I’ve said this before, but it still applies…
“Just when I thought there wasn’t anything else to improve this cook set”
👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you for watching!
It's funny, I was going to write the same thing, lol.
Doesn't improve it at all. Ruins it.
Pretty genius hack. Bravo to the guy who figured that out.
Indeed, thanks for watching!
For those that add the Ozark Trail SS Cup on the bottom, here's a tip: Obtain a thin cozy, like the promotional give-away ones. Put it on the Stanley cup, then slide on the Ozark cup. It will fit snug enough to not slip/fall off. This is easier to use than a band, eliminates jangling, and keeps soot/dirt on the bottom of the Stanley from getting into the Ozark.
Yes, I added that in one of the earlier hacks on this set. It's a good idea.
@@WayPointSurvival Thanks. I believe I was the one that suggested it to you some time ago, lol. Glad it's worked out. I was just throwing it out there again for anyone that may have missed it 😉
I would have thought them being double-walled for insulation would have been a desirable feature.
And I think def it is! The cup can still be used as intended, but if a 3rd or 4th cup is needed, at least it’s an option! :) but yes one would have to sacrifice the double walled insulation when using the additional cups
Plus you can only boil enough water for 2 cups at a time, if I was expected to supply hot drinks and food for 4 people I’d take a bigger set, it’s a clever trick don’t get me wrong but I think using it a few times you will realise you’ve ruined 2 good cups for 4 cups that cool really quick
All you have to do is stack them back together and you have your insulated cup back again.
I find hot drinks are always too hot! 😅 Some times I have to wait for a hours fory flask to cool down and wish it would just not be as insulated..
Some of you are missing the point here... Its not a 4 cup set if you dont want it. Do one and get 3 cups. OR, what I see, you get 2 cups in the space that one took before. Still a 2 cup set, with a Lot more space available. Also, the minute thickness difference in them really shouldn't lose much insulation... not much there to start.
Personally I'd have to find those cups to do the mod... They were so bulky I never ever used them ever once, took them out and threw them into storage somewhere... There are several GSI mugs that nest beautifully, just clip the loop handles off.
I absolutely love these Stanley 2 cup cook set hacks James!!!!! Thisbone especially, like you said you have your container and 3 cups!! Something so simple yet sssooo very effective! Thank you very much for whatnyou do for us and our community!!! Keep up the great work James!!
Thank you for watching and I'm glad you liked it!
Very nice. I didn’t know they were double walled . Thanks to you and thank the person who clued you in on it . Y’all have a blessed evening
Thanks, you too!
Using the hack saw so this qualifies as a true life hack LOL that was great! This is a very practical idea to use for the Stanley cook set! Thanks for all the wonderful ideas!
You're most welcome and thank you for watching the video!
Someone is trying to scam folks and telling them they have won a prize. I am not running a giveaway currently. Please do not give them any information. They have been reported to UA-cam. Thanks for watching and for your understanding!
Very nice magic trick. I would have 4 small flower pots if these were mine . Happy Trails
Cool! Thanks for watching!
Another excellent idea! Have you tried hot liquid in the cups? Do they get soft or too hot?
@@WayPointSurvival very impressive modification indeed 😎👍
Kind regards from England.
@@davidjacobs828 England here also
All I can say is James bender . Is a good man . I had a problem with some one try to scam me and I called him at his way point survival number. And he was teaching a class and took the phone call and had a conversation with my girlfriend. And now I feel better. Thank you James. God bless. From Glenn CATT in Massachusetts. Keep up the great work.
Outstanding, Thanks James. This has been my go to kit and now it is even better.
Thanks for watching, glad you liked it!
Well, found my next project. Love this hack. Had to get rid of one of my cups to have room for my stove in this kit. Might combine this with the silicone band hack to hold them together as a double insulated cup for when I'm solo.
That sounds like a great idea! Thanks for watching.
I love how all your hacks are done with regular everyday tools!
Thanks, I try to keep it as simple as I can.
Thanks for another great Stanley cup hack. I've been using the Stanley cookset (in various configs) for almost 10yrs now. No way to justify purchasing anything to replace it.
It really is a very versatile set. Thanks for watching!
@@WayPointSurvival now to find a use for the air gap space in the newly separated cup 🤔
@@johnsinclair3067 I wonder if a napkin would fit in that space? It could be used as dry paper to start a fire, or for when 'nature calls' behind a bush, lol!
@@SPCLPONY or 100% cotton "bandana" to serve as a dish towel and donor material to make more char cloth when on extended outings?
@@johnsinclair3067 Good idea!
Another way to smooth out the edges is to put tin foil in a frying pan over heat then put the cup lip side down and the heat melts the lip flat and smooth.
Good idea, thank you for watching!
Thanks to the unknown cup hacker and to you, James. You're amazing!
Thank you for watching!
Many many Stanley hack videos ago I thought, there really can't be any more hacks.... You continue to prove me wrong. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge!!
You are most welcome! Thanks for watching.
I really like this one. I took the 2nd cup out long ago so I could fit my stove and gas can inside. Works fine when I'm alone, but now I can still have 2 cups for when there's company, and it takes no extra space.
Great idea!
Thanks for watching!
I love adapting equipment to meet my needs. Love this hack. Did to both cups in my kit and divided them among my other kits. Thanks for sharing!
Great, glad you liked it!
I've used the Stanley cook set for several years. It is an excellent piece of kit. This hack can make it even more useful. Thanks for sharing.
Great, glad you liked it!
Came here for a school project but I guess I'll stick around your videos are awesome!!
Thanks so much!
Hello James. That was an outstanding hack that gives a lot of viewers something to think about whenever they have a Halo cup in their hand and need an extra cup for something or someone. So thank you for that hack it's a great idea, especially when we're out camping. 💯❤👍💪☝🇺🇸
Thank you for watching, glad you liked it!
