Garry's Mod Animators and Source Filmmaker Animators are under attack by the copyright troll. And it is not just that, but artists, developers, and even Unlike that Demosad video, the video explains what is going on why the Nintendo-related Add-ons, and what can we do to stop this nonsense.
Please spread it around like wildfire. Not just on UA-cam, but everywhere on the internet. This must stop immediately.

It honestly doesn’t surprise me that this “Aaron Peter” possibly also DMs innocent people who use the deleted Nintendo models for GMOD with cruel and hurtful messages just to make himself higher above others.

Hi, guy from the Fraymakers community here. Just found this. I don't know the exact details of the GMod side of this, but I'd like to give an update on our current situation.
First, there was a false DMCA claim against a mod of Paper Mario. This claim was shoddy, and when the mod's creator reached out to Steam, Valve's team seemed to believe the mod was somehow related to GMod.
After reporting the false DMCA claim to Steam, a wave of DMCA takedowns occurred.
After a long time investigating these, our game's developers told us that many of these claims appeared to be real DMCAs by Nintendo.
Our belief is that Steam notified Nintendo, who then decided to file real claims.
It's also important to note, that these "real" claims also came from an Aaron Peters.
This does NOT mean that DMCA takedowns from Aaron Peters are legitimate, but that they have potential to be. It is also clear that people are using that name for fictitious DMCAs.
I also apologize as I believe attention was brought to GMod by the first, fake DMCA Fraymakers received, and we were very open about it, and how Steam handled it, including the strange allusions to GMod. This seemed to occur before the takedowns started in GMod.
I also want to make an important note regarding Pokemon content: Nintendo does not own Pokemon. Nintendo cannot file a DMCA for Pokemon content. That is the right of The Pokemon Company International.
While I want to say "some of Aaron Peters DMCAs appear to be legitimate" I will stress that TPCI owns Pokemon, and any DMCA allegedly from Nintendo on Pokemon content IS fake.
Anyways, I have no knowledge on how this has further developed in the GMod community, but have noticed a recent statement about Nintendo related mods being taken down.
The Pokémon Company is founded by Nintendo along with Game Freak and Creatures and they have a 33.33% stake on the company...
@@OhKayEl They might have significant ownership of TPCI but the Pokemon IP is still owned by Pokemon, not Nintendo. I'm pretty sure Nintendo can't DMCA on Pokemon's behalf because they don't own the IP.
The same person could represent TPCI and Nintendo, but they would have to submit it as TPCI not Nintendo.

If Nintendo had made an official Garry's Mod workshop, and this troll filed the false DMCA's against them, thinking it was not actually Nintendo, then they would be in trouble.

Hey, found out some of the SMG4 fan-made models are getting DMCA from Aaron Peters too. This might be affecting the show too since they used them in plenty of their videos.

First we get drama from Kaiju Universe getting taken down from Roblox from a DMCA request from Toho as Kaiju Universe’s creators didn’t have the license for Toho’s kaiju in that moment, and now this? I can tell that Aaron Peters is a complete Karen. Even though I don’t like NSFW art, I wouldn’t go as far as DMCA-ing all fanart of Nintendo characters, including those that aren’t NSFW.
Someone should show this to SMG4.

I have a feeling that this Aaron guy could have been part of the erasure of the Cookie's Bustle game back in 2023. The game was up on the Internet Archive but was taken down by Nintendo which makes no sense because they do not own the game in any way...
It’s not just the game, uploading gameplay of Cookie’s Bustle can still result in a takedown. Even Vinesauce played this and, you guessed it, got taken down within a couple of hours. It’s as if this troll wants to ruin Nintendo’s reputation.
Hopefully this Aaron Peter guy gets what he deserves and goes to jail for the rest of his miserable life.

This Aaron guy is the perfect example as to why folks need to better mediate and resonate their anger/annoyance online, and learn to move on and stay away from it.
Anyone can have the stance they want in NSFW and adult content assets and models, but contemplate in how what should've been a mild annoyance for this guy was in actuality so personal he took it on himself to become an "unsung hero" for Nintendo, leading him to become indie's nerd-core animation villain. His actions indirectly has affected upcoming animators by taking assets away from both players and content creators alike, closing many entry points of interest for people whom wanted to become animators by making Nintendo animations based on their favorite characters, just like SMG4. Imagine this had happened by 2011, I don't think GLITCH nor any of their heavy hitting shows would exist if something of this scale had happened, prompting Luke to not ever want to bother with Nintendo nor having the passion to make his Stupid Mario show because he couldn't be allowed to used the asset due to this. Furthermore, instead of doing Nintendo a favor all this did was bring their name down further than it was (Of course, it has sank there due to their own hand making in similar practices, which goes to show how much bad rep they have when people BELIEVE IS THEM, but still) thus making more people and the gaming community as a while HATE THE COMPANY.
I feel it is important in this day and age that people understand AND LEARN when to stay away topics they don't like, rather than pull stunts like this. Behavior like this is why nobody likes the average Twitter user, and why that place is insufferable.

Source Filmmaker and Rivals of Aether's workshops both have an abundance of Nintendo content; they very likely could be next. Their communities must be warned and have their content archived as quickly as possible.

Sad how this situation shows what happens when you do this for too long. When something like this happens, even if it isn’t done by you, people without doing enough research will automatically point it to you, even though it’s the one time you never actually did any of it.

You probably need to follow the instructions again, but once you get to addons, make a folder called My Addons and put the files in the folder and it should work, cause I got it to work

Man...yet another example of copyright (or at least the concept of it) being majorly screwed up (&/or abused) in this day & age. This needs to *_STOP!_*
On the upside I know of someone who's actually been maintaining a Gmod workshop archive for the past few years: would post a link here but I know UA-cam would flag it: just search for it & you should find it. That may help remedy this incident somewhat.
On another note, those addons couldn't possibly have been on the Steam Workshop in 2005 or 2006 as the Steam Workshop was launched in 2011.
I also seem to see a few editing errors in this video, such as the spoken text around 3:29 being cut off.
I imagine Toast is referring to older hosting services as well.

This is even worse than any drama I've ever come across. This is actually a widespread crime and a massive amount of victims is the many communities that made addons for GMod and SFM. At this point, I think I'm going back to making animations for Five Nights at Freddy's, because... I have no words now.

Not just Nintendo Add-Ons being Removed, others like Sega, Namco Capcom and Other Non-Nintendo Add-Ons are being removed as well, Garry Newman didn't knew it was Nintendo removing the Non-Nintendo add-ons as well, and someone already talked to a Nintendo Representative, and they Confirmed that they did not work for Aaron Peters and they have Nothing to do with that DMCA Takedowns, and they did not officially Announced that, so it is True that Aaron Peters is Impersonating the Company, trying to remove the Addons so his Wife won't watch gmod videos anymore, such as SMG4.

Hello, I’m that one guy who wanted Brewster to be my friend and got humiliated in front of his friends sorry..But this whole situation sucks because brewster and many others working with him has taken down their mods and I’m relying on sonic mods for now I hope this whole situation goes down hill and Aaron peters gets banned for tricking and making lies to value, I was a huge Nintendo fan and downloaded a bunch of mods of course and seeing each one being taken away from the community and not returning is just so bad you guys probably spent hours getting those models sent over from either game fixed into blender or whatever model fixing website and publish it to the public.
So now we know who's behind this and what they're doing is very illegal. It'll be good to see this punk brought to justice and Mario and Co. back in your videos. Sometime in the future, I would like to try Gmod animation and creating Super Mario related content is on the top of my list. So please, for the sake of me and many others, find a way to fix this.
