Lol, he _wasn't_ a great character. Almost every time Spyke got focus in a story, he was the angry, rebellious black kid and little more. By the time he started to develop beyond that, he was no longer a regular on the show.
I really hope we see Spyke again he was my favorite character in the show. And his powers were honestly very unique out of the team. And imagine what he could do if he got more experience with it.
Spyke was actually one of my favourite mutant powers to have. He's not the strongest, fastest or the most powerful, but he's the most versatile mutant of the bunch. Wished we had more of him tho.

I give Spyke credit, he actually did pretty good in combat against Brotherhood members like Toad and Blob And Evan does have an interesting character growth arc in the series from goofball teen to serious defender of The Morlocks

@@marcelzed1154 oh sure. the "flying brick" template of superhero is exceedingly common, for instnace. but in THIS case, a mutant with those exact abilitites that wound up hanging out with the Morlocks.. the main diffrnece between Spyke and marrow (other than color and sex) was marrow started with the morlocks and joined the Xmen..Spyke started out iwth the Xmen and joined the morlocks. they even both had Storm as a focal point.

I get what you are saying and I do think Marvel should honor Storms roots more often annnnd not pair here with Black Panther like Africa is some small place. But in Spike's case it would have felt as weird as asking Barack to acknowledge his roots. Man grew up around so many 🌝 he used to tell people to call him "bArrY". It could be done... It's just not normally what Americans do.

He wasn’t non-canon not in the traditional sense. The beauty of adaptations, whether they be movie or TV shows is that they have their own individual continuities thus their own individual canon.
