    This movie caught me completely off guard. I started crying out off nowhere when I understood the message the movie conveys so beautifully: that we are all the same, but sometimes we can't help but see only that which makes us different. Once we make an effort to treat each other as individuals not as members of a group, though, we can see clearly who we are as a whole once again.

    • @crazychase98

      On the flip side which it conveys to is everyone is brutal and morally gray. Nobody was really "good". It was just about hard people willing to forgive each other. But they most certainly still disliked each other.

I do it because it is the thing to do and what everybody should do. This movie deserves special attention. You feel that you are there with them and you perceive how in those times you could really die for nothing and in less time than you could imagine. Violence was in every corner and the deprivation of rights beyond all limits. Bale (as usual honestly speaking) acts supremely. After watching the film you are left with a feeling of anguish and helplessness but........... if it is true that hope is the last to die, well in this film it is born towards the end :)

      @@alexsky88749 Perhaps that is why you do not see this way. The mind tends to blind itself to its biases. I for instance do not find it hard to grasp as I've spent the latter decade of my 22 years sharing such sentiments. So much so that I've been conditioned into a train of thought. My mind contrary to yours has developed a bias towards self-destruction in all its forms. Now that I've emerged from it all I'm still subject to the same patterns of thought. I now have to consciously see otherwise. like you stated Culture and upbringing are factors but also biology has a role to play in this. I've had a negative predisposition, from an early age. Low dopamine, serotonin Etc. I just felt as if nothing was ever enough. I couldn't fill the void within me so I'd actively abuse sources of addiction until they lost their utility. Eventually, all sources were spent, i was no longer able to get my fix. Unable to distract myself any longer I was forced to face reality for what it was, transitory. Great movie, he made a right decision by catching that train, he made a choice to stay alive - twice in the movie, two lives were saved, and the kid. Better together ! So much better, love is everything - agape love!

    Incredible work. Maybe falls just short of the all-time greats -- Leone, Peoples, Portis -- but only just. No exaggeration to say that it may be the third or fourth best Western ever filmed.
    For those who haven't experienced it: maybe 70% 3:10 to Yuma with 30% Last Samurai. Wow.

There is probably not much that i can add, as i am just another lost, troubled, and mixed-up soul here online. Nevertheless, may God comfort and strengthen you, Kyle, and may the soul of your dear departed wife be at peaceful rest in the arms of the LORD and all His angels and saints in Paradise.

    Go to 15:04, take a sit, put on some headphones.
    Close your eyes and just think of something sad that've been happening recently, what ever it could be about yourself, your family or Covid-19, the humanity or just the planet in general.
    How we humans are destroying the planet.
    "Never Goodbye" makes me think of the bad stuff that've happened and are happening.
    Max Richter is truly one of my favorite music composer. He really makes our ears orgasm by the way he have built up his songs.

    This movie is massively under-rated and somehow "overlooked" by the mainstream. I think it was right up there with Dicaprio,s The Revenant... Excellent acting and some of the best ive ever seen from Christian Bale. Why this movie never got simular reviews then The revenant is beyond me.... Weird thing is that it didnt get bad reviews either, its one of those excellent movies that get" overlooked" somehow....

    • @drn13355
      @drn13355 3 роки тому +1

      Define "under-rated". It got almost all great reviews. Just because it didn't put as many butts in seats as Spider man doesn't mean it is "under-rated".

    So so as the film goes. 'As becomes evident early on, the real, inward journey depicted in the film is the one where Blocker recovers his humanity by learning to grant the Indians theirs. This is a worthy theme and dramatic premise but it’s only partly, and rather unsatisfactorily, realized. While Blocker’s gradual change of heart-which eventually includes the first flickers of romantic interest in Mrs. Quaid-comes across thanks to Bale’s strong performance, the film’s biggest flaw lies in how underwritten the Indian parts are. Though the venerable Wes Studi is a commanding presence and fine actor, his character is given very little shading or dimension, and the other Indians are allowed practically none.' The failed theme of most American Westerns. Few if any replicate Soldier Blue or Little Big Man or Black Robe(Canadian).
