    Dearest Eric,
    Thank Ya for Your in conditional Love for Music and for Your Fan's. Thank Ya for every single day's of Your Music during Your carera, specjally in the last stages of Your fight with the cencer.
    Ya lost the last battle for life, but Ya won the battle for Your immortal legend and in conditional eternal love from faithful and loyal Fan's.
    Ya are truly missin every day's and there are no words that could describe the emptiness and longing that remained when Ya had left this world and all of Your Beloved Family, Fan's and a Band's Mates.
    Hopefully Ya jam upstairs between the Angels of the golden ray's, in a place with no pain and no tears anymore...
    Pass my Love to mr.Razzle Dingley (R.i.P) as well, as Ya both were amazing and Ya both left Us preety long way too soon...
    Rest in peace Eric, never forgotten, always deeply in heart ♡ [*]

    I've been a KISS fan since I was 8 years old, but Paul and Gene should have put the band on hold while Eric was going through hell in the hospital. The fact that they kept on going with making records while Eric was fighting for his life just seems so cold. I know my own family would be spending every minute they could with me if I was dying of cancer.

      ***** I just watched this video and thought the exact same thing as you two. I've been a fan for 40 years and when I saw the Rush documentary and saw that Alex and Geddy put the band on hold for Neil when he was going trough his troubles,, then I see what Gene and Paul did to Eric, just makes me wonder what the hell they were thinking.

    • @ClydeDay
      @ClydeDay 10 років тому

      I saw a video where Eric singer kept asking to sing Beth, and Gene kept telling him no. Finally Gene said out of respect, and talking with Peter we agreed no to do Beth live anymore. I can't believe they would out of respect for Peter do that for a song, but turned around, and did what they did to Eric. Every band so far has had the moment when they went from "About the band" to "about the money/fame". I play drums, but I doubt I will ever be in a band because there is a point where you can't trust the other members because they get about the money. You can tell when it happens when you see them dissecting a song on their album. Well you get writing credit, and you get credit but just for the chorus, and you get drum credit, and you get solo guitar credit. When your a band everyone should have equal credit for every song.

    • @rocsaltjohn
      @rocsaltjohn 9 років тому +4

      Clyde Day You shouldn't be in a band. It is called "the music business" for a reason. The taking credit thing, well that has to be spelled out. There is no such thing as "the three musketeers" even without fame. If I write a song, I get the credit and the fortune. Just because you played the drums doesn't mean you did the grunt work. I fed you a drum line and you played it.
      Conversely, if you write a song, you would want it played the way YOU wrote it. I would have to follow suit because it's your song.

    • @ClydeDay
      @ClydeDay 9 років тому +1

      Frank Patek ummmm I see you know a lot about me, and just because I express my opinion on something you come to the conclusion I shouldn't be in a band? wow I am so glad you aren't the king of music, and can tell people what they should, or can do. Maybe I mite be wrong on something, and if I am I admit it, and grow from it, but I am glad you like to down someone for their opinion, and tell them "You should never be in a band" last time I checked, and I have been in a band (I play drums). It is a collaborative thing. When you are in a band, unless it is like (Garth brooks) where the one person just hires people to play the instruments so they get a salary. If it is a band like Metallica then if one member writes a song the writer gets the most points on the song, and the rest are given to the other members. Just because you write a song doesn't give you 100% ownership of it. If the guitarist comes up with a bar, and players it for the band then the drummer hears it, and starts with a beat. The guitarist doesn't come up with all the instruments. a song is pieced together by all members not just one. If one person like say the singer (Axl rose) comes in and trys to take it all then you get rid of him.

      I understand how you feel. However....Regardless of what you think. There does come a time when the show must go on. Paul states that many times. Kiss also became a business to. And when your employee isn't going to be working due to medical or otherwise you prepare and replace them temporarily. So the money or in this case, the show, can continue. because you've got to keep in mind, what you're thinking left when Peter & Ace had to ejected. Peter left a few times. Ace I'm about to learn from Paul, as well as Gene. lol But I believe this man knew how to run shit. Big time.
      Thumbs up to Paul Stanley. Way ta go man. Set your goals, and let nothing detract em.

