from a boat yard ,came along and tried to make me pack up and leave, I politely refused as was guna leave next morning. Still had a good time tho
I’m quite friendly with those guys so I think they might let it slide for one night🤔🤣

The 1st reserve has took my spare seat and I’m so pleased! I’ve had a chat with him on the phone and he’s a family man, ex military guy with a small son and daughter. He was so happy he won and sounds like a really lovely man with a nice family, I couldn’t have asked for a nicer guy to come with me, I’m so pleased for him!!!😁

Once I’ve cleaned the island up I might even rename it Budgee island and get electric and water installed. I can charge £20 per night then, hahaha🤣🤣🤣

I think if you look it up some stretches of the Thames there are proper camp sites next to the waters edge, I’ll have to investigate and see if I can find one!
Like I said, I’d be up for a trip to Scotland next year if you’re still up for it!!!!!!

Found this campsite, it’s near Henley on Thames, I used to collect their bins so I know the place quite well. A really nice stretch of the Thames!!!!!👍

Sell the inflatable mate and get a fletcher picton or dateline bikini speed boat you will never look back you can pick em up cheap I got mine with 70hp for 1600 quid on a decent trailer there about from 1500-3 grand depending on if you want to do any work to it couple of videos on my channel mate have a snoop got a zapcat aswell with 55hp Yamaha that things dangerous 😂goes 60mph easy.if you and the boy ever fancy a trip up to the Norfolk broads would be good for a meet up do a over night camp ⛺️ I no a few nice spots there’s a nice little water ski or wake board stretch on the river perfect for a camp iv got sum gear if you fancy trying it all the best lads 🙏🏻

BTW, what is that slipway like, I've heard it drops off at the end. Do you think it would be ok for heavier boats?

You shouldn’t have any trouble using that slipway it’s a nice concrete ramp. I don’t think it has a drop off but I don’t have to back my boat in too far. The back wheels of my van are in the water before my boat floats off., if that’s any help!!

Actually I’ve just woke up on the island and I’m sat looking out at the water from the camp while im writing this message lol!
The kind lady at the boat shop let me keep my van and trailer in their gated compound for the night so it wasn’t left on display in the car park overnight, how nice of her!!!!
Just gonna start clearing camp away so I’ll have to crack on. 😜
Why didn't you rescue the Canada Goose at 4:06 that was trapped in fishing line or tree roots? It looked like you were going to, then you moved away.
He wasn’t trapped he was just sat chilling out. At first I thought he was stuck as well. Off camera he jumped in the water and swam off down the river. He was fine.
