Your videos are good
I just subscribed you
I got s21+ and now getting this watch after your review
Good review thanks
Thanks for watching!
Thank you!
Thanks for your video. Question, Doctor told me not to do running cause of knee replacement but would be doing walking, and there is no altimeter in the charge 5. Say my walking goes up and down a few hills, does the charge 5 not register those walking steps? Read that charge 5 does not pick up step counts going up and down stairs, is gradual hills the same issue? I will have a new Charge 5 in a couple days. thanks for any info (got mine on a sale price). take care.
I've never seen it not work when going up a gradual hill. I haven't paid that much attention to it, but it should work for a standard hill from what I have seen.
@@GamerBody Thank you very much GamerBody for your information. I will be getting my Charge 5 tomorrow. Learning allot from all of you. take care.
Hey man, any tips for cutting? Do you keep your routines more or less the same when you're bulking/cutting?
The same. Know that you can build muscle while in a deficit. I also don't really "cut", I just focus on progressive overload and getting enough protein, then figuring out maintenance calories and being slightly under it.
@@GamerBody Okay great thanks. That's easy then. So you tend to be pretty conservative with your calories when you're "bulking"/"cutting"? I don't have a lot to lose, but gained too much fat recently on a sloppy bulk
I really just sit around my maintenance, and focus on getting stronger. That allows enough protein and usually a slow body fat loss. Too drastic a cut will lead to more muscle loss so a small deficit from maintenance with keeping training as close to optimal as possible.
@@GamerBody OK thanks Darrick! I won't go too drastic with my cut, and I'll just make small adjustments then to make sure the fat loss keeps heading in the right direction.
I've had a hard time getting things right with my calories in the past. My first ever bulk was a ridiculous dreamer bulk which took me a long time to recover from (lol). I'm a lot more careful now, but another problem I run into is when I don't quite eat *enough* (so I end up unintentionally maintaining, and my lifts + hypertrophy don't progress well).
For me, it seems tough to find those sweet spots, but seems like you've got it all nailed down!
Yeah things change. Remember that it also takes time to see results. Don't expect anything very noticeable for at least 6 months in terms of muscle building. Even then, it comes down to your workout history to see how much you can build. I'd focus on just getting enough protein and working on improving your exercises as much as possible.
Nice video, I’ve been thinking about what’s the best fitness tracker and looking forward for the Black Friday sales on it hopefully
It's pretty new, but you might get lucky!
Omg it is $50 off right now!!!
Nice!
I got it for 100
Good find!
It's actually $130 on Amazon right now Sunday 21st November.
Nice, that's a good drop from when I got it.
Everyone uses their phone, I have never put music on any smart watch, too much hassle when my phone is right there, so it’s definitely not missing on my Fitbit. As I’m just looking to upgrade from a charge 2 I’ve been rocking daily since 2016, which has been my go to next to my now defunct Apple Watch 6 (broke under regular use in 3 months), I think this is more than adequate, thanks!
Yeah I also use my phone. I still think a small amount of storage would be nice for something like music, but not something I really care for in the end. Minor con :)
I became addicted to my fitbit charge 5 when I wanted to track my fitness.
What do you track with it?
It would be nice if you tried this while on Night Shift. The Fitbit Charge 5 will not display HRV, Daily Readiness, or Stress Management at all if you're on Night Shift. Unfortunately I used this review to help me decide, not knowing that it wouldn't work for me at all. I have been posting my data on Twitter because I recently had to switch to day shift. Once I did, the FitBit finally worked. Please consider this for your next tech review.
Interesting. Is this some specific setting you are changing? Or it just doesn't work at all past a certain time?
@@GamerBody On the C5 itself (not the Fitbit app on phone) , under Settings --> Quiet Modes --> 2 choices to toggle = Sleep Mode or Schedule a time range. Could that be it? I had to make device sleep timer match the App sleep timer to get my Data right.