    I have to agree with Gene and Paul.. it doesn't seem fair at all. Eric was a stand-up guy, class act, and a wonderful soul. KISS could not have picked a better replacement for Peter Criss. It was sad to hear of his passing. He did what he loved to do and it was great KISS gave him that opportunity. I'm sure he didn't want to leave the band because he loved doing what he loved to do, and he would rather keep doing what he loved given his condition. I think this may be why he was crushed having to be out of the band. But I think Gene and Paul would've sincerely wanted Eric to get better... I think all of us wanted that. Great guy... R.I.P.

    For all you fools who believe that Paul and Gene "fired" Eric when he got sick....
    Then Eric Carr playing drums in a wig due to chemo therapy on the video "God gave rock and roll to you" is an aberration. He wasn't fired. He was told to get better and that it was more important for him to do that then play drums in Kiss.

      CPapadakis It's a fact because it makes perfect sense. I think Eric Carr had a big chip on his shoulder. I don't think Eric Carr really felt comfortable around Paul Stanley. And if you read the book, I can completely understand why . Paul Stanley in his own words was pretty much a jerk to everybody around him . I've seen many interviews with Eric and he could give it and take it.

    Of course there are still tears in my eyes listening to this from Paul and Gene. I wonder like many below comments if it would of helped him with them putting the Band on hold for a short time out of respect for Eric. We can just imagine the thoughts going through his mind in that NY Hospital while life was going on out in CA. We will never know. What we do know is his undying love for KISS and everyone could see by the way he played the drums and just plain enjoyed being in the Band. I love Eric Singer but for that time, it was all about Eric Carr! All opinions aside, RIP Eric Carr! We love you! He was just a fun person.

      Susan O'Brien I don't remember...who was that guy playing the drums in the "God gave rock and roll to you 2" video?
      I think it was Eric Carr in a big wig because of the chemo he lost all his hair. So this idea that after he got sick they ditched him...well that video kind of says it's a load of crap.

    • @rocsaltjohn

      +Titus Andronicus then I guess you should be watching Rush then and not worrying about kiss if you feel that Rush has a better moral compass on what kiss was and is. this is an old old argument. You don't have to like Kisd. I don't really care. It doesn't really matter. They don't need you to buy the tickets when they're already sold out. Eric Carr was sick and Eric car needed to rest. Nobody else in the band was sick. Eric car was not a full member of Kiss. Eric car was not an original member, he was a Hired Hand. He was in the band as long as he could come back. unfortunately he didn't. I'm tired of people who weren't there talking all about what they know happened

      Eric begged to be in the video...and was. I would have told him the same thing as Paul told him...get better. Don't worry about work. That's what friends do for friends. Not interested in what Rush did simply because it has no bearing on Kiss. How one business handles a crisis isn't necessarily good for another. We are not privy to the circumstances.

    It's so sad.....Eric died thinking that Paul and Gene stabbed him in the back, but in reality, they just wanted what was best for him. They thought it wasn't right for him to be in Kiss while he was fighting cancer, they wanted him to get better first. Like austinfailz said, could it be possible that Eric gave up in the end? And let the cancer kill him because he was so angry and upset with Gene and Paul because they wouldn't let him remain in Kiss?

      That is not completely true. The band was dying with Eric. Hot in the shade did not have much chart success and smashes, thrashes and hits had really try hard pop tunes that did nothing. Revenge pretty much sustained the band for atleast a little bit.The band went from praying stadiums, to arenas, to small theaters and even opening for other bands like Iron Maiden who also did not have their best period in the early 90s

    From reading the book "Kiss and Make-Up" I got the sense that Eric Carr was a really sweet, good man. When he auditioned with the band - one among many drummers that auditioned at that time - , he asked the guys for their autographs. He really didn't think he would get the gig. He died from breast cancer. No, life is not fair, and I also don't have any sympathy for those who deliberately self-destruct while others who have life-threatening diseases are struggling to stay alive.

    I am a Kiss fan but it was obvious that Eric Carr was sick during the taping of God gave Rock and Roll to you. The least they could have done was show a little more of him playing the drums, considering it could have been the last thing he would have done. And it was. They only showed him (and Bruce) in tiny flashes. The video was all Gene and Paul. Always centerstage. They couldnt put the new album on hold for just a few months and been there for Eric. He was always there for them.

