Damn do i miss my cousin alot there is nothing in life that i miss more than my cousin. my cousin was my number 1 best friend. its been 118days since he has passed away in a car accident everytime when i get into my sisters car she looks at me and she says sorry but i cant stop myself from playing this song. i grew up without my mom being there to take care of her kids. my dad named my brother who is 21 after my cousin cruz and he passed away at age 24. i always count on how many days he has been gone. in june ill be in jametown nd for something that james valley off roaders is doing for my cousin that passed. i dont know if ill have the heart to go but i know that he would want me to be there. heres to you cruz. This song has such an impact on my life..when my dad found out my mom was in labor with me this is the first song that came on the radio. And at 16 I found out I was going to be a father, I listened to this song every day and even sang it into the mothers belly a few times, a month after finding out she was pregnant she miscarried, and left me. I had such love for that child and I didn't even know if we were having a boy or girl, this song, although it makes me deeply sad, has helped me a lot.
My girl is 2 months pregnant with my child. My family seems to have abandoned me because of it. They say that at 19 I can't possibly know what true love is. Well I beg to differ, I do know what true love is. It's being with someone who you know with your heart that you are supposed to be with and that nobody can say anything to sway you. I was in my late 20's when my beautiful daughter was born, she's now 17. When my handsome little man was born I was in my mid 30's, he's now 11. Now that I just turned 46 I'm still teaching my "babies" things a father needs to teach their kids. When my son was probably 9 or so, he said he wanted to be an Army Man like me. That made me so proud! And when my daughter graduates from high school next, she may not want to join the Army like I did, at least she's joining the Air Force Reserve, continuing the military tradition like both of her father, both grandfathers and all 4 great grandfathers. When she was born, even though I'm not a fan of that type of music, I found myself listening to Butterfly Kisses. I'm still trying to teaching my kids the things my father was not around for when I was growing up. The point of my rambling is this, love your kids, be there for your kids and mold them into the future greatness this country so terribly needs!
