As a former San Benito greyhound player and alum we all knew that my school didn’t stand a chance, but they didn’t back down either and played well considering the score. Westlake is as good as anybody in the country and they did get beat up here and there by my team.

San Benito Greyhounds did play a great game. Westlake used referees to help stop some blocks. Holding and it looks like Westlake had to earn their yards because they had to be within the 20 yard line until they could score. Not to take from their special team blocks. Sorry but size does not matter. Greyhounds, we are proud of you. I hope injuries on Westlake students will heal. Go Greyhounds!

Port Isabel has been able to do it a few times. PSJA North has a chance to make a deep run this year as well, albeit they've had a pretty advantageous bracket so far.
RGV teams can only compete in the RGV. They get their asses handed to them outside of the RGV every time. It's probably been 65 years since a Team from the RGV won a state title. They need to be moved down from 6A to 4A in my opinion.

RGV High school teams need to be put in 4A they just can't compete in 6A against the big power houses. They are doing them a disservice by putting them in that 6 A division, sad.

@@texashog4526 Yeah- North Shore would have won that game if the last call was ruled correctly. Also, ya'll had Cade Klubnik and a few other stars who really carried the offense to high places. A lot of those guys have recently graduated including their legendary head coach, who retired after '21, or '20. I can't remember, but Westlake isn't the team it was last year or the year before. 🤷🏽♂️

Even with the size difference, San Benito’s defense held their own.. if it wasn’t for that blocked punt for a TD, San Benito would’ve held Westlake to the 3rd fewest points this season.. Unfortunately San Benito couldn’t do anything on offense and their defense just got tired
