Watching this video has shown me how much of a role model you are for people with hobbies. Not just the balisong community, although that too, but just any hobbies in general. Specifically when you said that you needed to do more research on graphene and when you were closing out the video. You don’t have to do any research, and definitely not any for your viewers because this is not how you make a living, but you will because you enjoy this. And then when you were closing out the video it was just you having fun and making jokes when you could be completely serious and balisong-centric. At least that’s what I gather from your statements and actions and I hope that’s how you feel as well and I didn’t just get it completely wrong. I also hope you realize that this is how you appear to so many people, as a very positive force in the community and in life. And lastly I hope you got to experience the joys of yelling after you cut the video and you try out that food thing sometime soon.

Thick silicone based is the shit. Brand doesn't matter. I'm literally using one that's made for Rubik's cube. Smooth action, removes tap, doesn't wash off easily even if your bali dives on the water.
Happy Birthday Will! (i dont know enough about lube so im gonna put a few facts about graphene. Graphine is a good conductor at a really small scale, making it good for electronics. Not to mention its stronger than steel if they're the same thiccness. The drawback is how much it takes to make.)
Yeah I might have gotten very popular over scented oil but chemically it’s not the same as other lubes and it functions much better than most. I do suppose that’s a fair assumption to make because it is red and other lubes are also red, and in the end lubes are not very different regardless
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's advised to completely clean and dry your bali before applying any different type of lube. And to not to be mixing different brands of lubes because you could cause a chemical reaction and potentially ruin your bali.
I haven’t really heard of anyone completely dissembling their Bali to clean it every time they apply lube, I can see why it’s advised but I wouldn’t tell someone thats what you have to do.
Mixing lube yeah absolutely is not a good thing to do, they have different viscosity and may not mix at all and just clog up your pivots, even if there’s no chemical reaction.
Yeah you want to clean it out before applying different lube, especially those that are oil based

@@NapstablookyThey weren't talking about disassembling it every time to lube it, they were talking about disassembling and cleaning it before applying a different kind of lube than there was in the pivots before.
graphene and graphite are not necessarily the same thing. graphene is extracted *from* graphite essentially and if anything, due to the properties of graphene, it would slow the polishing process rather than accelerate it. it is basically creating a a barrier between the surfaces more effectively than conventional balisong lubricant.

The main thing I've found to be different between different lubes is just the sound and tolerances, a thicker lube sounds better to me and also helps minimize play, but the difference between nrb thick and carbon honey thick is nearly unnoticeable, but after a couple months I find carbon honey sounds just a bit better in my knives, but only like a 5 percent increase haha
I’m still using the bottle of Hopes No. 9 that came with my squid industries maintenance kit because I just haven’t ran out yet. Once I do I might experiment with some KPL or Carbon Honey
Also using Hopes 9. I really want to try thick carbon honey because Hopes can get messy sometimes and it often leads to my handles getting slippery every time I apply it, which I assume is because it’s a thinner oil

I get everything you're saying Will but NRB Thicc is definitely my preference after having tried like 10 different lubes for my balis. On the real though I didn't like carbon honey because the applicator on the bottles sucks ass and it dirtied up my pivots much more than any other lube.

Second question, what's your favorite bearing balisong? the bs list has like maybe two 'good quality' bearing knives, but personally i prefer bearing balisongs over bushing balisongs just for the speed. however the only thing i have is the g10 trainer, and i wanted to know if there's anything better than the talisong z or flytanium aluminum lucha mod(because i'm going to save up for one more balisong, and i want it to be the best i can get)