Had a Fitbit 4 and the part were the band attaches to the watch broke in less than a year. Will pony up and buy an Apple Watch. More expensive but a better product overall
Eh if you want to support Apple, which I won't ;)
hi, thanks for the video. Do you know which is the best choice for health and sports tracking between the fitbit charge 5 and the samsung watch 4? I hesitate between the both.
Unfortunately I have not used the Samsung Watch 4 so I can't provide a recommendation. I love the Charge 5, but not sure how they compare.
if you want to track your fitness with sleep then fitbit all the way cause watch 4 is bulky, if you care abt songs and other cool stuffs along with fitness then go for watch 4
I agree with you about the GPS... Does changing your stride impact this... I figured it was using that even you would think GPS would override it because I can walk the route and I get different results more in line with my varying my stride length..... My big issue with charge 5 is the inconsistent HR tracking it is very sensitive to motion and mine spike up almost every day to 90 or 100..I've even gotten Zone minuets being seated... I've had charge since Jan 2016 and my resting HR has gone from the mid 50's to the low 60's because of the spiking... Has anyone else had this problem?
I havent seen that. Mine stick around 50-55 at rest when awake and drops to high 40s at night when sleeping. In workouts I can get it as high as 160 but normally is about 120-130 with my workouts.
Awesome review only problem I am having is battery only been using it for three days charged to 100% by evening it's 58% any suggestions ?
Do you mean at the end of each individual day it goes from 100% to 58%, ot does it take 3 days to make that drop?
@@GamerBody yes each day this is with all notifications off and the always on display off this happened 4 days ago I just sent it back maybe get a new one thanks for replying also charged it to 100% wake up 6am @ 58% 🔋
@@MrBryan30 Did you ever solve the issue with the battery life? I picked up a Charge 4 after my Charge 3 eventually died from water damage after a year or two. The big problem I had with the Charge 4 is that the battery only lasted 2-3 days compared to the week I got on the previous model. I'm looking to upgrade to a Charge just for the longer barry life but if it doesn't last closer to 7 days then it wouldn't be worth upgrading for me.
Thousands of people have had this problem and Fitbit refuse to support their customers - give it up and buy a Garmin or anything else other than a Fitbit.
That bar you used in the beginning, what was it?
It is the INNSTAR resistance bands bar. Here is a 30 day review I made: ua-cam.com/video/SBSRux0kdG8/v-deo.html
One other con maybe worth noting, the Charge 5 lacks an altimeter so it won't count floors like the Charge 2, 3 & 4
Yeah it wasn't a big deal for me, but if you do then it will be an issue
@@GamerBody Same I ordered a Charge 5 yesterday couldn't pass up the lowered price ($129) I'll be upgrading from a Charge 2 which served me well, the floor count wasn't a stat I really focused on so no biggie.
I was thinking about getting one. I run a lot most of the time. Can it track the amount of miles on the watch and show it or do you need to check the app?
Sorry for the delayed response. It will show the distance (at least with the clock face I use) at the very top of the watch while doing a running activity.
if you start exercise run before running then it will show distance, pace, time runned and band has inbuilt gps so no need for phone if you don't listen songs while running
How do you sync your Renpho Bike exercise data to Fitbit Charge 5?
I don't sync them. I use the "spin" bike workout option on the Fitbit Charge 5. They come out a bit different, but it can be used as a separate way to track it time-wise. You might need to add it to the Fitbit through the app as you are only allowed 6 exercise options.
Is it true you can’t measure your SpO2 as and when you want? (apparently it will only measure when sleeping).
From what I seen you only get EDA and ECG scans. I don't better with Sp02 personally as it doesn't matter for me, but if you are using it for something it will need to be through the app unless someone knows otherwise.
I am really wondering how good the heart tracking is (compared to the apple watch, which is for me the reference in this field)
That I don't know as I personally don't buy any Apple products ;)
I'm sure someone has tested it though to compare.
Apple Watch has one of the best heart rate sensors on the market.
