Hoeing destroys weeds, preserves water in the soil, ensures ventilation and warming of the soil, causing better development of cotton roots and aboveground parts.
Hoeing is done by hand and tractor. In irrigated cotton farming, 2-3 times hand hoeing and 3-4 tractor hoeing should be done depending on the weed status of the field. It is of great importance to reduce drying caused by fungi, which is usually seen during the seedling period, to eliminate pauses in plant development, and to aerate the soil by hoeing.