    What Paul fails to mention is that Eric cut all ties to them is because they were looking to fire him and terminate his health insurance. If you have cancer and had open heart surgery, the last thing you need is your benefits cut. If he never saw them or had any contact, he couldnt be terminated. Erics parents confirmed this story....Paul & Gene were looking to save the companies losses. It sucks to hear that, but it was true....

    Gene and Paul did care for Eric, since they were friends, however, they told Eric he had to fight off the Cancer and recover before he could return to the band, so in truth, they did not kick him to the Curb, Eric took it the wrong way at the point where he cut off communication from the rest of the band, to this day they still miss him, and that includes Peter and Ace and Bruce and Eric (Singer).

    It seems pretty obvious that they brought in Eric Singer because they thought Eric Carr was only going to be laid up temporarily. It sounds like they didn't quite have a grasp on how serious the situation was, and were kind of going with the attitude that "It won't happen to one of us," so we'll hold down the fort until he gets back. Does anyone else think that prolonged, immense, emotional suffering can cause physical maladies in us? I guess scientifically it's a stretch, but we are feeling beings, as much as we are physical. From what I gather, once Eric joined KISS (a dream come true), he was relentlessly hazed and belittled by Paul and Gene.
    There was the time Eric locked himself in a hotel room for three days, refusing to see anyone, naked, but for a pair of sunglasses. Who or what was he hiding from? And as Paul explains in his book, there were times when Eric stopped talking to Paul altogether, for months at a time. Maybe he got fed up with being the butt of jokes and being treated like an inferior stepchild, which perhaps is why Eric often lamented about never being able to be the "original drummer" for KISS. I'm sure it wasn't so much that Eric wished he played on the early KISS albums, but that if he was there from the beginning, maybe he wouldn't have to take so much shit. Eric was such a kind, unaffected, tender soul (by every account I have ever heard), constantly absorbing ridicule (much like Jason Newsted did for almost twenty fkn years in Metallica) from his prima donna rock star bosses.
    Paul also said that when he would invite Eric to cruise over and kick it at his house, Eric would always ask if other people were going to be there, and if Paul had other guests, Eric refused to come over. Why? Maybe because Paul would routinely dump on him in front of the other guests? The belittling and condescension must have broken Eric's heart on a daily basis; to live the dream, along with this simultaneous nightmare (maybe enough to make a fragile person physically sick)? And Paul and Genes' flippant dismissal of Erics' unique, horrific, condition, crushed him. I hope it was worth it, Paul & Gene, to leave a very sick man who was fiercely loyal to you and KISS for a decade, to do a sappy cover song and video for a lame sequel of a bullshit movie.

    Gene and Paul would never let another member's departure of any kind stop the band from continuing, Eric was a very good drummer but in comparison to Zeppelin not continuing without Bonham was very rare but Bonham was such a staple of the sound that was Zeppelin that they would not have been the same with any drummer, Bonham wasn't just a any rock drummer and couldn't just be replaced, he was too legendary and Page and Plant knew that,

    Eric and Paul had issues which were recounted in several books that seemed to have hit their peak on the 'Crazy Nights' Tour. While I agree from an outsider that it would have been better to delay the next album (I can't imagine Rush doing an album with Neil Peart suffering from cancer), I also believe from what I have read that Eric may have been a later casualty from the band regardless. And both Paul & Gene have said that even the reunion still would have had Peter.

    While Paul & Gene try to sound like they were doing the right thing by telling Eric that he needs to be thinking of himself (which was true) The fact is that at this point Eric had been in KISS (as a hired gun) longer than Peter had been in KISS. The right thing for P&G to do was hold off on making a new record. Even listening to Paul's comment of "IF" you get better you can come back. To me it just sounds like they had already been resigned to Eric wasn't going to make,l so let's forge ahead.

  • @TNO73
    @TNO73 11 років тому

    I am going to make 2 points. 1. You seem to be the type that will defend P&G no matter what, but the real thing here is 2. What would have been SO BAD about waiting? Telling Eric that IF he gets better he can come back, but in the meantime we are going to replace you & make an album. Just wait! Eric would have died happier & people like me wouldn't think P&G were as greedy & as heartless as they appear. Revenge would have been made with Eric Singer & still been a kick ass album.

