Hi Jamie I'm a member of a group of retired men and they want to have a 'rogues' photo gallery on our website. I'm wanting to use the block editor if possible, we have about 270 members in our branch and need to have their names with their pictures. Is this possible with native blocks, or can you suggest a plug-in that would work. I'd prefer to not use the media library to store the images - is that possible? I try to follow all your videos as you explain things so clearly and you are my go-to site as I learn Gutenberg! Keep up the good work. I also recommend your videos to our other 90 branches around northern California.
Hi Derek, how about using the Gutenberg gallery block. With the gallery block you can add captions (ie members names) and also change the number of columns. You can also change the position of each pic easily once it’s been added.
@@jamiewp Jamie, thanks for the prompt reply. I wondered if that would be your suggestion, but I wondered if I was missing any better alternatives. Stay safe and keep these great videos coming!
Hello Jamie. This was some very informative content. I only wish it had been available back at the start of the year, when my WordPress adventures began. Since that time I have figured out many of these items. Some of them caused much confusion, and a bit of pain and suffering. Thank you for sharing this, though, as I am sure that many will benefit from your knowledge.
Jamie, I was impatient and tried to start my site with only the information from a beginner's video. The result was that the content I tried to add to my home page wouldn't appear with what I created in the site editor and everything was simply a mess. Half the time, nothing goes as planned or appears where I tell it to. Would you please tell me a source where I can actually learn to understand all these things and stop being my own worst enemy with fatal errors, etc.. I need to understand what I'm doing and I have very little time. Thank You.
nice cozy room with the gutenberg logo covering the window 👍 good stuff mate
Thanks 👍
I use Kadence theme with Kadence Blocks & it's been amazing. For a simple website, even the free version has so many features.
Brilliant!
I find all of your videos informative and interesting with the information presented concisely. Thank you for taking the time and effort!

thanks for watching
"Avoid niche themes" is debatable advice :)
I think avoiding is not always necessary, but I would certainly be wary of them in many circumstances