@@IAMMIKEO But not by far and if you compare the price.. You can go for professional medical equipment
@@Jimpansen7411 it’s definitely one of the best especially with tracking heart rate during exercise. One of the best wrist based for strength training-most accurate next to a chest strap. This is for fitness. Why would I spend a ton of money of professional medical equipment for working out with?
@@IAMMIKEO why would you spend a ton of money for a watch only for working out :p
Thanks for the tips...also the GPS is only on the 4 and 5, not the 3.
The 3 had GPS as it was the first Charge device to get it.
@@GamerBody nope...the charge 3 connects to Gps through your phone
I did a quick lookup on Google just to make sure the Fitbit Charge 3 has GPS as it has been a long time since I used it, and it says it is built in. It will use your phone if you have it on you to save battery, but if not, it has built in GPS.
@@GamerBody yeah wich means it has NO GPS built in. It connects through phone as I said. If it was built in, it would not need a phone ...
@@GamerBody the site imore is wrong. Fitbit said it themselves. NO GPS... The only difference between charge 3 and 4 is the built in GPS
What do the yellow and blue numbers represent on the main screen? Please help thanks!
The numbers are just the hour (yellow) and minutes (blue).
Ok thanks!
Will the Charge 5 track elevation gain on hikes?
From what I see it only tracks the GPS location. There is no altimeter to get the elevation.
Does it have temperature reading
I want something to read temperature when I’m in sauna and ice bath
I think this only takes place when sleeping. When I go to the Health Metrics area there is a skin temperature section, but only happens during sleep :/
Just bought the charge 5 today!
Nice. Let me know what you think of it after some testing.
Great review! Sadly, when you mentioned that they took off the weather app, I immediately decided not to buy it. Lol
Understandable. I wish they would just make it a part of the display or at least add a clock face option with it.
Great review is its accuracy. Check the youtube channel where the guy test vs legitimate and you would be surprised the difference.
But hey if it motivation man all out. much love
Would you say it’s better than the versa 2?
I've never used the Versa 2 so can't really compare. Does it have any features you want that the Versa doesn't?
@@GamerBody just built in gps. Also, can you see any other sleep data on the actual watch except for how much slept you’ve gwd
Had*
You get the sleep duration and score on the Fitbit Charge 5
Did u encounter any battery draining symptoms?
If you use the GPS a lot, I noticed it dies a day or 2 faster. Otherwise, mine hit the 6-7 day mark regularly. I also have all notifications turned off, so that may keep it going longer.
This might be worth looking farther into.
Yeah much better than the old ones, and I liked them for the most part.
Too late I swiped but anyways I forgot to check to see if it could check my blood pressure cuz legitimately I bought it with the thought well it will track my blood pressure so I can track my stress levels I think I read stress as a buzzword somewhere and that's what made me buy it.
I don't see an option to check blood pressure. It does have a stress "meditation" option and looks at heart rate/sleep, also EMG and EDA scans. I don't use any of that stuff, but it is there.
@@GamerBody yeah none of them do I guess it would be harder I don't know why I thought they would have the technology for it, I already have a device for blood pressure I just thought it would have been convenient if it was like monitoring my blood pressure all the time but I had to look it up and see that there's no device that currently has blood pressure checking technology
Yeah, if possible, good upgrade for the 6!
readyness is completely pointless if you do mainly weight lifting because active minutes are count not really when lifting because weight training isnt cardio
Agreed. It is pretty far off imo.
7 to 5 days? Mine lasts 1 day before it needs charging again. Fit bits advice is to turn all the apps off to preserve battery life. What's the point? Very disappointed.
I don't turn them off. I even have GPS auto turn on for certain activities. Not sure why they would tell you to turnt he apps off. I wonder if there is something else draining the battery. Do you have it doing a workout all day? Seems like a defective one.