Another ‘’Stanley Hack’’! Dang James I told you I can’t keep up! You are the King of Hacks and this Stanley Set has got to be in the top 5 of the most versatile camping accessories ever designed.
Yes, it's a pretty amazing piece of cookware. Thanks for watching!
I enjoy your hacks. This is another good one. I need to go back to your first ten hacks.
Thank you so much, my friend!
I must say you're pretty ingenious to have solved that issue with the Stanley cups.
I cut one of mine apart like you showed and it made two cups so I put it in my Stanley camping equipment. I used the other one for watering my dog. I haven't cut it apart yet but I might later on. That was the best hack I've seen so far. And what I do is I put my MSR burner inside with the two cups cut apart along with a lighter and I add a washcloth on top and pack it down. Put the lid on and insert it inside a koozie or what "Shug" (Sean Emery) calls a "Cozy!"
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Always interesting and great tips too, thanks again James. 👍
Thank you for watching!
Such an easy and simple trick. So good if your a family of 4 as well.
Indeed. Thank you for watching!
Another outstanding video! Thanks for the hack.
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching!
That hack is absolutely genius. thank you and your friend the idea, I'm def gonna do this to at least one of my cups.
Excellent, glad you liked it!
👍 Great idea , especially for families , or hunting / fishing buddies . You unfortunately do lose the minor insulation the dead airspace gives you but these cups are not that big that a hot drink will get cold too quickly .
I believe it will still insulate a little bit even cut apart. Thank you so much for watching!
You could still probably put a neoprene koozie around it for insulation, plus the neoprene is lightweight and compactible!!!
@@fookingsog , Neoprene koozie is a great idea , doesn't matter if the drink is hot or cold works both ways , good thinking . Thanks !
I've seen this reply a couple of times. Just do the hack on one cup so you can have that steaming cup of hot coffee.
Coffee only stays hot for all of two minutes in these tiny cups anyway.
Hey brother.. can't believe I'm the first to leave a comment.. lol.. love Your work, keep it up please.. and thank you... simper fi
Congratulations and thank you for watching!
That is ingenious! Great job!
Thanks!
Another great hack, never get tired of seeing these.
Thanks!
Hi James. A really great hack - thanks for sharing and stay safe. ATB. Nigel
Thank you, my friend!
They had small, plastic cups on clearance at Walmart for $.25 each. They work, too! I have mixed feelings about the Stanley set pot handle.
Another great video, thanks for the time you put into bringing great content to your viewers.
Thank you for watching!
I've seen a lot of videos where people throw these great little cups away and just use the rest of that set. I never understood that, I love these cups, now I have reason to love them even more.
Excellent, thanks for watching!
I'd put it in a lathe with a needle sharp cutter. Great hack James
Good idea! Thanks for watching!
while i like this in theory. the double wall provides for insulation (i think). But I will have to look at doing this.
All you have to do is put them back together and you have an insulated cup again.
@@WayPointSurvival as long as the air stays sealed inside I don't see how it wouldn't stay insulated
The insulation is from the dead airspace between the 2 cups. I don't believe there ever actually was a vacuum.
@@WayPointSurvival and that’s why I put I think lol. But awesome hack my friend
It's not the double wall, it's the sealed space that it creates. Like double pane windows. Heat/cold has trouble moving through dead air. In the old days they were even vacuum sealed, not sure if it made a difference.
This is borderline genius level!
Thank you for watching!
Love this one. I have three of these kits I use in several operational conditions. This will be a nice little modification.
Thanks so much!
I wish you would have told us where that lid comes from. Easier than trying to backtrack through your videos. For a more exact cut, I think that screwing a utility knife blade to a wood spacer the correct hight and rotating the cup would give a cleaner cut with less fuss to deal with after separating it into two. A very neat hack for sure.
JASON I Found lid in sporting goods section of Walmart. Standard small mug lid.
I put a link to the video where I speak about the lids and the lids and the description box. There are actually a couple of lids that I found that will fit it. And, as another commenter stated, you can find one of them at Walmart. Also, a utility knife screwed into a wood spacer at the correct height would not cut through the plastic properly. It's too hard.
@@WayPointSurvival hacksaw blade could be clamped to a spacer and the cup turned against it probably.
@@Vikingwerk just mount the cup on your lathe and spin it while holding the hacksaw blade to it. Perfect cut every time.
@@michiganmoto7687 lemme just run out and buy a lathe real quick! 😜 there’s always a better tool.
That's a neat trick brother. Thanks for posting. God Bless.

Best stanley hack out there, Thankyou.
Thanks for watching, glad you liked it!
I never use the cups normally. They take up room that I could be using for other stuff.
I've got 4 of them sitting in my cupboard. This hack might actually get me to use them.
If I can get them to fit in there with an isobutane canister and my stove and sponge, I'll be in business.
This hack series for the Stanley pot has been absolutely amazing.
Great job with this!
Sounds great and I'm glad you've been enjoying the series!
Great idea!
Thanks!
Amazing!
Thank you for this video! Fairly ingenious! One could do this to one of the cups while keeping the other cup whole. One would then have three cups, one of which is insulated, and has a lid. Fascinating!
Keep on rockin'!
Actually, all you have to do is stack the cups back together and it is insulated again. I do not think that the cups were vacuum sealed. So cutting them apart and then putting them back together doesn't change the effectiveness.
What a fantastic 'hack' . Just wanted you to know how much I enjoy your vids. Not just foe the fantastic tips n hacks but also cuz you are so Positive and seem so really kind n decent. Thanks my Friend, stay safe, be Blessed.
