    Brilliant tip, thanks. I have just found your channel and having watched a couple of uploads, subscribed. I look forward to playing catch up as I have a 96 blade. Thanks 👍

      I am sat looking at the rain (its the end of April) pining to get out on my 'blade. Hope you enjoy the other videos.

      @@SPANNERRASH thanks, I will. I keep thinking about selling the blade as arthritis means I seldom ride it, sometimes I decide it has to go, then I open the garage door and one look at it, changes my mind.

    As soon as I seen the Mercury sticks I knew you knew what you were doing. There's some clown on another UA-cam channel messing with the carburetors he has no clue what he's doing 🤣😂🤣😂😂😂😂

      I have had them for a long time. I'm a bit annoyed that they are short of mercury now, and I am struggling to find somewhere to buy some. Thanks for not thinking I am the clown :)

      Sorry I haven't played with the fuel tap on mine, but try looking at the diagrams on CMSNL, they may help,

    What's the standard butterfly opening for these carbs? I'm trying to fit a set of cbr900rr keihins on a vw 1300cc engine of a breadvan.

      Sorry I can't help you with that.. Sounds like an amazing project.

    What a great idea! I've been wanting to sync the carbs on my Nighthawk cafe racer. I've noticed that when I rev the engine it seems to "hang" slightly going back to idle when I let off the throttle. Do you think syncing them would help correct that little issue? Thanks again for your videos.

    • @SPANNERRASH
      @SPANNERRASH  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks mate, and sounds like it could help, but I'd definitely check the cables first. Then I'd see if you have any vacuum leaks around the carb rubbers. Although you should do that before syncing the carbs anyway. :)

    Hi there I can't remember? Did you ever give a guide how to apply for historic motorcycle tax and not exemption, kind regard Dave, keep up the good work

    • @SPANNERRASH
      @SPANNERRASH  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, you need to fill in a V112 for the MOT exemption, here is a write up about it www.spannerrash.com/v112-form-mot-exemption/ . For the Historic tax change you can take your V5 into a post office and they will send it in for you. You can probably do it by post too, but I find it easier to get the post office to send it off. Hope it goes smoothly for you.

      @@kimsmith4409 I've never played with a DOHC one, however guitar strings really help to clear pilot jet airways if you need to do that.

      Probably somebody just moved them in the past. The petcock vacuum line just needs to come from the inlet tract after the carbs, any of the ones used for carb ballancing is fine. Maybe a PO just found it easier like that. I wouldn't overthink it :)

  • @jonny-p-8927

    Your vacuume line on yours is capped on mine and my vacuume line is on the left side that goes to my petcock why would this be

    • @SPANNERRASH
      @SPANNERRASH  Рік тому +1

      As long as the vacuum is connected, it can be to any of the ballancing take off points. Maybe a PO just found it more convenient to move it.

      @SPANNERRASH thank you for your reply I have my carbs sync all the same idles nice and revs all the way while in neutral,but when I ride its fine and when I get to motorway speed and open my throttle up it seems to bog down and sounds like a clipping nosie from the exhaust even though its no were near redline and won't give me any more power

    • @SPANNERRASH
      @SPANNERRASH  Рік тому +1

      @@jonny-p-8927 Assuming it isn't an electrical gremlin. I would look for any air leaks anywhere on the intake. Especially if there is an emissions pipework. Faults like this can be really hard to trace. Good luck! 🤞
