I had a dream, with a negative goal. You can’t “achieve” a negative goal: never smoking, never dipping into debt, never overeating. Negative goals require an action to measure against. It’s kind of like dividing by zero: you don’t have any action to measure success and failure against. It’s a standstill in terms of motivation. As long as you don’t move anywhere or do anything, you’re “winning,” you’re “achieving your goal.” That’s a false success. I needed a positive goal to reach for; the negative goal in my mind necessitated that positive goal in order to leave me feeling content and accomplished. Instead, I burned rubber for over nine years. I had the most beautiful, powerful ship, that never left port. I coasted along the highway of life, letting the natural friction of the asphalt slow me down gradually. I kept myself pure and blameless; in doing so, I kept myself lazy and unaccomplished. If you want to pursue a negative goal, make sure you have a positive one as your central focus, that necessitates the negative goal.

NOTES:
Dreams need to be tangible, not concrete, up in the clouds. It need to be a VISION.
You need to make it happen. It requires ACTION. You need to do the tactical & small actions but you need to do a mission statement. You overexpand & get cluttered. You need to FOCUS. Or anything goes. It will be too broad (Ex.: I want to make money) & you'll be all over the place.
Mission statement keeps you focused. You need a deeper reason than making money. What are your natural skills, what are you good at? Your skill set, your personality traits, your values.

The Law of Attraction is why America is so screwed up right now. People bought that "you can command the Universe to do anything and it MUST obey" crap. Funny, if it worked, wouldn't we all be lottery jackpot winners? Wouldn't we ALL avoid getting cancer? Or have our cancer treatment be successful? Wouldn't we ALL avoid sexual assaults, having children be molested? According to the LAW of "ATTRACTION" , it's the toddler's fault for being molested, he/she must have dwelt on it, they focused on it and the Universe obeyed their command and brought the molester to them?
Why wars happen? Because people want it?

This is so good! On my channel tomorrow my video series will be on goals and starting with defining a dream and vision for your life. I linked your article on your website "How To Write a Personal Mission Statement" in my description box so ppl could read and use that. So many ppl only think of mission statements in the corporate world, not why they should do it personally. I LOVE all your content!
Taking a long time to make a point, and he’s doing a lot of talking without really saying much. Is anything he said really “new” information to any of the adults in his audience? The audience looks like it’s getting restless.
I like the message but let’s not distort the bible. It does not say vision it says knowledge... “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”

Well, those mothers are weakening their children with their no score policy, so yes that's a really stupid idea. Don't be that kind of mom, your children gonna face a rough world so they need to be as as strong as possible.
Jesus said, to live one day at a time. If the dream or vision does not come from God it's just imagination which becomes idolatry.
Dave's appeal is his wealth not His God. He's teaching idolatry just like most false ministers of Satan.