@@GamerBody no. I only use it for steps. I do the odd jog here and there. I've had 3 other fitbits that had no battery problems. Fitbit customer service is a waste of time. Turn this off turn that off reset watch. Clean charger points. Nothing works.
Are they not up for replacing it? Seems like a dud
@@GamerBody I've got to do more tests.
Damn! I stuck on you getting 8:22 hrs of sleep. I had no idea that was even possible for someone to get; boy I'll sell my firstborn to get that 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Haha, only on the weekends. I get WAY less on weekdays (more like 5:30 or 6)
I returned mine today, heart rate tracking is not reliable during a workout, keeps dropping and wrong readings.
What is it doing when dropping? Like you start the workout and it cancels it on you?
@@GamerBody the heart rate reading shows "--" picks up again after a minute or two and then "--". Sometimes I am doing low intensity workouts and it tells me I am in the cardio zone.
@@GearBait I guess it depends how low cardio you are. Do you know what the heart rate readings when you are in low intensity?
Doesn’t it have always on display?
You can turn this on. I personally don't but it is a setting. I either have to tap the screen or turn it towards me.
Nice, review man! I would get that mole on your left hand checked out by a dermatologist. Painful experience talking. All the best.
Thanks for the concern. It has been looked at no worries as I've had others removed before :)
would you recommend the charge or the sense?
I've never used the sense so can't really compare. I do like the Charge 5 a lot though.
Unfortunately the subscription is annoying. I am hoping I can use it for free for 6 months and then if the Garmin Vivosmart 5 comes out and is good enough, I will switch over to that and likely sell the fitbit.
Yeah, mine just ended. While I don't use many premium features anyways, I have never been a fan of monthly subscriptions.
Just bought charge 5. Thing counts off steps just by moving my arm...they all do that? Wore it to bed n took dog out twice in middle of nite n woke up with over 800 steps counted out..wtf?? Maybe i was sleepwalking n didnt know it.
You will get some, but 800 is quite a bit more than I get. I may get somewhere in the 50-100 extra.
Im still trying to figure this out..im sure its on me.....nice that theres no directions on how to use set up etc...hafta come to you tube to get help....also i dont have different screen icon??
@@neal1266 I never had to set anything up for the steps. There might be something regarding stride length in the settings but other than that I don't remember changing anything.
@@GamerBody hey gamer...ok so i added walk to my exercise after deleting another.....how do people figure out how to operate fitbit since theres no instructions other than finding it here??..ty btw. Somethings off on my step counts...im trying to figure out how work this.
Too bad Fitbit doesn't allow turning off Bluetooth on any of its devices...
Hmm yeah that's how it syncs to the app. Wonder if they could make it only on wifi.
After 1 year and 4 months, my Fitbit charge 3 is dead. I used it maybe 3 times a week or less. I'll never buy Fitbit again
Sorry to hear that. I no longer have the 3 as I'm at the Charge 5 now, but I hope if you get a new brand it lasts longer!
@@GamerBody the warranty for my Fitbit was 1 year whereas for most other brands is 2 years. If other brand get broken too after 1 year, at least this is covered by the warranty. Next time I'll check this too
My Fitbit One is finally draining battery after 7 years.. Still lasts 3 days like that. Maybe it depends on our luck. But I'm looking into this Charge 5 as an upgrade.
Wow that is crazy you have a charge 1! I'm glad it lasted all these years
@@GamerBody I didn't use it continuously though.. mainly used it to track my soccer games when I remembered about it haha probably an average of 1-2 times a week
I HAVE RETURNED (March 2022) FOR A FULL REFUND MY NEW CHARGE 5 after Fitbit support acknowledged FITBIT has been working on a software fix to issues affecting battery life. NO ETA is know for the fix to the software. DO NOT BUY THIS watch until FITBIT comes clear about the fix to the batteries issues which can reduce the expected life from 5 days to 1 1/2 day.
