M - it means your iPad / iPhone is a new device, which was purchased from Apple Store Online or Apple Retail Store.
F - it means your iPad / iPhone is a refurbished device.
N - it means your iPad / iPhone is a replacement device, which means that it was replaced by Apple or Apple Authorized Service Center due to a problem. Replacement iPhones are usually refurbished devices as well.
P - it means your iPad / iPhone is a personalized device, which means that the device has a personalized engraving.

Hyy I got iPad 9 generation 5 months ago but I got lines on the screen after 1 month of purchase, so I got replacement from the I planet Mysore branch as it couldn’t get repaired. Thanks for the info! I purchased the iPad Pro 4 and it didn't charge at all. I went to the Apple store and the service rep told me that he'll give me the new one on the same day and wait. However, he didn't give me the new one on the same day as he told me. Instead, they took my iPad and I had to sign the repair agreement last week. I thought that I get a new one. Yesterday, I went to pick it up at the store and I found that it is a replacement starting with "N". But still they said it is a "new" one. According to the video, I think "M' is the new product not "N". So I was unhappy since I didn't use that iPad that much. I felt deceived.
apple are scammers. they lie about everything, the so called airplay is nothing but a regular bluetooth and so on

I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.

I brought an ipad air5 everything was alright until I realized it was restarting unnecessarily... I contacted the apple service center they suggested me to observe it for 4-5 days then I went to the nearest authorized apple sc, after a day of testing they requested a replacement.. I just wanna know if I'll be getting a new ipad or the N series you mentioned they usually give us in a replacement?
Usually replacement unit with N, only exception is if a new device is launched for the initial 2,3 months they will give brand new one as replacement because it’s a new device

But i got 20W charger in the box except for 18W charger which was mentioned when i placed the order on apple website. I just keep on thinking like someone played with my ipad before it for delivered.

Usually apple website is the safest and I doubt they will sell opened piece until it’s mentioned official refurbished iPads

Refurbished is a very big word but refurbished doesnt mean that it got opened it can also just get cleaned and count as refurbished i think
So which one is better … having an “N” or an “F” serial. I am curious as I just got my replacement iPad Pro and it came with “N” does this mean the battery has been replaced to ensure 100% health?
Too bad that iPads don’t have battery health in Settings unlike in iPhones 😢
N is slightly better then F in few occasions as you might get a brand new device it also applies for ipads

▶️ it should be refurbished by apple only then only you will get F in the model no.
▶️if its done by a third party retailer or seller then it wont have the new model no.
▶️ The only way the M can be changed is for the Apple iPhone Factory to FLASH the new info to the motherboard and over write the old info. Only Apple can do a factory refurbish.
▶️If Phone Repair shop changes out anything on the iPhone nothing will change in the iPhones internal information and you did not do a factory refurbish.
▶️If an Apple repair shop changes out anything on the iPhone nothing will change in the internal information, still not an Apple Factory refurbish.

Any iPhone which has 1 year warranty with M can’t be Refurbuished. Usually local shops sells the non warranty one or 3 months warranty

If your ipad is constantly on the charger it will not charge upto 80% to preserve the battery.

You know in IPhone's you can check IMEI number to see when it was activated so you can tell if the phone is brand new or used repacked. Is there anyway to check the same thing on an iPad?

Just for correction, apple is required for an EQUAL TRADE, that means if your brand new ipad has problem, they will replace it with a Brand New ipad, if you have a refurbished ipad they will replace it with refurbished Ipad.