    I believe Paul Stanley was torn apart, as was Bruce Kulick, about the whole Eric Carr situation. I believe Paul and Bruce was more compassionate about Eric's situation than Gene Simmons was...supposedly, with all due respect.

    Made me wonder if Eric had stayed in Kiss whether he would have defeated the cancer and come back stronger than ever on Revenge. Gene and Paul are assholes for abandoning the great Eric Carr. Thry are selfish Jews for putting their next album first over helping out their friend who was in need. He gave his life to the band just as much as Paul and Gene did

    Its funny how downright lies are accepted by "fans".
    Eric was a godsend and star but needed to be treated as a humanbeing and a friend.
    Did you give it to him Mr.Stanley?

    It just goes to show that gene and pauls hunger for money was more important than being there for a brother that was down and out . its sickening to even think about . I was a huge die hard kiss fan but I lost respect for kiss . when gene and paul brought in tommy thayer and made him the next ace , that was the final straw for me . I can see why ace and peter left the band and hopefully they will never go back to gene and paul

    Probably. Because how was Eric supposed to 'get better' to be able to be back in the band. Even though Eric Carr had cancer, he gave more of himself for the making of the video, than the others. Because he had less time to live.

    @DefLeppardVanHalen Then Paul and Bruce should have and could have stuck by him. Gene is one man in a band...granted he's an important part, but what could he have done if the rest the guys had refused? Fire them all....doubtful. Paul and Bruce were adult men that had a choice and turned their backs. Paul admits it himself in the video. What's done is done so no point arguing, but some situations are black and white...and this is one of them.

    ..of course Eric cut off communications with Gene and Paul.. he was heart broken, no pun intended.. he wasn't allowed to come back to what he loved to do most and that's play music with a band he trusted and loved.. see kids, in Eric's eyes, he felt controlled by Paul and Gene, and he was.. coz we all know Gene is a control freak lol.. sad Eric had to end is relationship with them on a sour note..RIP..
    ..i just got that Asian symbol of power as a stick for my car in tribute to Eric..RIP

    well if kiss was under contract to make a new cd they had no choice in the matter BUT i didn't hear paul or gene one time in anything they have ever said about eric that he was fired from the band.eric was probably in so much pain sick and all of that can make you not think right and he probably thought they replaced him and anyone can see that if you have ever had a family member or close friend dying from cancer. paul and gene can be assholes i'm sure but about this i can't see them being that way with this and eric was close with bruce and he has never said anything about paul and gene replacing eric for good.it's been a long time since he passed but it's still sad to this day because how would somethings like getting back with ace and peter would have worked out when eric had his makeup and was in the band longer then peter i think i read that at one time.i guess it could be something else that peter could bitch and whine about.

      Robert Haizlip Yes, they told him that he could come back when he got better. So yes, they technically fired him. With the promise that he'd return when he got better.
      The band (a major business) cannot halt everything due to one person. This is a million dollar business. He was replaced to come back when he got better.
      Get a dose of reality man. Kiss wasn't "a club". I think some of you act like they all lived in the same house together and hung out all the time. It was no different than going to your job and someone on the team was sick. If they're sick too long, then they hire a replacement to do the job until they come back.
      It was a business. It had to move forward.

      *****
      That's admirable what Def Leppard did to Rick. That might not have been an option for Kiss at the time of Eric's passing. There's a lot of behind the scenes business deals that go on that we were not privy to. To simply dismiss Paul and Gene after they've said that they never fired him...that's careless. Paul and Gene have no reason to lie. Their popularity wouldn't suffer if they said "we let him go".
      You remind me of an "Ace and Peter Only" hater that cannot come to terms with the reality that Kiss has been Monstrously successful without them. Paul Stanley is successful and you can't stand it.
      Eric Carr was a great drummer. But he needed time to heal. That what was important. Not playing in Kiss.

    Too bad KISS didn't have any love for him. Paul and Gene should take a page from the Queen playbook and learn what it means to stick by your bandmate and not kick him when he's down. You don't kick your brother to the curb just so you can keep on going and making money. They didn't do it for the fans or for Eric, they did it for themselves. Selfish bastards then and selfish bastards now!

      Def Leppard refused to record when Rick Allen lost his arm until Rick learned to play again or when Rick would tell them he couldn't do it. Paul and Gene essentially fired Eric for having cancer. Their God is green.