I have never experienced this issue, even when using GPS. I'm actually making a 6-month review to release sometime this week as it is still my favorite device to date. Did support say this is happening to all of them, some, or a tiny number of Charge 5s? Again, mine lasts 5 days with regular GPS or 7 if I don't use GPS at all. That seems pretty good from my end. I also wonder if you have other apps such as notifications turned on that I don't draining the battery.
@@GamerBody I am so happy you do not have problems with your device. Don't lose sight that many other do. There must be various versions of the software out there. Fitbit support admitted that, but without providing numbers. How about supporting the consumers that are experienced the problems? I still have a ticket open with them, lets see if they will ever come back to me with notifications of a software release fixing charge 5 inadvertently getting into a high battery utilization . Just for fun I will chase them. BTW, the following text is from Fitbit support to me: [...We’re working on a firmware update and hope to fix the issue soon, we don't have an specific date but hopefully we fix this in 1 or 2 weeks. …]. Obviously, I did not take seriously the 1 to two weeks as this problem has been around since last year.
@@ronaldocruz5472 Not losing sight of it, just stating my experience with the device and it is why I included the comment in the video to let others know it has been reported. I simply buy and give my review on a product. All of my product reviews on this channel so far are just me buying the product myself and seeing what happens. The only company I have any contact with is RENPHO but that's just so they can use my review in their promotional materials since I do like the bike they have. They reached out after I made my first couple of UA-cam reviews on the bike.
So disappointed with this. I am unable to control music at all. My older MI band had better music control than this at almost 6th price.
Yeah you won't get any music features. Im actually glad they removed it from the 4 as it was pointless, but that's just me since I just used my phone.
No, now worth it. Very, very inaccurate. Alarms do not work. Step counter way off. Health data is useless and GPS is iffy. Seriously, this has not real use.
Not sure what's wrong with your alarms...do you have it set to pick when the best time for you to wake up based on a timeframe? For example, of you set for 8:30AM and have it set to pick a time within 39 minutes it attempts to find when you are in your lightest sleep to wake you up. This may be why it is off for you.
My steps are pretty close when doing normal walking. GPS is very close from all of my testing with some issues cutting corners. It is far better than the previous charge products and I've had since Charge 2. Health data is ok but I don't look at much else besides sleep.
I have major issues tracking sleep, and it says I work out when I'm not. I don't swim or bike at all. This product is really bad. I thought about keeping it just to track my heartrate but now its going back on ebay. They don't allow returns on the charge 5. I tried one years ago, and recently. They are still just gimmicks.
I haven't had any of these issues at all. I even have it auto track workouts and it has never added one I didn't do. Sorry to hear yours wasn't a good product.
@@GamerBody I wonder if its a body thing, I had bad results with the amazon halo as well. Its like VR, one day itll work well enough for everyone, but it might be a little early to have high expectations
Hmm yeah testing the Amazon Halo now to see how it is.

Lol! I think what he meant is that if fitbit can receive email notifications
194 dollars for this crap????
Depends how and what you use it for. Stay away if nothing catches your eye.
Absolutely worthless review. No mention about any of the sensors whatsoever. Is the HR accurate? Is the SPO2 working? ECG??? Sleep monitoring? Thanks for nothing.
Thanks for the feedback
Battery barely lasts a day, even after turning 80% of the 'features' off.
Been a fitbit user since 2013 so not exactly a novice at setting them up.
The Charge 5 is complete garbage I would advise all fence sitters to avoid at all costs.
Either you got a busted 2nd hand one, or a defect. I have everything but the notifications on an mine lasts 7 days of normal use, about 5 when using GPS. Easily the best Fitbit I've used to date.
Common sense would tell you there is just something wrong with your specific device, not the product itself.
Definitely have a defected one
Agreed. It’s incredibly inaccurate.
It says I have 21k steps a day.....? Yea no way.
4K calories? Yea no way dude. I walk a ton but the bodies HR wont burn that much just by walking. Unless it’s non stop for a good majority of the day. Sorry but the charge 3 was the last actually accurate watch
